Really good hong kong/cantonese style food. Service is very good. Feels like home. Also suprisingly good price.

Laka is a restaurant known for its breakfast offerings and affordable pricing, making it a popular choice in the Bay area. The restaurant opens early and serves a variety of breakfast menus, including Cantonese style dishes. Customers appreciate the set meals, particularly enjoying options like roasted duck, which is noted for being juicy and fatty. The hot and sour noodles also receive positive remarks, alongside the congee, although some diners mention that it comes with sliced ginger, which may not appeal to everyone.
While the food quality is mostly viewed as decent, some reviews indicate that portion sizes can be small for the price. The service is described as minimal, with staff not always checking on customer needs. Additionally, there are occasional discrepancies in meal pricing, as one diner found they paid more for an à la carte order compared to a set meal that included similar items.
Overall, Laka offers a mix of experiences, with some dishes standing out for their flavor and value, while others may leave diners wanting more in terms of portion size and service attention.
