“This place is such a gem. I came here to work for a few hours and it was perfect. Cozy atmosphere, relatively quiet with nice background music, tasty and affordable food, nice service. I would highly recommend and return and even considering making it a good place to hang out for a bit before heading to the airport as I don’t live an hour away.Vegetarian options: Not a lot of vegetarian options but I think the atmosphere makes up for it. There are a few very limited selections like the berry oatmeal and the bagel. I believe there were a couple other things too.“
“This was a cozy spot to have lunch outside with my family. We ordered a few lunch items and snacks to bring home. I ordered the lunch special of the day, which was a beef stew. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try it out, but they gladly replaced it with the steak grilled with onions, which was delicious! The service was great and the lady at the cashier was very happy and patient with us! I would definitely come here again to buy more pao de queijo and try something new.“
“This is an excellent spot where breakfast is always excellent! This is the only place where I can order grits that are perfectly cooked and exactly how I remember them! I found this hidden spot when ordering on Door Dash; although I had lived in SSF for years and did not know about this hidden gem! Highly recommend! I will be ordering lunch soon as I am sure it will be just as good.“
“Lovely little coffee shop with a great pastry selection. I always go for savory over sweet, although this place has a lot of good sweet treats. My go to is their mocha made with dandelion chocolate. Quick personable service you won't regret“
“Had a wide selection of different things for anyone's palate. The people behind the counter were lovely. The food was fresh and wrapped so well it stayed warm even after waiting for the shuttle for almost forty minutes. The man behind the counter was so welcoming and helped me find my way to the shuttle stop when I was beyond lost. Overall 100/10 service. If I ever come back to South San Francisco this will be on my list of stops.“
“I've been coming here for years as I work nearby and it's one of very few dining spots in this area. The space is quite large and is great for hosting events. In the day time, the cafe and main dining area are open. In the afternoon/early evening, the other side opens which features a small bowling area with 2 lanes, a pool table, bar area with tables, and outdoor patio. Cafe - I highly recommend the lavender latte! This is hands down my favorite coffee from F&L. The cafe area has plenty of seating and plugs, so it's great for catching up in-person or working remotely on your laptop. The cafe also offers juices, pastries, Boichik bagels and breakfast burritos. Lunch - I don't have lunch regularly here but have enjoyed the fried chicken plate and BLT, which I believe are occasional specials. The F&L burger is also decent. Happy Hour - I like their crispy brussels and fries the best, but the lumpia is also good and surprisingly authentic!“
“Great place and me and my bf ordered some food.He got steak and eggs whereas I got pancakes with butter and maple syrup! His steak was as he wanted plus it's tender with soft runny eggs.Mine were fluffy but had a hint of nutmeg.Overall, the experience was more akin to a homely countryside diner than one in the city.Dietary restrictions: You can ask about such restrictions but don't exaggerate what you have as nobody has time to listen to you complain.Make it to the point and don't drone on...Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly but don't push it and bring 7 kids to a crowded restaurant!Wheelchair accessibility: It's accessable and staff will help you out if you get stuck in the door.“
“Typical diner food choices but prepared really well, not heavy with grease and salt but still plenty of flavour. Their French toast and waffles are served with real pale syrup. The coffee is good. This place is just good!!! Solid and reliable.Vegetarian options: Good veggie omplets, scrambles and eggs Benedict. The country potatoes are great and all the beige foods vegetarian eat. Or not. I'm not a Veg-head so not sure what the heck they deem as food.“
“Excellent service and delicious food. Really loved the freshness of the crudo and the sandwich was very rich and perfect for sharing. Obviously great wine with a good selection of glasses and bottles available. Best to make a reservation because it's on the small side but definitely with a try.“
“Hands down THE best croissant in San Francisco. But they have so much more than that. Pates, quiches, desserts - and they all look so Parisian. Walking in is an exercise in self control. But the good news is, if you do cave in, it’s worth it!“
“This place is the bomb. They know how to make the desserts and they’re not afraid to showcase that! I’ve tried the pistachio eclair and it was so unbelievably good. I am very happy. I still remember how good that was so if you are in mood of craving desserts or you need to impress your guest this is the place ! The balance on sweetness tartness is just perfect. I loved it. Can’t wait to be back.!“
“Best breakfast burrito of my life hands down. The tater tots were crispy, eggs were flavorful and not dry, tortilla was warm and fresh. What a fantastic burrito. Also had a delicious piña fresa agua fresca. On top of the great food they are able to churn out orders so even though it was very busy the wait wasn’t bad at all.“
