“Some of the best pastries I’ve had in years… We were visiting from out of town and randomly walked by and went inside. Made sure to add the place to our list of San Francisco favorites so we can keep coming back every time we visit. Guava danish, kouign amann, and ube mochi were otherworldly. Whoever is baking here is an absolute artist.“

“A very cozy place in the financial district. Even though we went on a weekend, there were still a lot of people working there. Their pour over coffee is reasonably priced and they also provide coffee beans in the shop. I like the paintings they have inside. The coffee also comes with a postcard telling us where the coffee beans come from and the history, which I think is very nice. If you like coffee, I recommend giving this place a try.“

“One65 was an amazing discovery on our trip to San Francisco. Having spent the first half of our life in Montréal, Québec, Canada where it was hard to find a bad restaurant, we were absolutely amazed by this Bistro which looks more like a high end dining experience. The menu online & the photos attracted us to this location but we were amazed by the well timed service, the crisp white tablecloths, the table setting and the pleasant and calm atmosphere. My choices of charcuterie platter was perfectly sized; the chicken & the pork rillettes where a wonderful surprise. My husband had an onion tart with the crust as perfect as they get & which I envied. He loved his halibut, moist and tender and I raved over my grilled half lobster, so tender that I found myself munching on the shell parts as well. My bread pudding was not of overwhelming size & perfectly flavored. Don chose the Affogato (scoop of vanilla gelato « drowned » with a shot of hot espresso). We wanted to go back today but they are closed on Sundays.?“

“very cute dessert shop in a bustling area! me and my friends went in for the crepe cakes and drinks and it was a nice place to sit down and talk to friends. i will say that their prices are a bit on the pricy end for crepe cakes ($12 for one piece), but ended up being more filling than we expected
for our drinks, we recommend the passionfruit refresher the most. it zaps you a bit with it’s fizziness and is tasty. the pineapple guava paradise was okay, and we didn’t really like the thai tea w/ lemonade.
for cakes, we recommend the pandan coconut mille crepe cake. very flavorful and yummy! the tiramisu is standard tiramisu and i had looked forward to the earl grey, but it was the least flavorful of them all and very light in flavor.
the atmosphere is very nice as you can be seated near the window, inside, or at their outside garden & it’s nice for pictures! overall, would recommend but would probably try out some other cafes next time“

“The bakery here is at the elevated level of beauty, aroma, and taste. People said that good bakery can look like jewelry boxes. I am not fond of jewelry, but I of course love bakery! The marcipan, almond paste, and meringe in each piece of the pastry is rich and aromatic. The price point is reasonable compared with the quality. I now would love to try all other items as well. Worth stopping by to make your weekend more special.“

“Wonderful service. They accommodated our custom requests that were placed shortly before the delivery date was due.The cake itself was delicious and a hit amongst everyone. The fact that the cake was not too sweet was the icing on the cake, so to speak.“

“I was walking around the neighborhood looking for a light breakfast; so grateful I came upon this cafe. The outdoor only seating was perfect for this beautiful sunny day. They had many pastries that I was not familiar with and host was so kind to talk me through them. So I got enjoy the sunshine, great customer service, new treats to enjoy!“

“The patio? There’s a patio??
I’ve been coming to Dynamo for years and somehow had no idea. I always just grabbed a donut to go or picked up a box for coworkers and left.
This time I saw the “patio” sign, grabbed a coffee and a donut, and sat down—and it completely changed everything.
It’s sunny, quiet, and weirdly perfect for getting work done. Great donuts, great coffee - but the patio is the hidden gem.“

“We had such a wonderful experience working with Cake Coquette! From the start, she showed us a variety of beautiful examples, listened to our ideas, and within minutes designed a stunning custom cake that felt perfectly “us.”
She even customized the flavor to create a Black Forest cake, which turned out absolutely delicious. The whole process was fun, creative, and effortless — truly one of the highlights of our wedding planning. Our cake looked incredible, tasted amazing, and reflected our style perfectly. Highly recommend Cake Coquette for anyone looking for a personal, professional, and inspired cake experience!“
“We did a five-course, intimate, dessert tasting at Bellaria. Every item was hand-crafted, thoughtful, innovative, and delicious. It started off with savory bites before moving into the main attractions. Our party absolutely loved the Mandarin and White Tea dish with seabuckthorn and tonka. The Pear Tatin Roulade and Souffle Bread Pudding were expertly crafted and technically impressive. The Chocolate dish at the end was the perfect bite to end the meal. And everything (besides the caviar) was vegan!I can't wait to see what else comes out of this innovative dessert studio. The space is small so you'll have to sign up in advance for the tasting, but it makes it intimate and homey. It makes a great date night!“

“Small neighborhood bakery in West Portal with a variety of baked goods and excellent coffee. The latte was spot on and we shared several baked items, all excellent. No seating inside and a couple of tables in front. Right on the route if you are doing the Double Crosstown trail, so perfectly located for a quick stop along the trail. Ditch the Starbucks and Peets and come here for coffee“

“Ive been to Butter & Crumble four times so far. My wait times in line have been: 15 minutes, 45 , 1 hour 45, 2 hours respectively. I can safely say that a 4.4 star rating for this place is absolutely criminal. Its the same phenomena I witnessed at Benu.
Customers come prepared with hyper inflated expectations not overpromised or curated by the establishment. They nit pick and complain about minor details (minimalistic decor in the case of Benu), and pastry price or line wait times for Butter and Crumble.
Yet, they overlook the deep ways that the business has evolved and its even deeper roots.
Name another pastry shop that it has the inspiring Grandmother's rolling pin framed in the corner. Name another pastry shop that has the father of the Owner working register and smiling genuinely at each customer. Name another pastry shop where you see the owner sprinting, smiling, working the drink area, handing drinks to customers, and grinding all things pastry and management. I doubt even Cédric Grolet can be seen wearing all of these hats.
Each time i've visited - the business has evolved to been even more considerate of its neighbors, customers, and community.
I doubt the majority of the less than favorable reviewers have ever worked a 5am baking shift in their life. I havent myself, but my mother was a baker and it's non-stop movement from start to finish. Even breaks only offer short reprieve until the bakers re-enter the sweltering pace of production to meet customer demand.
My original favorite pastry was at Arsicaults OG location until scale and expansion has made their quality still stellar, but variable. My favorite since my first visit is Butter & Crumble.
If SF and the community at large would like to keep this gem prismatic and multifaceted. Please begin or continue to acknowledge how great the product is and how hard the owner and workers labor to provide it for our community.
I would re-wait in the 2 hour line (I nearly did once already) for pastries of this quality. The price is fair and could be astronomically higher as a way to quell demand, but i respect and appreciate the prices as they are.
Thank you Butter & Crumble. My managers and coworkers also appreciate the quality you've provided.
BTW, this months Baklava Latte is insanely good. The Pistachio Cardamom Croissant continues to be world class and it even improves with each visit.“

“Reviewing this only for the donuts and ham+cheese pretzel croissant - incredible bakery. The croissant is my favorite in the city (including Arsicault and Tartine - different style though to be fair) because it's rich and flakey yet on the lighter side. Donuts are freshly filled and delicious. I go for the ham+cheese croissant all the time“
