Long time hidden gem/ hole in the wall on 6th street. The food is great, the restaurant itself is kind of crammed but there is upstairs seating available as well if you plan on dining in. Picking up is always fast & hassle free & the staff has always been friendly. They even give away free food to the homeless every now & then , which in my opinion may just be the best thing about this place. Been coming here for well over a decade. Whatever you decide on getting, make sure you order a side of their imperial rolls! You cannot miss out on those! Their Vietnamese coffee is also solid, but on the sweeter side.

Tu Lan has been our favorite SF food since I first came here in 1995. Same family runs things, works hard and produces consistently delicious food all these years. It is definitely a "special" place, and you have to be OK with the local flavor as you approach the restaurant. But you will be rewarded with authentic Viet fast delicious food. Totally worth eating here!
