“Best Korean BBQ restaurant in SSF! There are no grills for you to cook your own, but the meat based dishes are very full flavoured. Service request is with a bell installed at each table (love it). The ambient is well lit. Larger party friendly. Kpop videos playing on the screens. All that is expected in the best ways.Vegetarian options: There isn't much purely vegetarian dishes. If you are ok with meat mashed soup with vegetarian 'toppers' then you'll be fine with tofu soups, fried tofu, etc. Ban chans are veggies based.“
“I get the hype - food is delicious. We had a galbi bibimbap and the braised beef rib / oxtail kalbijjim. So flavorful and meat very tender. We were 4 people and probably would have been full with just the large kalbijjim, as we had trouble finishing everything. Servers were really friendly and kept the banchan plentiful. Also, the kimchi was one of the better kimchi’s I’ve had. Great meal, I will be back!Parking: Large public parking lot across the street“
“Very nice neighborhood restaurant. Plenty of gluten-free options. Servers are very knowledgeable of the menu! Dessert was fantastic. And the cornbread is gluten-free and delicious! If we ever make it back to SF, we're definitely stopping for dinner again!Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten-free options!“
“This place is a ridiculous gem of a spot. Rather unassuming from the outside, but inside is a super focused, stylish and capable kitchen turning out a small menu of greatness. It almost goes without saying that this is not grocery store rotisserie chicken. You actually get crispy skin here, non generic seasoning and nosiness throughout. It's also served with fresh mint and cilantro, and all the chimichurri you can stand. The sides are impeccable with next level roasted broccoli and Brussels, both also served with herbs and bright sauces. All wrapped it up with really great service. Date night-level ambiance too! Only thing is you need to be ready for stinky leftovers because the amount of cruciferous veggies (cauliflower, sprouts, broccoli) you can get, but it's worth it.“
“We didn't realize this place was cash only until we arrived, so as a workaround, we ordered online and checked out using square payments. Fortunately, we were still able to dine in, and the hostess checked in with us and brought us water. The food was solid, not the best I've ever had but nothing wrong with it. It’s a good place to share a meal with friends or family; just don’t forget to bring cash!“
“Luke's Lobster is located in the heart of the city and jt offers a taste of Maine's famous lobster. Lobster rolls are filled with generous portions of tender lobster meat and served on buttery, toasted rolls. The menu also includes other seafood options such as shrimp and crab rolls, chowders and salads. I find small shrimp roll to be very filling as a lunch option. Crab roll, based on other Bodega Bay restaurants I visited, is just ok. I only had it once. The casual atmosphere of the restaurant adds to the overall experience.“
“Went here when we were desperately craving ramen!! Cute spot. We loved the calamari, it was great. Was a bit difficult to get water and ramen was not amazing. Expected to be blown away for the price. Spent $80 (2 peopl) with no beverages besides water and one app.“
“Pho 2000 is a cute restaurant with two floors with kind and efficient service. I ordered pho dac biet (#1) small size and Thai iced tea. They also provide with hot tea when you first sit. The pho was okay. Everything was fine except that the broth wasn’t as strong as I wanted it to be. It was very mild which made it kind of hard to taste. I had to mix a bit of hoisin sauce into the broth to be able to taste it. The noodles were kind of overcooked and there wasn’t as much meat as I thought there would be. The Thai tea was delicious! Strong, sweet, and refreshing just how I like it. I had received both items in less than 10 minutes. This restaurant is a great lunch spot!“
“i got the bbq lovers chicken rice plate for 15 bucks, and they flew past all expectations for both flavor and portions. the chicken was cooked well and had a nice grilled flavor. it came with fresh chopped vegetables and rice. definitely a repeater for me!“
“Best sandwiches in San Francisco. The daily specials are my favorite. The flavor combinations are so creative and incredibly delicious. Their classic tomato soup is wonderful, and the perfect addition to any sandwich. Service is always friendly. I would order from them every day if I could.“
