“Mijote was an interesting, hip, involved dinner on a bustling Thursday. Reservations were definitely required (glad we had one) but we did still have to wait a bit before being seated. Service throughout was solid, a mix of dedicated servers, folks behind the food bar, and other staff mixing in and out. The dishes overall were definitely quality, but ultimately failed to spark too much engagement from me. The bread was frankly burnt, the duck was heavy, and the fish not as exciting as I expected. I came away from Mijote feeling like I've had a similar meal at many similar upscale restaurants in the US. Not a huge negative, but something to keep in mind as you compete for a reservation. Wine pairing was great though!“

“One65 was an amazing discovery on our trip to San Francisco. Having spent the first half of our life in Montréal, Québec, Canada where it was hard to find a bad restaurant, we were absolutely amazed by this Bistro which looks more like a high end dining experience. The menu online & the photos attracted us to this location but we were amazed by the well timed service, the crisp white tablecloths, the table setting and the pleasant and calm atmosphere. My choices of charcuterie platter was perfectly sized; the chicken & the pork rillettes where a wonderful surprise. My husband had an onion tart with the crust as perfect as they get & which I envied. He loved his halibut, moist and tender and I raved over my grilled half lobster, so tender that I found myself munching on the shell parts as well. My bread pudding was not of overwhelming size & perfectly flavored. Don chose the Affogato (scoop of vanilla gelato « drowned » with a shot of hot espresso). We wanted to go back today but they are closed on Sundays.?“

“One of my favorite spots in the city!! Love it so much that whenever a friend comes to town, I take them here. The happy hour special is amazing! The staff is always super kind, attentive, and accommodating.

I ordered the mistro salad, penne with chicken, and upgraded to banana bread pudding for dessert. The salad is very well balanced and the dressing to lettuce ratio is perfect. I generally order the penne with chicken - but I’ve tried the ravioli, chicken Marsala, and black pepper fettuccini. Of course they have fresh parm to top it off! The banana bread pudding is the best I’ve ever had - it’s slightly crispy on the outside, has nuts, and a lot of wonderful caramelization. All of it is great!! :)“

“Stopped in for happy hour and had an amazing time. The food and drinks were incredible, especially the crab stuffed mushrooms, just melt in your mouth. The Royale aperitif was delicious, as well as the GSM. “Absolutely loved dinner at Heirloom Cafe in the Mission. One of those rare San Francisco spots that still feels deeply personal, warm, and genuinely neighborhood-driven. The atmosphere is intimate and understated, but the food and wine program are world class.

The burger is still one of the best in SF. Rich, perfectly cooked, layered with incredible flavor, and somehow even better paired with a bold red from their beautifully curated wine list. The staff clearly knows wine and actually cares about helping you find the right pairing instead of just pushing expensive bottles. We ended up with an amazing Hungarian recommendation that elevated the entire meal. The desert wine and champagne even slap.

Huge credit to Wisconsin born Josh DeClercq and the team in the kitchen for keeping the food simple, seasonal, and dialed. You can feel the consistency and attention to detail in every dish. The whole place has that timeless California French bistro energy that’s getting harder and harder to find in San Francisco.

If you want a real SF dinner experience with exceptional wine, incredible hospitality, and food that feels thoughtful without trying too hard, this place is special. Perfect date night spot. We’ll absolutely be back.“

The croissant was especially good, flaky, buttery, and perfectly baked, and the bread was just as impressive. Overall, a great spot for high quality pastries, and definitely one I would go back to.“

“Off of Fillmore Street in a less busy part of the shopping district, this is a lovely corner restaurant where you can have a conversation or business meeting. A varied menu. “If you’ve ever visited Paris and fallen in love with a proper buckwheat galette, you know that finding that same magic back home is a tall order. My wife and I have been chasing that specific memory since our last trip, and we finally found the spot.

This place is a total gem. We stopped in for breakfast and were immediately transported. My wife went with the Sarrasine, while I opted for the Parisienne.

The first thing you notice is the texture—both galettes had those perfectly lacy, crunchy edges that are the hallmark of a well-made buckwheat crepe. The Sarrasine was incredibly hearty; the sausage and richness of the runny egg combined with the asiago cheese gave it a serious savory punch and a great hit of umami.

The Parisienne also had those signature crunchy edges, which really highlighted the nutty, toasted flavor of the buckwheat flour. The smoked ham was high quality—not too salty, but with enough depth to stand up to the sharp, creamy melted asiago. It’s that classic combination done exactly right.

We walked out feeling completely satisfied. It’s light enough that you don't feel weighed down, yet substantial enough to be the perfect post-workout meal. We’ll definitely be back!“

“This place is a hidden gem! As a vegetarian, I always treasure a great veggie sandwich, and this cafe gets it right. The vegetables are fresh and flavorful, and come on freshly baked focaccia. The ambiance is unexpected and tasteful, with ornate tiles and woodwork.“

“Service, atmosphere and cuisine are impeccable. Doesn’t look like much on the outside but it’s exquisite once you’re in. We celebrated our anniversary there and it did not disappoint. Live the shiitake and lobster dish, and the sea break sashimi too. All the food and drinks were great!“
