La Cigale Reviews
Amazing experience. Ignore the lazy folks who are tripping about the process to get a table. Just go over there at 4, get in line, get assigned a seating and then go get a drink in the neighborhood. Well worth it for this incredible dining experience. Best food I've had since my last trip to Japan!
La Cigale is a treat. The food was excellent -- a great fusion of French style, but with California fresh ingredients. The atmosphere was intimate, and the staff was relaxed, friendly, and attentive. Wine pairings have always made the meal for me and after 60 years of experience, I know what I like/want and the offerings by the glass and expertise of the wine steward here easily deserve 5 out of 5 stars and top billing! The food, atmosphere and outstanding service are complemented with an outstanding selection of wines by the glass to suit any palate? and if you are not sure, trust the wine steward to select the perfect paring for whatever you have ordered!

La Cigale is a passion-filled, exquisite restaurant located in the Glen Park neighborhood. This revered establishment offers a limited number of seats each evening, requiring guests to plan ahead and join the online waitlist that opens at 4:30 pm. The beautiful, well-designed space creates an air of intrigue, with a wood-fired stove as the centerpiece.
The star of the show is Chef Joseph, who expertly communicates the delicate details of each savory delight on the prix fixe menu. The southern France-inspired cuisine features dishes like pil pil (burnt spring onions and whipped salt fish), Garbure, Salade d'Hiver, Les Huitres, Saucisse d'Agneau à la Mariniere, Canard à la Ficelle, and for dessert, Galette aux Griottes and Meringue ai Miel. The extraordinary flavors, textures, and preparation create a magnificent, unforgettable dining experience.
The attentive, polite staff greet guests upon arrival, allowing the focus to remain on the exceptional food. While the prices may be high, the quality and care put into each dish make it a worthwhile investment for those seeking a unique, passion-filled dining adventure. Reserving a spot is essential, as this sought-after restaurant fills up quickly.
