“I love love LOVE The Local Spot! The Local Spot is the perfect one-stop shop for tasty goodies and locally-made gifts. The owners of the shop (who are super friendly and care deeply about the local community) have done a wonderful job of creating a lovely space to promote local artists and vendors. On top of that, their baked goods are delicious and always brighten up my day! My favorites are their pumpkin loaf and their scones. I especially love the maple bacon scone! They also have a vendor who sells coffee drinks and several snack vendor options. Dozens of local makers and vendors sell their items through this location, which has been really fun for me to peruse since it’s been hard for me to make it out to craft fairs after becoming a parent. The artists come by to restock their shelves and new vendors are added often, so there’s always plenty of new items coming through to check out. I love that I can always count on coming here to find wonderful and unique gifts made by local artists for loved ones (and for myself!), and was even able to do most of my Christmas shopping here and at their Christmas fair.“

“Very Japanese, very authentic, has Cafe in the name and they actually serve coffee unlike the Mexican joint across the street. I had a cold brew and Ton Katsu Bento, wish I took a picture before I itadakimasu'd that food right into my tummy. Very tasty, very sweet staff, oishi desu. Please check it out.“

“I found this bakery when I was looking for a place to purchase alfajores and I was so happy to have found it! I was greeted as soon as I walked in and my first visit was nothing but a very nice experience. Two young men behind the counter seemed really friendly and helpful. The other customers in the store at the time seemed very happy. I came for alfajores today, but I will definitely go back for more alfajores and other goodies!“

“She is wonderful to work with. I have used her twice now. Once for a Mickey Mouse Twoodles cake and just recently for a baby shower. We got lemon for the cake and snickerdoodle for the cupcakes and when I tell you everyone loved them both. Her cakes are delicious and she does and amazing job with decorating them you send her a picture of what you want and she will not disappoint.“

“I’ve had a great experience every time I’ve eaten at Crumble, and I’ve been eating here frequently for about 2 years now. Hands down. The cookies are so good , the ones I’m trying for the first time or the regular cookies they have . They are always fresh. No matter if you get the big size cookie or want to go with their mini. I usually buy a dozen of the minis or a box or 6 because, come on now. There’s no way I can only actually eat one or 2. I think mini is the perfect size. . So i highly recommend you stopping by a crumble location or ordering it for delivery. So I give 5 stars for here and can’t wait to get my 10 points for writing my review on here because that means I’m 10 points extra on getting my free cookie from there ! 😃“

“Yesterday I tried Uncle Tetsu inside Hillsdale Shopping Center for the first time and I really enjoyed it. There were so many flavors to choose from but I only got the coconut pandan Japanese cotton cheesecake and the ube cheese tart. They're selling the mini cheesecake - cheesetart combo for only $10, a pretty good deal!
Cotton cheesecake was super soft and fluffy, and the flavor leans more towards the coconut. I think pandan was only there for the color. Like you can see it but the flavor was really light, not super strong like I expected.
Ube cheese tart was also good but definitely on the sweeter side. Me and my friend shared one because it gets kinda sugary after a few bites (but it's still delicious, I highly recommend). The texture is nice, very creamy and buttery inside with a slightly crunchy crust.
Place was not busy, and staff was nice. I’d probably come back again when I'm craving desserts.“

“Was able to try the Mocha Crunch Cake which is hard to find in the Bay Area. I've only been able to find one other place in San Francisco. This cake was very tasty and moist. And of course there was a good crunch to it. I think the only thing about the crunch is that some of the pieces are HUGE but overall...can't complain!“

“We did a side by side taste test today vs the semi-famous Victoria cannoli from north beach in San Francisco. Both are good, but Romolo’s really is far better. All three people who tasted both agreed that it wasn’t super close. Romolo’s have a clear and delightful flavor, a better shell, and a hint of citrus in the filling that makes it even better. You can’t go wrong with either, but you can go right.“

Plus they charged money for the boxes and credit card fees. A lot of nickle and diming here but it is what it is. We also tried this mocha like bread and it was pretty chewy and good.“

“You haven't truly tasted banana bread if you haven't had a loaf from Nina's Home Bakery. I am a huge banana bread fan and consider myself super picky. As soon as I picked my order, I was pleasantly surprised at how substantial (read: heavy) the loaf was. The smell alone was mouthwatering; I couldn't resist sneaking a bite in the car on the way home. And OH MY GOODNESS. I don’t even know how to explain what my tastebuds went through at that moment, but hands down, it surpassed allllll my expectations - the crust was perfectly caramelized with the perfect amount of crunch, the loaf was not too fluffy, not too dense... perfection!

I can, with 100% confidence, declare that Veronica makes the absolute BEST banana bread I have ever tasted (sorry, Mom). Needless to say, I have ordered several more times from her and will continue to do so on a regular basis. Her banana bread is my go-to gift for friend's birthdays, housewarming parties, etc. and I love that she can accommodate vegan and gluten-free diets as well. I just recently tasted her delicious banana chocolate chip cookies, which I'll be adding to my regular order going forward. :)

“I am so happy I found Amusante while browsing bakeries in San Mateo. I got a chiffon cake, yuzu, churro, and sweet potato financiers as well as a chocolate chiffon slice with cream. The chiffon cake was light and spongy. The financiers were buttery and had a slight chewiness. All were not too sweet and very delicious. I had no problems with ordering and pickup. Thank you!“