“Absolutely a hidden gem! I got a chileajo tamale and a Oaxacan hot chocolate. The tamale came with a sauce that was smoky, a little spicy, and the perfect compliment to the tamale. And it was only $6! Hot chocolate was also delicious and made by hand at our table. So happy to have found this place and would recommend to anyone visiting the Mission.“
“First time here but had heard good things about New Taraval Cafe from others and it lived up to the rumors! I ordered the Smash Burger with grilled onions ($13) and it was fantastic! The burger had two patties and was so thick I couldn't fit my mouth around it. The whole thing was so moist (in a good way) that I couldn't keep it together. It was at least a three napkin burger and even then, the juices were running down my hands and wrists! It came with a side ofries and they were good as well. The only thing I would've wanted along with this burger would be a nice thick milkshake, but my calorie count would've never allowed it! Didn't even look to see if they offered shakes! My friend had the scrambled eggs with hash browns, toast, and bacon and she really enjoyed her meal. The eggs were cooked medium, so they looked moist. There were five strips of bacon (that's a LOT of bacon), all fried nice and crisp. The hash browns looked delicious; lots of crunchy parts and soft insides. She had two slices of sourdough toast with butter and jam, too, and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice (you can see the machine near the cooking area). This is a great neighborhood find. Lots of people seem to know about this place; there was a line when we arrived at 12:30 and had to wait about 15 minutes for a table although space at the counter opened up before that. I noticed a fruit plate going by that had a great mixture of fresh fruit on it, so everything seems to be fresh here. I'll definitely go back to try other items!“
“Great spot for excellent coffee, friendly baristas and a pure SF vibe to it all. Besides coffee and pastry offerings, Cafe Suspiro has a well curated selection of books and vinyl to shop. It’s a cafe definitely worth going out of the way for.“
“This has become our go-to cake for our birthdays, and we love it! The chocolate imperial cake is our favorite and it is a chocoholics dream. I never share it with anyone because it so darn tasty! It is pricier than a lot of other cake places, but well worth the money for a special occasion.“
“I only tasted the pain au chocolat and the choux and I was won over. The cabbages are super good, the taste is fine and sought after. The pain au chocolat is worth a French one. The place is pleasant and the staff welcoming. Only remark: the tea served in a small half-full mug, a little too light for my taste, even if I am used to European portions.“
“Absolutely adorable place!! Seating is mostly all outdoors but that's the best part of it! So much greenery and cute plants! Food is also tasty, and service is fast even on a Sunday morning. I think it'll become one of my fav go to spots. Just can't beat the vibes!“
“The food tastes amazing and the delivery driver was punctual although having said that, wax paper would keep the cheese from ripping up patches of cardboard after it slightly cools in transit and the butter for the pancakes was off to the corner mostly absorbed into the container and started to revert back to a solid.it would have been more efficient to package it in a sauce cup.the whole bottom layer of eggs ended up being inedible and the 7.50 delivery charge made the drivers tip uneconomical on a $20 dollar order.“
“The buns here are really good. The bread was incredibly soft and airy with such a delectable milky-sweet flavor. Beef curry filling was okay but BBQ pork was excellent. Decent amount of filling, no red dye, and absolutely delicious. Pork floss bun is also amazing if you're looking for something more savory.“
“I was visiting the city and stopped by for some breakfast with friends which turned out to be the best decision ever! We had the everything bagel with cream cheese, croissant with egg and cheese, and croissant with tuna, tomatoes, lettuce, and hot sauce (if not more items). The food was rich in flavour and the staff are incredible and very nice. We stopped by the next day for some more croissants with egg and cheese!“
“Il Canto Cafe is pretty awesome. Hella convenient for me because my office is upstairs. Back in the day, this used to be a Tully's coffee. To the right of it used to be a pretty busy Chinese restaurant. All that is gone now. This morning I got really hungry and weren't quite ready for lunch yet. The guy said good morning to me when I went out for a cigarette, so I decided to try their breakfast croissant (cheese egg sausage) $7. It was tasty! It hit the spot and I was ready for work again. Take-out service was excellent.“
“My team ordered catering from Hungry Cafe and everyone raved about the food! Mo was super responsive to our outreach and he and his colleague Ryan went above and beyond to ensure our group had a great experience. The Southeast Community Center is also a beautiful space filled with awesome local nonprofit organizations and other community-oriented people. 10/10 would recommend!“
