“This place is the*chefs kiss*! I ordered the healthy bowl and I’m not sure how healthy it actually is lol. It tasted so good. They give you lots of vegetables and an egg on top. You also get your choice of protein and you can add Korean fried chicken for a dollar. Of course got the KFC with the soy glaze. Definitely trouble when it comes to your work!“
“I have been going here ever since it opened. It is a little pricey but so worth it. When you walk in the place is pretty big and clean. You are greeted right away upon walking in. This time around, we ordered online for pick up and ordered a few items we haven't tried. We ordered:1. Bulgogi fries - I was surprised how good it was. I wasn't expecting much since they are known for their chicken.2. Potstickers - Crunchy and soft in the middle. I love how they drizzle the sauce on top.3. Popcorn shrimp - of course, the shrimp was not the biggest, but it was so addictive. Something about the batter being crunchy and chewy, once you eat one, you can't stop.4. House fried rice (bulgogi) - very flavorful, but the rice was a little too sticky to my liking and a little too sweet.5. Korean Fried Chicken with soy glaze - Alwaus got you smacking. It's so crunchy and not overly saucey. This goes great with the pickled radish.6. Korean donuts - I don't know why, but I had high expectations. I was disappointed. It was just a regular sugar doughnut. I was expecting it to be chewier, like with rice flour. If you're thinking about it, don't bother. It's not worth the price.Overall, you can never go wrong with going here.“
“I get the hype - food is delicious. We had a galbi bibimbap and the braised beef rib / oxtail kalbijjim. So flavorful and meat very tender. We were 4 people and probably would have been full with just the large kalbijjim, as we had trouble finishing everything. Servers were really friendly and kept the banchan plentiful. Also, the kimchi was one of the better kimchi’s I’ve had. Great meal, I will be back!Parking: Large public parking lot across the street“
“Came here with a reservation and needed to wait about 5 minutes to get seated. I was sat at the bar in the back which could see into the open part of the kitchen which was fun to watch preparation and plating. I really enjoyed the pancake with mountain yam. I thought the lettuce/greens basket was fresh with good variety. Service was very friendly.“
“Food, service, atmosphere all satisfactoryOrdered Jjajangmyeon, Jjambbong, sweet and sour pork, walnut shrimp, and fried dumplings.Everything was delicious and the portions were plentiful. The owner was really friendlyBe sure to find parking on the nearby streets, and be sure to bring your luggage with you to avoid getting lost!“
“A gem. SF is so lucky to have a place like this to call its own. Non-caricature chef’s tasting: in every bite you feel the chef’s soul and peer into his vision (if you frequent nyc fine dining or read Pete Wells’ piece on Nōksu, fair or not, you know what I mean.) Seasonal ingredients, personified in the chef’s diverse culinary journey.During the winter months, be sure to round up a crew of 4-6 and pre-order the king crab. The vibe is cali-convivial, in the best sense of laid back but get it done way.Early weekday seating, the restaurant is sparsely seated and it feels like you are a guest in chef’s home, warm and inviting.“
“Really good experience and good value for money. We went as a family and enjoyed the ritual ofgrilling together. Super professional and friendly service in a genuine (but simple) setting. Quality of food was really good, but no expensive or luxurious cuts - still however good value for money.DO NOT bring clothing you need to wear again as ventilation is really poor and the BBQ smell is strong - you will need to wash!!“
“We usually get the hash brown sandwich with my partner. It’s always delicious and very simple looking breakfast, with lots of flavor. They are faster than F1 fast car.!!! Friendly environment. Parking on street is pretty much available during the morning since not much people is there. This one of the many pictures in the table which makes the place pretty interesting to look at.“
“The food was good, but definitely not worth the price tag, with the exception of the uni toast (10/10), the pasta, and the oysters. The steak tartare barely tasted like steak, and nothing other than the uni was worth coming back for. Dessert was pretty good though. Ambiance was also very casual, but not “
“Go now for brunch before it blows up!!!Omg not only are their brunch items so aesthetically beautiful they are DELISH!!!We had the fluffy cakes, the Benedict Sando, and the 1398 Rancheros. The Benedict Sando was deconstructed- sandwich and then a dish of delicious poached eggs in mustardy hollandaise sauce. Wow!! The bulgogi on the rancheros was delicious and sooo flavorful, and spiced very mildly- not too spicy at all. The fluffy cakes stole the show. I even used a few of the dry cakes to sop up my Benedict sauce. Yum yum yum!!!!Also service was great, not slow at all, and super attentive. They ran out of the Thai iced tea and replaced it immediately with another beverage. Very thoughtful.“
“Love this spot! The service is very welcoming and friendly, and the food tastes like a Korean home cooked meal. They don't mess around with flavor here!I would say everything on the menu is a must try, but my favorites are the Hangover Soup, Fried Chicken w/ Yuzu Sauce, and Corn Cheese (addicting). An honorable mention would be the stuffed mushrooms.Lastly, the restaurant is a fun vibe with great music. They have an event almost every week so check out their IG for a party!“