“I've tried the Daeho in japantown SF and I've had the Daeho in San Jose...but I feel like this Daeho tastes the best??? I'm not sure if it's the meat quality, portion sizes, flavor or what but this is my favorite location out of all the Bay Area locations.Daeho specializes in galbi-jjim, which is Korean braised beef short ribs in the most delicious sauce. You MUST get the cheese on top because they torch it at your table and it makes for a great IG story haha. I also like to get rice cakes in it. The large size can feed a table of four. The spice level is kind of inconsistent among the chains or even on certain days. I usually get spicy and I thought it wasn't spicy, during my most recent trip. (Maybe my spice tolerance went up? Maybe the chef just made it less spicy?) If you're unsure what spice level you are, I would err on the side of less spicy because you can always add spicy to it later.Aside from the beautiful galbi-jjim, I think everything else on the menu is pretty good. I like to pair my galbi-jjim order with a cold noodle to offset the heat. I think the soups here are so good. Their galbi-tang (short rib soup) is perfect on a cold day.“
“Can't find a better sandwich.Any other sandwich chain only scores 1 or 2 compared. The roast beef was tender, thinly sliced, the onion jam sauce so delectable, the bun was perfect. Been years since I've had a sandwich meal that surpassed the taste of Q's.It's an 11.“
“Brought parental units here for a weekday late lunch. The environment is chill, food was good, service was warm and friendly. | Ambiance | There's ~8 table here, with benches for seating; each table can comfortably seat 4-6, possibly more with kids. The restaurant is bright and delightfully decorated. | Food | Given this was our first time here, we ordered two #1 Original: one with shrimp, one with beef. The meat/bone broth has been cooked for hours and has a delicious depth to it. We had regular noodles (imported from Yuana) in one and kale noodles in the other. Both were delicious. The bridge of toppings that come with each order of noodles, albeit gimmicky, was fun and added texture to the dish; atop the bridge were corn, preserve vegetables, yuba, goji berries, ham slices, a shrimp, wood ear strips, chives, and a quail egg. The protein ( slices of beef and shrimp) came out raw, along with noodles on the side, and piping hot broth for us to cook everything in. All in all, a very satisfying meal. We also got the tofu + ground pork cold dry noodles and a wood ear appetizer. The dry noodles were unique and I liked the tofu flavors in them, though I still preferred the version with broth. The wood ear appetizer was good - vinegary and had a little kick. | Service | The manager/owner (?), having learned that this was our first visit, welcomed us and shared her recommendations. It was clear she's passionate about the food and takes pride in their offerings. She and the other waitress were both great in ensuring we were well taken care of; service was quick. Despite this being a restaurant that has been opened for only 5 months, everything is operating smoothly. When the bill came, I opted to pay with a credit card. These days, the tip portion of the credit card workflow at restaurants can get quite confusing, often ranging anywhere from 15-25% or more. Unlike other restaurants that default tip to 18% or 20%, I appreciated Oodle defaulting theirs to 15%. For that, and for the delightful service, I was happy to increase the tip to the next tier up at 18%. They earned it!“
“Cute little place a bit off the beaten path. Ordered the Morrocan Rice with Kefta and caramelized onions and a side of hummus. The Kefta was delicious with the caramelized onions seasoned with cinnamon and nutmeg (?). Really good. The tangy side salad was a nice counter-point to the Kefta. The hummus was top drawer and sprinkled generously with paprika. The only disappointment was the pita which was a bit dry and appeared (and tasted) "store bought." Taking off a star for that. If you're serving this type of food, you can't fumble something as basic and central as the pita bread. Aside from that little fail, very good.“
“Go there!! Best restaurant for noodlesoup Ive ever been! Amazing homemade iceatea with just the perfect amount of sugar and lemon. Im travelling a lot and thats one of the most authentic and best restaurants Ive ever visited. So much enjoyed, also kids, because you can spice up yourself... 6 stars!!!!“
“I was excited to try this Ukrainian spot since I realized it’s the only Ukrainian restaurant in SF. And even though the interior and vibe of this place is very simple (I’d say it’s more like an eatery) the food is really good and authentic. Our party of 5 was interested in trying everything they have to offer and it seemed to be feasible because the menu is not large. The only option we skipped was pelmeny (as their origin isn’t really Ukrainian). So the summary is:- Borscht 5/5 Very rich taste, tender vegetables and good amount of meat- Cabbage rolls 5/5 My personal favorite! Very juicy, good quality of meat in the filling and well cooked cabbage leaves- Vareniky (dumplings) 5/5 We got vegetarian versions (potato and potato with cheese) and love them. Delicate dough, well balanced filling.- Hand roll with mushrooms 5/5 Lots of filling, good thin crust- Beets salad 5/5 Fresh and zesty!- Syrniky (cheese pancakes) 5/5 Delicate and fluffy. Raspberry jam matched perfectly for them.- Honey cake 5/5 Moist and creamy. With the honey taste in layers.- Kompot 5/5 Bright fruits flavor, not too sweet- Beer good but nothing specialDefinitely recommend this place for the quick intro to traditional Ukrainian food.“
