“A friend recently introduced me to Laundromat Bagel & Cafe on Balboa Street in the Outer Sunset, and I'm so glad they did.

As for the bagels, they are hands down superior to most bagels I've had in San Francisco. Even without toasting, the exterior had a satisfying crunch while the inside remained light and fluffy. The flavor was wonderfully balanced—neither sweet nor grainy, but pleasantly nutty. Most remarkable of all, the bagels weren't overly chewy, allowing their texture and flavor to shine.

The cream cheese deserves special recognition as well. The best way I can describe it is New York meets Bay Area style: dense and creamy, yet somehow light and fluffy, with just the right amount of tanginess.

I've been patroning this location ever since moving to this fine City and honestly the pizza quality has gone down over time. The chefs have become totally salt-blind. And they make the wildest pizzas I've never conceived of. They need to tone it down a little bit. Make pizzas people enjoy.

The pizza in question tonight had olives, capers, anchovies, and garlic. High sodium was expected, yes, but not like this.

Easily the saltiest olives I've ever had. And the anchovy texture was horrid. Today I learned I do not like my anchovies baked to a dry leather. Fresh-out-the-tin for me only, from now on. I think I've had enough salt for the whole week!!“

Whenever I visit a new bakery, I always order a croissant because that’s my way of judging how good a bakery is. This time, I got the chocolate croissant and a carrot muffin. The chocolate croissant was good, but not the best I’ve had in the Bay. I wish it had been flakier, with more layers and a richer buttery flavor. The carrot muffin was okay too. My mom liked it, but it just wasn’t my favorite. That said, the prices are affordable, and it’s still a solid bakery overall. So, I’d still stop by if I were in the area.“

They have a good variety of pinsas, although I didn’t find them as balanced as some others I’ve had. They’re pretty heavy on the cheese, and the sauce is a little too sweet for my taste.

The service was friendly, but could use a few tweaks. The staff were almost too attentive. I don’t really need my water refilled every time I take a sip, and at times it made the meal feel a little rushed; not ideal. Also, pay attention to where the water bottle is placed. Our waiter repeatedly put it right on the edge of the table next to our hands even though there was plenty of room elsewhere.

I had to come a second time to explore more of the menu. As a 12 year vegan, this is by far the biggest vegan menu in a undedicated restaurant I've seen. The garlic knots taste just like Domino's but without the fast food feeling or aftertaste. The mozzarella sticks are DEAD ON with Sonic's (just no cheese stretch). The texture and taste of the chicken wings are FANTASTIC. Loaded fries was jam packed with flavor. This is a must stop in San Fran!“
