“This place appears to be known for their pupusas, but I got a taco instead. I’ll have to go back to try their speciality. The folks there where friendly and many of the customers appears to be regulars so that’s a good sign. My shrimp taco was great.“
“Drive there. It took one hour. Interesting roads and real hard to find since it’s behind main road and the good thing that I got parking in front of the establishment. The bread there was very delicious. The store atmosphere was good and the service was quick and they were very friendly. I’ll definitely take the road trip again to buy more pan fresco to enjoy with my Minions.Parking: Plenty of places to parkKid-friendliness: They were super patient with my Minions in picking there favorite pastry choice.“
“The only bad thing about this restaurant is that it's that they include the TIPS on your receipt and my opinion it's the that's not fair, other then that everything it's perfect, that's why i stop going i used go often to this restaurant but not any “
“My recent visit to Cuscatlan was an unforgettable journey into the heart of Salvadoran cuisine. From the moment I walked in, I was embraced by a warm, inviting atmosphere that sets the perfect stage for an authentic dining experience. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the spicy margarita expertly crafted by Bryan. It was, without exaggeration, one of the best I've ever had. The perfect balance of heat, tang, and sweetness made each sip a delightful surprise and a testament to the skill behind the bar.The food at Cuscatlan is nothing short of phenomenal. Every dish I've tried has been a vibrant showcase of flavors and textures, revealing the depth and richness of Salvadoran cooking. The ingredients are always fresh, the flavors are perfectly balanced, and the portions are generous, making every meal a satisfying feast. What makes Cuscatlan stand out is not just its exceptional food and drinks but also its commitment to authenticity and quality. It's a hidden gem that brings the soul of El Salvador to the heart of our city. Whether you're a fan of Central American cuisine or trying it for the first time, Cuscatlan is a must-visit destination. To the wonderful team at Cuscatlan, thank you for your passion and dedication to bringing such a high standard of Salvadoran cuisine to our community. I can't wait to come back for more!“
“Very tasty food, the attention being a small place is special, I feel at home, I am addicted to a good breakfast with Gallo pinto and plantains, this place makes it exquisite, the menu is simple, the place and especially the kitchen is very clean and the price of the food excellent.Just go you will not be disappointed.“
“Love this place!!!! The food is excellent. I've been here several times, and they did not disappoint. The Chica Chica Mirada, Mar y Terra ? it's excellent. I've dine-in, delivery, and take out - never disappointed. I highly recommend this restaurant!“
“I missed my train and needed to grab a bite to eat near Amtrak. This is one of the most incredible things I've ever eaten. It's right across the street. Staff was super friendly. I had a pork and a chicken pupusa and they were fantastic. Hope I miss my train again soon.“
“I stumbled upon this place randomly. My dad is Salvadoran and although my mom has learned to cook all of his favorite Salvadoran meals, he also sometimes likes to eat out and find a really good pupuseria! (Place where they sell pupusas). One day we were in the area and got lucky enough to find Plátano! This was one of our favorite local Salvadoran spots for a very long time. We went back to eat there more than a few times and although we haven't visited the area recently, I've been wanting to go back just to eat here! Their food tastes so authentic and delicious. Their drinks are rich and flavorful as well and my favorite dessert was of course the empanadas de plátano! (Plantain empanada). I wish there was more Salvadoran restaurants available, I also wish I lived closer to plátano to satisfy some cravings here and there. If you're in the area give them a visit. Expect friendly and attentive service, a clean restaurant, and the best darn Salvadoran food you'll try in Berkeley!“
“If you’re looking for a meal that feels like “homemade”, this is a great place to satisfy your craving. Staff seems energetic, polite and respectful, and they even ask if you’re allergic to any of the ingredients on the food you ask for which is not very common, that way they put your health first. Prices are reasonable and the taste is great. When you’re done eating your main meal, you can get some pastries right there as well and they’re worth it.“