“Amazing little Chinese food restaurant run by a husband/wife combo - some of the hardest working folks around! Lily always works the front and is the sweetest person you’ll ever meet.Everything I’ve ever had here has been delicious and fresh, but the Mongolian chicken is one of my favs. You can’t beat the prices here either! It’s a special place, go see for yourself!“
“We stumbled upon this awesome spot in San Francisco. A Vietnamese joint that's all about that comfy, family-style vibe. Lot of unique dishes. great food, reasonable prices, and fast service. I order the crispy fried egg noodle with tofu. I was clean and tasty, just the way I like it. My friend got the grilled pork skewers with rice noodle. and it was full of flavor, our first time trying that dish. Definitely planning to go back and try more of their food!“
“Think I just told someone Filipino food doesn't do veggies. Ha ha. Wrong again! Had a delicious dish with eggplant, kabocha, bitter melon and more. Other things we had were so various and delicious. Bring your family. Then you can try more things! He “
“A gem on Irving Street, where the competition for good Chinese is fierce, this restaurant stands out. Amazing Chongqing xiao mian, fresh in every possible way. Clean but homey atmosphere, with an employee taking advantage of the lull to trim green beans on a free table. Great value as well. Already making plans to go back with a fellow lover of spicy cuisine.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian Dan Dan noodles“
“Came here for a casual Saturday lunch. Place was full of patrons but we got seated rather quickly. Place looks newly remodeled, clean and comfortable. Servers were attentive, helpful and polite. Prices are reasonable. Quantity and quality of food is quite good. Every dish was flavorful, hot and pleasing to both the eyes and the palette. Bathrooms were clean, dry, and supplies were plentiful. Do recommend and I will be back.“
“Really really good authentic northern style dumplings! Everything is really fresh and super flavorful!Nothing beats dumplings, especially dumplings stuffed with chives. When you stay abroad for a long time, this is sometimes what you like. This store is very well done, thumbs up!“
“Went here after watching a show in the area. A small quaint place that is open till late. The servers were really nice and friendly. We got kinchi fried rice with chicken and spicy sauce boneless fried chicken. The spicy sauce was more sweet and less spicy and I wish it were the other way around but overall food was decent.“
“Very good dumplings and soup. I felt the food was fresh but under spiced, which allows you to flavor the food to your desired taste. Service was fast but souless. Portions were very large and served warm. The restaurant interior was basic but clean. Prices were reasonable.“
“I picked this restaurant on a whim before leaving the city and it did not disappoint! My gf ordered a bean and cheese burrito which was not on their menu and they accommodated her request and brought it out in beautiful presentation. The chicken mole I ordered was also beautifully presented and the most delicious mole I've had (don't tell my grandma lol). I've added this to my "must stop here" list of places on the city and I'll be sure to visit this place whenever I'm in SF“
“One of the best restaurants in SFO chinatown. This is one of the ONLY restaurants to open early. After looking for breakfast and finding nothing opens Until 11am- We were not impressed by chinatown in SFO. Much better in other cities. But this place saved us! Good food and good service.“
“Tried this place for lunch. Menu had decent options. The food was not the best Korean but it was good. Service was very good and quick. Lunch portions are ideal, won't put you to sleep after. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area!“
