“Nice spot... It's kinda hidden (unless you know where to look for it); I like the chocolate dipped nut cookie selections. Nice place to get a good cookie and sit and chill. Not much else to so say, other than worth a stop in and at least look and try, and I think you'll be pleased. Service was good, and atmosphere was nice, not much going on when I went by however, based on the space, looks like it could have things going on during certain times of day and year.Parking: Street parking, could get kind of busy depending on day and time go, however, seemed like plenty of street parking around, and is in a nice area to walk around; also noticed that was on bus line, and it stops right across street (if that is your form of transportation).“
“Super cute cafe with amazing drinks and food with hints of Asian influence. I ordered the black sesame latte and the ricotta yuzu toast. The toast was especially impressive in the way in brought together a variety of flavors. Everything about the interior was modern. cozy and picturesque and I had really enjoyed staying here and working on sketches.I do want to note that I arrived on a Friday around 2pm and the place was pretty packed and their pastries had already sold out. I would come back earlier next time for the croissants :)“
“Such a cute and different coffee shop. I had the Honeybee latte and a tomato quiche. The latte was far better than I expected- perfect balance of sweet and flavorful. Not overly sweet at all! The quiche was very flavorful and moist and the crust was buttery and flaky. I ordered mine to go but I thoroughly enjoyed the decor while I waited for my order to be made. Cute little details all over the place. The hand doodled coffee sleeve was a fun and adorable touch. Looking forward to returning on my next visit to Burlingame.“
“Esther and Giuliano, are just two amazing people! We stopped here purely based on reviews, and it did not disappoint. The coffee was absolutely wonderful! My wife is the coffee drinker and said her latte was one of the best she's ever had. I'm not big on coffee, but if we lived near here I'd come everyday because the coffee was so good. But what truly sets them apart is their hospitality. From the moment we walked in until we left, they were both so sweet and genuine. This will be a must stop everytime we're in SF from now on.“
“Very good food, lots of options great service nice employees, not too expensive but in a sort of strange location. But I do go here semi constantly. I would recommend you try once if you are a fan of sandwiches, just know they are quite big so do not expect to eat the whole thing while you are there.“
“Ist time here and impressed. Wanted coffee in a real cup and almond croissant and stayed for the ambiance! Italian music playing in the background and a window seat to view the creek. Talk about relaxing ☺️ A lot of locals here so I know they've found a great spot!!!They offer breakfast and lunch, will have to try these another time. Can imagine this spot with the umbrellas on a summer morning. Give it a try ❤️“
“One of my favorite places. 1st, it has the best and friendliest service of anywhere in town! The food never disappoints. I like to go earlier in the evening before it gets too crowded and noisy. I don’t like to eat a meal with a friend when it’s too loud to have a conversation. Would recommend this place for great service and food!“
“This cafe is like going to your favorite aunt or grandmas house who is really good at cooking and baking. There is a menu but it seems more like they make what they want and sell what they have - feels very quaint and homemade Tonkatsu sandwich - big pork cutlet with a squishy bun and a generous portion of finely shredded cabbage. Yummy and crispy, pork was a touch dry. Matcha cornet was delicious, great flavor w the cream and nice soft cornet Melon pan - did not get much melon fragrance and felt a bit dry/stale, but great crisp sugar top. There's some chocolate inside the bread which I did not expect.“
“Went for Breakfast Food - 4/5. The meat lovers sandwich, while having decent ingredients, had a very dry texture. Bacon was crispy and the ham scramble was on the drier side. Bread was toasted plainly, which added to the dry nature of the entire sandwich. The cheese added some softness, but textural wise, it could've used some variety. Hash browns were browned well with a nice bite. Service - 4/5. You order from the counter first than they bring out the food. Quick and friendly. Value - 3/5. Breakfast sandwiches come with a good amount of filling and hash brown sides. Price is on the expensive side for what they are, being $16.50 for most. Parking - Mall Lot (Free)“
“Love this coffee shop. It is family owned. Seems many are regular. The owner is nice. It is a small shop which serves coffee, pastries and regular american breakfast like egg and sandwich. It has indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered almost croissants and latte. Price is reasonable and it is cheaper than other coffee shops. The croissant is yummy and fluffy. The latte is good and light. Will visit again and try the sandwich.“
“I was pretty impressed with my visit to Royal Donut Cafe. I didn't come for their donuts, but for their breakfast and they had some of the best country fried steak I've had a in a while. The interior is very dated so that might turn some people off, but they are expanding the restaurant and taking over the space next door. They said that there is a possibility that they open for dinner in the future too. Staff were very friendly as well. Parking in the area is certainly a pain in the area, but there are paid parking lots near by. Country Fried Steak & Eggs ($15.95) was what I ordered and it was massive. I was stuffed after eating it and the steak had the perfect breading. The sausage gravy was very tasty and the hash browns were also a large portion. The eggs they also cooked really well and they don't overcook them like I accidently do at home because I love runny eggs. It is definitely worth a visit here although I have no input on their donuts or pastries personally. Their breakfast is top tier though and you get large portions. Would recommend this breakfast spot to anyone in the area.“
