We enjoyed a terrific meal here pre-theater. Having just lived in Italy, we can attest to the authenticity of the menu. We had pizza for lunch, so we focused on the antipasti (heirloom tomato’s, meatballs, cheeses), which were all delish—fresh and flavorful. Delightful desserts as well and nice wine options. I am not going to lie: the neighborhood is a bit rough but the food is worth it.
The food was phenomenal! Everything was fresh and well prepared. Adored their traditional antipasto options, full of absolute classics. Even when busy, staff was on top of everything. They even took the time to converse and learn about what brought our group to Cali. Will return!
We stopped here for dinner before seeing a show at the Warfield. This was perfect pre-concert food. Light, delicious crust, nourishing toppings. I didn’t feel heavy or stuffed after dinner. Have a cider with your pinsa for the perfect pre-show meal. I’ll definitely be back!

Montesacro SoMa offers pizza on another level, with a perfect Ponds crust that is light and crisp but not dry. The dough, the freshness of the ingredients, and the tomato sauce stand out. Flavor combinations are great, and the meatballs are flavorful with sauce that is perfection. Other menu highlights include delicious bread and olive oil, and a flourless chocolate cake. The atmosphere is great, sweet, and comforting, with a fun wine list and reasonable prices. The service is delightful and very good, with helpful servers focused on the experience. It is a fun place to go before a show at Golden Gate Theater or Orpheum, best enjoyed with a group to share apps and pizzas. However, tables are a little too close together, and street noise from Waymo cars can ruin the ambience, so sitting deeper inside is recommended. Get a reservation and give yourself time to avoid stress.