“Belly is pretty lean with not much fat in terms of extras to entice. But what they serve, they do well. It has a young start up vibe with good precious offerings, a limited interesting menu for a bakery that also does lunch. It’s pretty much outdoor seating only sans the shade and expect a line. We are told by the counter staff it takes eight minutes to heat the savory mushroom pie or corn pastry with an egg inside. Everything was tasty.Personally I prefer muffins containing an egg to be soft boiled rather than hard, such as the morning muffin at Post Script on Jackson street which can’t compare to anything else. It was a fun place to try and I brought a couple of cookies home to try. The matcha latte was excellent, sweetened with brown sugar. I like that they use good ingredients on their spare cuisine. I do think they might expand the menu a tad.“
“Came for a Too Good to Go. Paid 7$ for a full box that can make 2 meals honestly. It’s not with the 21$ expected for sure, but it’s still a very good deal, especially in this district !Everything was really goodHot when I went to pick it up“
“Super cute cafe with amazing drinks and food with hints of Asian influence. I ordered the black sesame latte and the ricotta yuzu toast. The toast was especially impressive in the way in brought together a variety of flavors. Everything about the interior was modern. cozy and picturesque and I had really enjoyed staying here and working on sketches.I do want to note that I arrived on a Friday around 2pm and the place was pretty packed and their pastries had already sold out. I would come back earlier next time for the croissants :)“
“You can't beat getting a hot beverage when you are chilly at the ocean! This place has a beach vibe. It's right at the city light rail turnaround for the N-Judah, which you can take to the beach and enjoy lunch at this cafe.Vegetarian options: I didn't see the menu, but they had hot chocolate, which is vegetarian, if not strictly vegan. They had oat milk, though, which is nice.“
“As an ube lover, it made my day to find this place! They serve ube pastries from Ube Area and also specialty drinks including the Ube Matcha Latte. I got the ube tiramisu (are you kidding me!!) and the ube pandan brownie - you cannot go wrong with these! The barista was so kind and helped answer any questions I had and she was the one that recommended the tiramisu for me. It's more of a local cafe for the neighborhood so it was pretty quiet - there were a few bar seats by the window and a big table at the back.“
“Such a cute and different coffee shop. I had the Honeybee latte and a tomato quiche. The latte was far better than I expected- perfect balance of sweet and flavorful. Not overly sweet at all! The quiche was very flavorful and moist and the crust was buttery and flaky. I ordered mine to go but I thoroughly enjoyed the decor while I waited for my order to be made. Cute little details all over the place. The hand doodled coffee sleeve was a fun and adorable touch. Looking forward to returning on my next visit to Burlingame.“
“Esther and Giuliano, are just two amazing people! We stopped here purely based on reviews, and it did not disappoint. The coffee was absolutely wonderful! My wife is the coffee drinker and said her latte was one of the best she's ever had. I'm not big on coffee, but if we lived near here I'd come everyday because the coffee was so good. But what truly sets them apart is their hospitality. From the moment we walked in until we left, they were both so sweet and genuine. This will be a must stop everytime we're in SF from now on.“
“There's always a line!I visited the store just after peak hours, but it was always crowded. There were also sandwiches, Danish pies, croissants, cakes, and tarts. The bread we ordered was very delicious.Desserts also seem to be popular, so I'd like to try their popular desserts next time. The croissant was crispy and very tasty. There was also space to eat inside. The taste, location, atmosphere, everything is great.“
“What a beautiful coffee shop! Lots of outdoor seating too. I loved that this was just a few steps from our airbnb when we visited SF. they have lots of options and everything was delicious. I love a chai latte so of course I ordered the ginger and turmeric chai. Wow!! So flavorful and so delicious. Spicy!! My hubby got the vanilla latte and their vanilla was wild! Sooo good. Better than any vanilla latte I've ever had. Great spot to check out!“
“TLDR: tasty Latin inspired vegetarian food with outdoor seating4.5 starsWe ordered the rice bowl which had great flavors with the nuts and the brown rice is the best brown rice I’ve ever hadThe Hugo Street was so flavorful with tamale at the bottom but a little bit too much sauce made the bottom parts too salty“
“They have great bread. And the croissants, unbeatable, accompanied by an excellent coffee with milk (latte). At the bar is Héctor, a very nice guy from Navarra (Spain). And there is another very friendly Belgian girl who gives you conversation if there is no queue.“
“Attention Chocoholics! When you're in San Francisco ----- This is the real deal! Recently visited the Ferry building in San Francisco and found this gem of an artisan small batch chocolate company. Three letters. OMG. The staff were super friendly. It was a cute small unassuming open store front with a little area to order grab-n-go style. The storefront was very clean, tidy and premium products were nicely and orderly displayed. The menu felt well thought out and artisan. It was a cool brisk overcast day and their hot chocolate was an absolute choclatey creamy treat! It oozed quality and premium ingredients. A true taste bud experience for people who can appreciate the "real-deal" of artisan hot chocolate and love chocolate in general. It was so good, I had to go back a second day and order the drinking chocolate, which was quite rich, but a true decadent slow sipping experience packed with silky deep flavor. The other treats looked really tempting as well! This is definitely forever on my go-to list when visiting San Francisco. I highly recommend. You can visit their website as well and sign up for a tour of their chocolate making facility. It looks like an awesome experience too!“