“Fantastic latte prepared and served up by the owner. Loved the laid back vibe of the place. Life slowed down when I went in. I was not rushed to order, the owner was not rushed in preparing my coffee, and I took time to indulge in every amazing sip amongst other laid back patrons. Also, great downtown location. I was visiting, but I wish I lived in San Mateo so I could frequent this place regularly. If you find yourself there don't miss it. If you are commuting through, jump off the train and walk over. Definitely worth it!“
“Super cute cafe, comfortable seats, tasty coffee & treats, very friendly staff! They can also make any of their drink menu with decaf coffee- perfect for those who aren’t able to indulge with full strength coffee but want to have a taste! I’m so excited to have a fun cafe in the neighborhood!“
“I've been having breakfast at Peter's Café for more than 10 years. Service is always good. Food is always good. Portions are substantial. They have an extensive menu and a mind case I can order a hamburger for breakfast highly recommend as a place to go for breakfast or lunch. They are not open for dinner.“
“I love this spot! Good food, desserts & pastries and nice ambience. They have food displays so you can visually know how your dish will look like. You order first then seat yourself, and usually have quick service but seating can be hard to get on weekends around noon if the weather is nice for the outdoor section, but I've always managed to find a spot. Their Dirty Bird salad, Breakfast Bowl, bruschetta and fresh pastries and Central latte are amazing! A bit pricy for breakfast overall but I think its normal for Burlingame/California prices. For parking, there are several lots and street parking, all meter parking for this part of town.“
“I found Cafe 2k the other day and I'm glad I did. Located at 2000 Alameda de las Pulgas in San Mateo in an office complex. They have plenty of great choices for breakfast and lunch. There was a line at lunch but it moved pretty fast. I recommend Cafe 2k.“
“This cafe is soooooooo good! It's a typical menu, but their food is so flavorful! Their potatoes are seasoned so well. My favorite is their oatmeal pancakes since I've never had oatmeal pancakes anywhere else... but here... Their service is amazing too. I got to-go for the first time since I usually like eating on site since it's located at Burlingame Ave and it's a good brunch place especially on hot days. Our usual server Laura was soooo sweet & accomodating. She was on top with asking us with our needs even with to-go orders! This cafe is for sure a go-to spot for me.“
“Rated this place five stars because it’s really the best no-nonsense brunch place I’ve been to in the Bay Area. The wait is short, the menu has amazing options, price is reasonable, and the food is of high quality and well presented. Sure, it’s not your typical elevated, extremely instagrammable type of brunch, but I prefer this to long waits and overpriced meals at other places.I’ve tried many of their toasts and croffles and they’re all phenomenal. Other favorites include the Denver omelette and ham&cheese crepe. The lattes are also great, with emerald matcha being my favourite!“
“Such a good spot with excellent food. We ordered a Cubano and a mocha for coffee, lite-eater and brekkie for food, and finally a pear tart. Everything was so good and we got to sit in the sunshine while enjoying it.Parking: Parking fills fast due to surfers. We parked in front of the grocery store“
“I work upstairs and this cafe has everything you could possibly want and need. Breakfast foods, coffee, boba, sandwiches, and desserts. Service is always quick and the ladies who work there are extremely nice. The mochi muffins are AMAZING. The chicken pesto is my favorite. You can't go wrong with any of the smoothies, boba, or coffee. Boba is a bit on the sweet side so I always ask for less sugar and they're able to accommodate me. So happy to have them in the building!“
“Small Cute local spot that offers delightful freshly made donuts and breakfast fare. Limited seating both indoor and outdoor covered patio. Has own private lot parking. Takes credit cards. Come in, line up, give your order first, and then grab a number and find seating. Cute and yummy eats. Friendly staff. Popular for take out donut orders! Definitely glad it was recommended to us as first timers. Definite recommend, as well!“
“Perhaps, I should Yelp my generous friends who have given me opportunities to try foods that I'd normally not try. This one was totally unexpected as I was meeting a friend at his workplace to exchange some items. When I pulled into the parking lot, he was waiting in front of his building which is next to this location. As we exchanged bags, he handed me an extra bag, telling me that, due to our 1 pm meeting time, I didn't have lunch. Having run a morning errand in Chinatown, I actually had my meal in my office waiting; I know, what a considerate friend. When I returned to work about twenty minutes later, I took a picture of the meal and placed it in the refrigerator, knowing I'd enjoy this later in the week. He got me a patty melt with french fries ( something I haven't eaten since the Lucky Penny on Masonic closed since that's where I ate my last one. With my new education in restoring leftovers, I reheated the patty melt ( and fries ( They were still delicious two days later and my meal was filling. I especially loved that they gave several packets of Hunt's ketchup (my childhood favorite) which paired perfectly with the fries. Thanks to my thoughtful and generous friend, I had the pleasure of enjoying this throwback meal. He mentioned their prices being reasonable and that their spaghetti was pretty good. Guess I better keep my eyes open for their weekly menu.“
“It's a nice place that has a mom-and-pop feel. High ceilings and seating outside and at the back give you many choices. When I was there, a woman played Christmas songs on the piano. I didn't try the food since I only had a coffee for the occasion. The coffee (regular latte) was ok. I thought it was really bland and not even a hint of acidity. But all in all, it's a nice place to sit and people-watch while in Half Moon Bay.“