“Came here on Friday, after a movie (at AMC) for lunch. It's a short walk and the food is great! Much better than food court food. There's a nice traffic of what looks like regulars and no wait to be seated. The dining room has a nice cozy feel to it -- not spartan like some of the Vietnamese restaurants in Sunset. And it was very pleasantly nice to step into the cozy space. Waiter is friendly, though they seem thinly staffed so service was not very fast. We had: * Hue rolls for Appy: SO fresh, lovely bouncy rice wrap + the pork is amazingly flavored. Their Hue Roll is much better than their spring roll. The pork has an amazing smoky, rich flavor without being heavy. * Beef Bo: a little annoying that it costs extra if you want beef balls, tendons or trip, but it tasted really good. Really fresh ingredients and very satisfying. You may have to ask for the sprouts and hoisin sauce/Sirarcha. Ours came once we asked for it, but did not come by default. For me, the accompaniments (esp lime, sprouts, Thai basil and hoisin/sirarcha) really makes the Beef Bo for me SO do ask if you don't get it by default Love finding this restaurant! Tin now has 3 locations across SF, including one on Spear (which used to be called MAU), which is how I recognized to come here. Love the Tin food!! Specialty is the pork and the lemongrass chicken with rice is also super satisfying -- a little gingery & caramel-y. They really specialize in meats that have a bit of caramelization + a fresh take with an aromatic combo (like lemongrass, ginger, etc).“
“The food here was delicious! The woman at the counter was warm and inviting, and even gave me a recommendation on what to order. (The bahmi kiao soup!) The soup had such a good sized portion of meat and noodles, and the dumplings were great too. My wife got the pad see ew - which she also loved! I tried it as well and it had a dash of sweetness which I really enjoyed. The prices were more than fair, the food was great, the Thai iced tea hit on a warm afternoon and the seating was clean and convenient. I would definitely recommend coming here!“
“Great spot for Burmese food. I love when places already list what is gluten free so it's easy to order (especially helpful for takeout) only ordered 3 dishes. We will definitely be back for the other gf dishesDietary restrictions: Great for gluten free options“
“Oh my gosh! This was some of the best Chinese food i’ve had in a while. It was amazing and I loved the ban ban noodles! The service was amazing. They pour your water for you, put food on your plate, ect. I loved the atmosphere and lighting! I’m very specific with my lighting, and it wasn’t too bright but not too dark.Kid-friendliness: I am a kid! And they are so sweet and give you a nice smile.“
“I was feeling kinda blehhh on a chilly and rainy day. I hadn't eaten all day and got off work early and my mind wanted nothing more than some bomb pho. I'm new to the city so I didn't really know where to go. But I rely on trusty google photos to do the picking for me! And the photos looked phoking great lolzThe atmosphere was cozy and quaint. I was mom verbally seated as the owners handled a large group of guest-- this I appreciated (something about informality that makes me feel welcome). I ordered the bbq beef pho (large) with iced tea. The broth was super fragrant and the beef had a wonderful color. This bowl hit the spot, man. Sometimes you get beef that is sort of tasty and has no color, looks dry sage for being in broth, but this was excellent. I think I paid about $23-24 for the whole meal. The tea is about $6 and I think the large bowl was $14 or $15. Honestly, I'm 6'3 and 225lbs and was wicked hungry and it was too much almost for me haha. Go with the regular one. 10/10 will come back.“
“I have reviewed this neighborhood restaurant before as we order take out once a month. Today we decided to eat in... For apps we had the Haukaw and Siomai Combination. Followed by the Crab Rangoon. Both were tasty, freshly steamed and met our expectation. Next we had Mandarin Eggplant. This is our all time fave. It tastes even better when you eat at the restaurant! We ordered Eliza's Spicy Chicken. The were decorative Veggie that were crisply sautéed along the sides. Very good and one of our faves. Lastly, we had some Mushroom Chow Fun...delish! All the dishes were so much better as dine-in! But take out is not bad despite the time in the container. A neighborhood must!“
“Affordable delicious lunch spot for people who work in downtown sf or want to grab a quick bite! You can also call ahead to order if you're in a hurry. It's nestled in a spot that might be hard to find. There's plenty of outdoor seating. I had the Roma's club sandwich and their house sauces are so delicious! Adds a creamy and spicy kick to the sandwich. Love their Dutch crunch bread too. Will be back everytime I need a lunch spot :-)“
“Mandoo is the bomb.. there is not alot of seating so make sure to secure a seat before you order! The jajang rice is what we got. The sauce was not alot tbh, but the egg on top made it just fine!! They give you extra soup to enjoy the food even better!!!“
“Great experience here. Came on a Saturday night around 6:30pm and as a group of 3 were seated in less than 10 mins (no reservation). All the food we are was great, and everything that came out at other tables looked good, too. Highly recommend the dry green beans, Kung pao prawn, and egg fried rice.Service was quick and attentive. They even have high chairs.Service fee of 18% is automatically added and they request no tipping. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area!“
