“I came to El Zocalo to get some pupusas. I got some chicharron & queso and frijol & queso. The pupusas were delicious, but a bit greasy, I really enjoyed them. The staff is very friendly, I appreciate the great customer service. When I feel like eating a pupusa, I will be back.“
“My friends highly recommended this place to me, and I tried it for the first time today. It definitely met my expectations. Their combo menus are best-sellers and they are really satisfying. You can choose your own meat, which is great. The food was delicious. One of their most popular menu items is the mushroom garlic, but I didn't try it because I don't like mushrooms. Just something to keep in mind!“
“Great little spot with genuinely great food. The service was spot on and you just know there is a lot of care and pride that goes into every dish. We had the beef birria plate and the calabazas a la Mexicana plate and they were both delicious.“
“Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the food. I had the 2 papusas + chicken soup combo and I loved it all, especially that soup. Friendly attentive service, she even brought us a little bowl of corn alote on the house when we asked about it. So nice. Definitely recommend.“
“Great restaurant (Fonda). The restaurant staff are very welcoming, attentive, and friendly. We order the pupusas with yucca and plantains. The pupisas were freshly made and delicious. Looking forward to try other dishes in my next visit. Highly recommended.“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Los Planes De Renderos in San Francisco, and it was truly a delightful experience from start to finish. The staff members were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home from the moment we stepped in. Their warmth and genuine care for their customers added an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal. Not only was the service impeccable, but the food itself was simply outstanding. Each dish was prepared with care and expertise, bursting with authentic flavors that transported me to El Salvador with every bite. From their mouthwatering pupusas to their tantalizing plantain dishes, every item on the menu was a testament to the culinary mastery of the chefs.Overall, my visit to Los Planes De Renderos was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of impeccable service and exquisite cuisine made for an unforgettable dining experience. I can't wait to return and indulge in their delectable offerings once again. Kudos to the entire team for their dedication to excellence!I would like to thank Beatrice and Sonia personally for the exceptional experience and their pupusas are a must try!“
“My parents would bring me here as a kid and I hadn't been in years now I'm bringing my mom years later, had low expectations but it was still delicious, the aguas frescas especially the pineapple were great they even made my wife a cheese less pupusa which we had been to many pupuserias and they would never make her one so we will definitely be back.“
“I ordered pupusas revueltas. The pupusas, salsa and curtido were delicious. Horchata too, they make it as traditional Salvadoran horchata without milk or Rice.Vegetarian options: Pupusas are vegetarian, unless you add chicharrón (pork) or other meats. Beans and cheese are very popular.“
“We were looking for food at 9pm on a Wednesday and everywhere else we went was closed. I'm glad they were!! This food was awesome!! We have been living in noe valley for six months and I think this is the best meal we had so far. Also the staff was friendly. It is a small , little hole in the wall.“
“I love these pupusas!!! The cabbage slaw "Curtido" is divine, and the salsa just the same. I look forward to this treat every time it's brought to our work!! You can tell The owner Miguel, puts his heart into these dishes. Best pupusa in town!!“
“Like I was saying, if your into cheesy large oblong shaped flavorful pupusas? This place is Da Bomb!!! I ordered half a dozen pupusas with a variety of flavours and each one did not disappoint. These ufo shaped meals were moist, extra cheesy with just the right amount of ingredients inside to make it a happy hi carb meal! The place is a whole in a wall but very clean. There's more to the menu than pupusas and I'm hoping to order some other Salvadorean dishes next time.“
“I absolutely love this restaurant. I have been picky with where I get my Salvadoran dishes, and it's going to be at Mexican-Salvadoran fusion, but this one is by far the most authentic in terms of atmosphere and flavor. The pupusas trigger memories of my favorite place that my parents would take me as a kid in Redwood City.“
“Name of the restaurant might have changed to "Pupuseria El Salvador" as the old sign, which you can see in old photos, has been replaced. I didn't know what to order and I didn't see a menu so I went with typical Salvadoran food which is what everyone else was eating. I asked her to recommend a soup and a pupusa and she gave me what might be sopa de res and cheese and pork pupusa. Soup had a nice flavor to it, a bit oily, and pretty good beef (not overcooked! Yay!) The pupusa is excellent. Slightly burnt on the bottom to give it crunch, soft on top, and nice flavor. The pickled cabbage was good too. There was a large group ahead of me (does everyone eat at 3:30pm?) so the food took a while. She apologized for the wait and was nice about me not knowing what to order and my inability to speak Spanish.“
“Delicious pupusas, I love this place! Everyone there is so kind and friendly, too. La taqueria next door is good, but honestly this place should be just as popular. There's a good amount of seating indoors or they have take out that can be ordered online.“
“The best food from El Salvador are the pupusas. There are very few places where you can find delicious pupusas and this is one of them. The cabbage salsa was not perfect but acceptable. The papas con chicharrón was well prepared and had a very good flavor but very little chicharrón and the tamales had a pleasant flavor but not to my taste“
