We had a late lunch with a large party. The food was very good and service was excellent. Our server did a wonderful job providing the suggestions we needed. We split three pizzas, some meatballs, bread and soft cheese. The neighborhood was definitely sketchy but we didn’t have any issues with anyone. Once inside the cute restaurant we forgot about what was outside.

They serve Roman style pizza. It's not in the best neighborhood, but the pizzas are delicious.

TL;DR: You have to experience the food here and ask about the history and culture of the this beautiful restaurant.Apparently the only ‘Pinsa’ place in the vicinity. Possibly the country. It’s the apparently the Roman interpretation of a Pizza or a Flatbread. A sort of a cousin to Pizza.Tastes freaking awesome. The fluffy yet well done bread, sauce, cheese were great. Has to be had while hot and fresh.I appreciate the effort put into the aesthetic and vibe of the place. Apparently owned by an art collector.Great service by Cassius who guided us through the history of Pinsa and the art works of this beautiful restaurant.

??Montesacro Pinseria @montesacropinseriaThis Italian restaurant is located in downtown San Francisco, very close to the tenderloin, where public security is very poor. Please pay attention to safety if you go to the restaurant!Appetizer ?cavolfioriRoasted Cauliflower SaladBufala e BrocoliniMozzarella cheese with cauliflowerMain meal ?TorpignattaraVegetarian Cheese Pesto PizzaTrulloLamb Sausage PizzaDessert ?Pere Al VinoRed wine braised pears and vanilla ice creamThe three-course set meal at US$25 is a good CP value. Originally we wanted to go for the all-you-can-eat brunch at US$30 @scopodivinoUnfortunately, I received a notice from the restaurant a few days before I went that it would not be available due to internal renovations I hope this discount will be available during Restaurant Week in April this year! The interior decoration is very retro, the toilet even has seats similar to those of a barber's salon, and there are hair clippers on the wall??

Their Montesacro pinsa is epic! Such a unique combination. Loved their grilled veggies. The staff was exceptional and answered all of our questions. Highly recommend and will return!

Great place, we loved it. The food is excellent. The bread for the table and the olive oil to dip it in were delicious, and our wine was interesting and went beautifully with our meal. I got the Spumamia, I highly recommend it.The montesacro pinsa was also delicious, though I liked my partner's tormarancia even more.Service was great, and the atmosphere was cozy and pleasant. I liked that they played non-corny Italian music, and at a level that gave liveliness to the space but also allowed easy conversation.

Wow what delicious authentic Italian food. It’s a bummer because the area it’s in is a bit sketchy but beyond that I’d highly recommend this restaurant! Great for lunch too.

Excellent food, staff and service. They have a strong wine list, very interesting salads and pizza options. The decor is interesting and old school like from a 60s or 70s movie. The pizzas are named after neighborhoods in Rome. The street it is on is a bit sketchy but once inside it is really cool.Vegetarian options: Salads and many pizzas

Busy little place on a Friday night. But they were able to give us quick enough service so we could be on time for our show at the Warfield. Their pizzas are big enough for two to share. We had the pork belly one. A bit salty but great taste. I love the crust.

We always have a good experience at Montesacro. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, the food is superb and great value. My favorite pinsa remains the one w tuna (seriously it's an edible work of art!) and the pietralata is always a comforting pinsa- it's like carbonara on a pizza (w out the pasta!) stunning food- warm and cozy staff and restaurant!

This is our go to for a pre-theater bite. It's always a lovely experience. The Pinsas are outstanding and we always seem to have lovely service. It's not in the greatest spot (the Stevenson location) so hopefully that doesn't impact business. Love this place!

As a tourist from Europe I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there. I know that I'm supposed to avoid Tinderloin (I found it okish so far) but I didn't know that you are also supposed to skip this area. It felt super uncomfortable. Pinsa was really nice but the place was overcrowded and very noisy (as it is small and obviously favorite place for families with children). Happy to be safely away, good luck for owner.

All around delicious pizza in a sketchy area. The waiter was French and hilarious, very attentive and knew his stuff. I wish he was my friend. Minus one star for the dusty but endearing knickknacks. See you again!