“A cute Russian bakery cum coffee shop in Richmond district. I tried their veg Piroshki and it was delicious. The coffee was also great and I’ll definitely be back for other flavors. Great option if you are interested in exploring some Russian delicacies.“
“Good coffee, but on the pricier side for the size. The orange blossom is my favorite. The golden goat is good (though I am a big fan of goat cheese so that is probably a good indicator of whether or not to try it). Nice staff, animal friendly.“
“LOVE LOVE LOVE this gem! I drove twice in the past week to OBF for food and NA drinks. They have Athletic Run Wild IPA on draft! The staff is friendly and generally very happy to have you there and be a part of their day. The food is DELISH! Breakfast, lunch, coffee, refreshing NA drink to enjoy outside or inside. It is worth the drive for me to not be laughed at when I try to order an NA beverage and have a tons of options.“
“My wife and I really enjoyed our dinner at Acova. The menu is very interesting and varied. My wife had fish and chips and I chose the beef short ribs. Both dishes were super. Our server was helpful and attentive. We appreciate the fairly low noise level so we could have a comfortable conversation. Thank you.“
“Very pretty and quiet cafe that sits in a peaceful area! I came here in the morning, and I ordered one of the breakfast burritos, and the presentation was beautiful! The coffee was pretty good, but I wouldn’t leave without trying their food primarily. I would definitely come here often if I lived in the area.“
“My hot matcha drink is made with Matcha powder that is organic and from Japan. The soy milk is organic too. Friendly service. The heat is on and kept cozy on a chilly day. I’m glad I stumbled upon this spot when in need of a little pick-me-up :)“
“A bite of Paris in the heart of Downtown SF. Breads are fresh, meats are plenty, and the love in the preparation of the food is felt at each table. The menu was as joy to browse over to see what I will come back to get next. Thank you Chef Michael for the wonderful meal!“
“Le Dix-Sept is definitely the place to be in SF! Every item on the menu is a delight, making it hard to choose just one. Personally, I can't get enough of their cacio e Pepe focaccia and berry butter scotch bar. The pastries and focaccia are divine, and the service is exceptional. You can truly taste the love and care in every bite.“
“Beautiful European style coffee shop service fresh salads, sandwiches, and pastry. I went in today and the hospitality was amazing. Coffee properly done in the espresso machine and Callí (?) was so helpful. If I worked in the area, I’d go everyday. Their ham cheese croissant was so nice. It really felt like I was in Paris or Rome.“
“This is a germ hidden in the hood ;) food is yummy and nice presentation even with take-out order. Parking is easy there. They even have an area for local artist to leave their item to sell. It's a self-service cafe. Simple and open environment , good for meet up and work remotely.“
“Cute place located inside a parking garage. Look for the Wells Fargo to enter - very close to Union Square and sandwiches you will remember. They are great about customizing there as well - I got the black bean vegetarian sandwich and I'm still remembering it months later! Check out the unique KitKat selection there - flavors like churro and birthday cake KitKats!Vegetarian options: Excellent black bean vegetarian sandwich and they customize with the bread and spreads!“
“Basic coffee and sandwich spot in a medical facility meets changing your mind about how to eat a healthy but tasty breakfast while having to deal with our countries medical systems. Worth a stop if you happen to be in the area. Definitely worth it to share with a friend in care.“
“It was a pleasant surprise when I found this place in Chinatown. Super cute interior and superb food! It’s a perfect place for Sunday brunch. And it was not even crowded on Sunday. The circular French toast was one of the best I’ve tasted. Will definitely come back.“
“The ambiance here is totally old school San Francisco and an experience in itself. Cozy - okay a bit tavernish - but very welcoming. Drinks are far more reasonably priced than the nearby establishments and tables were full of friends (all ages) socializing or like us waiting to go on to their dinner reservation. Only food is saltines and a wedge of cheese - it's hilarious but works. In a city where so much has become the same with cool restaurants and stylish bars - it's a breath of fresh air - something I never thought I would say. We loved it and will be back.“
“This was a great meal to start the day. With lots of options from breakfast to dinner this is a perfect place for any time of the day. I had the souvlaki which came with soft pita and lots of tzatziki which I loved. The salad and fries were also a great side. My boyfriend had the home run and he said the sandwich was good and the hash browns were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The service was great as well! We chose a table outside and it was a little dirty but they quickly noticed and wiped it down for us. Parking can be found on the street.“