“I ate Pad Thai. The taste was truly impressive... It was the most delicious Southeast Asian food I've ever had in my life. The price is reasonable too, so definitely!! Go try it. You really won't regret it. 4 people in my group tried every bite of the menu, and it was all really, really delicious haha.“
“We were hoping to taste the same ramen from Ippudo that we enjoyed in Japan, and this restaurant came closest to replicating that experience. The decor was beautiful, and the staff were professional. We thoroughly enjoyed our order and the overall experience. I definitely recommend it.“
“Food:Baked crab dip - 8/10Scott's Boston style clam chowder - 7/10Scott's manhattan style clam chowder - 6/10Daily special risotto - 5/10Right before we left SF we decided to stop by this chowder house and it was a good call. The weather was getting cold and the bowl of hot clam chowder definitely hit the spot. Out of the two styles, we preferred the Boston style better but definitely try both if you have the chance. The baked crab dip was super yummy! Restaurant was nice and clean, very nicely decorated.“
“Incredible! One of the best sushi places I’ve ever been- selection and quality is outstanding. Service was so friendly and helpful and even brought us variations of uni without asking which thought was a beautiful touch! Thank you!!!Had tuna sashimi selection, uni sushi, miso soup, wakame salad, cucumber and shrimp salad, and T-Dragon roll. Can’t fault a thing! Delicious, not over flavoured or over salted.“
“This unassuming joint is located right by my hospital and is the perfect fix for my greasy chow mein cravings. It's pretty clean inside and ordering is easy (either place your order online or call it in). Orders are prepared in a timely manner and they toss in fortune cookies for you to enjoy as well. I've ordered the veggie chow mein ($11.55) and string beans ($12.50). Portions are decent and pricing isn't too bad. They also have lunch/dinner specials too!“
“Between their 2,169 reviews (and counting) and the fact that this is the third Ben Tre that I've written about, it'd be fair to say that whatever I write isn't exactly going to be groundbreaking. Really, what are the odds it would be anything that hasn't already been said before? And yet...here we are. Not because I think what I have to add is so important, but because I just think Ben Tre is just awesome! Granted, nothing that I've had is the best that I've had before, but it'd be hard to find something as consistently good across multiple trips and multiple locations as what Ben Tre has to offer! Compared to their spot in Millbrae (and their now-shuttered location in San Mateo), this Ben Tre looks pretty generic. However, what it lacks in trendy or eye-catching decor, Ben Tre makes up for in the basic fact that it is super clean. Also, and most importantly, their all too familiar menu is full of the same tried and true favorites that all of their locations have to offer - a bunch of appetizers, including less common dishes like Banh Xeo (Vietnamese crepe) and fried quail, pho, various noodle soups, bun/vermicelli bowls, rice plates (including their awesome yellow rice), claypots, vegetarian dishes, soups, salads, and garlic noodles. In all, their menu has something for just about every taste! -- (#1) BEN TRE APPETIZER COMBINATION - Imperial Roll, Shrimp Roll, Grilled Pork Meatball, Sugarcane & Crispy Shrimp, Rice Vermicelli, and Lettuce...$19.95 ( I've long wanted to try this, so I was stoked when my friend suggested splitting an order. Of the bunch, I thought the imperial was the best followed closely by the pork meatball. Honestly, though, nothing about this was bad. -- (#28) CA RI GA - Chicken Curry Noodle Soup...$17.95 ( Not quite as good as the one I used to always get in Millbrae, but still pretty solid. While the curry isn't as rich and robust (it's a bit thin), the chunks of chicken are both big and juicy and the noodles have a nice bite to them. -- (#18) PHO TAI CHIN - Beef Noodle Soup with Rare Beef & Well Done Brisket...$16.95 ( Such a basic dish, I know, but still great! The portion is fairly generous, the noodles are tender, and there's a good meat to noodle ratio. The broth is the best part, though (rich, not fatty), so it's hard to go wrong with any of their pho choices. Also, even though I haven't tried them at this Ben Tre, I would assume that some of my favorites at their Millbrae location are just as good here, like their Bun Rieu (Tomato & Crab Pho), Pho Thit/Tom Nuong (BBQ Pork, Beef, or Shrimp with Bowl of Pho Noodle Soup), and their Ben Tre Com Vang & Thit Dac Biet (Yellow Rice with BBQ Pork or BBQ Beef). And that's without even mentioning some of the other dishes on the menu that have caught my eye, such as their Bo Buc Lac (Shaking Beef) and Com Vang Tay Cam (House Special Yellow Rice in Claypot). After all, why would I have any reason to doubt the OG location of the Ben Tre/Gao Vietnamese empire?“
