“I am so glad they opened this sandwich spot! I ordered 5 items for takeout and it came out to only $34. I got 2 veggie sandwiches on Dutch crunch. Best sandwiches in San Mateo County. I also tried their 2 dessert options. They have the bst carrot cake I have ever had! Their chocolate chip cookie tasted very rich. I had their veggie soup which was fresh and delicious. This place is my new go to spot. The location is a little awkward, but the inside is organized and clean. It only took 10 minutes to make my order. Definitely a satisfied customer!!!“

“We didn't realize how much a difference good bread has on a sandwich! Their meats and veggies are already good, but their sourdough is next level. We love it so much, we get the baguettes to take home. The staff is really nice here as well and it's clean with plenty of seating. Parking is easy in the adjacent lot. Good value, too.“

“Came on a Sunday around 7pm and there was still a line but we were seated within 15 mins so not terrible. They use QR scanning on the table but the servers do come around to check if you have questions. We ended up seated outside, which wasn't bad since it was a bit warm that day.

We ordered the regular soup dumplings (XLB), the pan fried ones, (SZB), the egg and Chive pancake, and the green onion noodles (recommended by the server). Both baos were excellent and we ended up ordering seconds of both of those. The chive pancakes were pretty good and the noodles were tasty as well but we felt that for the price, it wasn't worth it.

We'll likely be back again but stick to the baos.“

“Came here for dinner and ordered the special for two. We were seated right away, which is always a great start. The service stood out—our hostess was incredibly friendly and attentive, checking in on us throughout the meal.

Food came out quickly. The soup wasn’t quite my personal style, but the entrees more than made up for it—everything tasted fresh, well-cooked, and flavorful, and the meat was especially tender.

“They have some of the best chimichurri sauce around within a 1hr drive so, worth it. No complaints, service is timely, food is always goods, employees are always on point. If anything try to go early as some of their empanadas do sell out. You can snack for under 10$ or have a full meal for around 20$ Location is great too, indoor and outdoor seating.“

“I’m not usually in the San Mateo area, but I happened to be nearby with a friend for some tech-related work and decided to place an online order from Udon Mugizo for the first time. It was a Saturday and the restaurant was clearly very busy, so I expected the pickup to take a while, but everything was ready smoothly and the person who helped me, possibly the manager, was genuinely kind and attentive even with so much going on. I was honestly impressed by the quality of the food too. Everything tasted fresh, carefully prepared, and much better than I normally expect from an online order. “More of a restaurant for individual meals than for family style. Prices are quite high for some more simple dishes like $20 for string beans is a little steep. I also found it weird that their Dandan noodles were hot.

Their bento boxes and beef noodle soup look good though, and I'll definitely try those in the future.“

“Found this when I look for Korean restaurant that serve noodle soup. This restaurant is next to hospital which I think in a good location. Next to it is boba shop which I saw some customer went to the the boba shop after their meals.
The interior is very simple, with couple tables and the dishes photo all over the wall which looks inviting.
The menu is pretty complete with many varieties of Korean dishes. We order Spicy Seafood noodle soup and Stir fried noodles with black bean sauce.
They give 3 type of banchan, daikon, beansprout and kimchi. The kimchi is sweet and later I saw it is from a big jar that you can get from grocery store. I wish they make it fresh in the restaurant. At least if have it from jar, don't show the jar.
The noddle soup is yummy but not spicy. the Stir fried noodle is served with hot iron plate. the presentation is good but I just feel it is too sweet.
The server is very nice and very energetic. Only one server serves all the tables.
Overall it was ok meals. May be next time we will try other dishes and wish they make the kimchi in house.“

“Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! My Chinese friend said, “This tastes just like the food my dad used to make when I was a child.” I think that says it all. Authentic, comforting, and full of flavor. We will definitely be back!“

“First time trying Laka! I was really craving Hainan chicken, so I ordered half a roasted pork and half a Hainan chicken to go. Overall, the food was really good, and I’ll definitely be back! The gentleman who carved the roasted pork was also very kind, which I appreciated.

Just a heads-up for first-timers: the minimum order for roasted pork is half a pound, so you can’t order just a quarter pound. ( in case u try to order for 1 )

My only real complaint is the ginger sauce. For half a chicken, they only provided one container, which I felt wasn’t enough. When I asked for an extra one, I was told it would cost $1. Honestly, I think 50 cents would be more reasonable for a small container of sauce, especially when you’re already ordering a meal to go. I had also left a tip on my takeout order, so being charged another dollar for extra ginger sauce felt a little disappointing.

The food is delicious, and the service was kind for the butcher, the lady could have been more kinder but I wish they were a little more generous with the ginger sauce or included at least two containers with half a chicken. It’s a small detail, but it would make the takeout experience so much better! Total cost $32 takeout“