“Came here for a 13-person birthday dinner and they were able to accommodate really well. I even brought in my own baked cake and they were able to store and later serve it!Their hits are definitely the galbi, I also liked their pork belly, japchae, steamed egg.One of the better kbbq joints in SF!“
“As a Korean-American, I hate Korean fusion or Korean flavor/influenced food. But, please TRUST when I say the kalbijjim pastry is soooo good. I thought it'd suffice because I needed something thick to take with my meds. I was pleasantly surprised as it was not heavy, nor was it excessively sweet. It did not have too much of that soy sauce + sugar taste that other places put in too much of. It was so perfect. I shoved it in my mouth as I was turning right, crushing the box on my lap, with a cop on the corner staring at me like I was so dumb to do this in front of him. It was worth it. Anyway, the lines aren't too bad as it goes by, and they are very nice there.“
“I love the Crammy Kimbap here!!! The crab and mayo combination is really satisfying and contrasts the pickled veggies well. They don't skimp on the portions and the staff here are kind. If you're looking for a quick lunch spot or some takeout in the Chinatown area, this is a decent spot to check out!“
“Kiss My Seoul is a great reason to come to the alley across from Hall of Justice, even if you don't have jury duty. A very well priced, very large bowl of food, with many ingredients. I had the pork, it was seasoned beautifully. This is now my go-to when I want "Seoul Food". ??“
“We heard good things about Brothers so we decided to check it out, and as we came with four people, we went with the four people tasting menu. The 4 person tasting menu had kalbi, bulgogi, your choice of spicy pork or chicken, japchae, and spicy tofu soup. It also came with rice and banchan, which had a pretty good variety. There's a few points that makes Brothers a solid KBBQ place. The quality of the meats was pretty high quality, but that is to be expected considering the tasting menu was ~$36 per person. The portions are also solid as we were all feeling full after. The service was also quite good as they refilled our banchan quite quickly. Overall, I would say that Brothers is a solid choice for KBBQ in the city and would be happy to come back here again“
“Very good Korean fare in a laid back setting. Ollei serves up tasty late night grub and vibes in Russian Hill. The grill is burning, the meat is cooking, soups are boiling, the drinks are flowing and kpop is popping, this is a good Korean restaurant in San Francisco. Tasty food at an affordable price and where you can also go to throw a couple back as well. It was the perfect place to warm up on a cold SF night, food and drink wise. I’m definitely coming back to try various other dishes. Very good.Kid-friendliness: Not really“
“Well, how do you do! What a fantastic foodie find. Small shop that packs enormous flavor.Their kimchi fried is great with onions, kimchi & tiny squares of tofu that is seasoned to perfection. Jap chae with slivers of carrots, green onions and yellow onions. That galbi was a show stopper, grilled before my very eyes, lightly sauced tender to the touch it separated from the bone every so easily. The small portion of kimchi that's included is not enough. You can thankfully purchase a mason jar of kimchi. The portion sizes are fat kid pleasing.Go in pairs parking is terrible. They take cards“
“I've tried the Daeho in japantown SF and I've had the Daeho in San Jose...but I feel like this Daeho tastes the best??? I'm not sure if it's the meat quality, portion sizes, flavor or what but this is my favorite location out of all the Bay Area locations.Daeho specializes in galbi-jjim, which is Korean braised beef short ribs in the most delicious sauce. You MUST get the cheese on top because they torch it at your table and it makes for a great IG story haha. I also like to get rice cakes in it. The large size can feed a table of four. The spice level is kind of inconsistent among the chains or even on certain days. I usually get spicy and I thought it wasn't spicy, during my most recent trip. (Maybe my spice tolerance went up? Maybe the chef just made it less spicy?) If you're unsure what spice level you are, I would err on the side of less spicy because you can always add spicy to it later.Aside from the beautiful galbi-jjim, I think everything else on the menu is pretty good. I like to pair my galbi-jjim order with a cold noodle to offset the heat. I think the soups here are so good. Their galbi-tang (short rib soup) is perfect on a cold day.“
“This is my favorite place to get my Korean food fix in SF. Every time I come, the food is consistently delicious! The staff are friendly but leave you to enjoy your meal. Food comes out quick and fresh and hot! The banchan is plentiful. It takes me two busses or a train and a bus to get here from my house, and it is worth every minute of the journey.“
“3.5 stars - Excellent vibe and drinks. Service was friendly but slow. Food was just ok, and portions are small, so feels overpriced. Joodang is in the tenderloin, so inevitably, the area is a bit sketchy. This didn't stop us because I had been wanting to try this place since it opened! You just have to be careful and aware of your surroundings - nothing surprising if you're familiar with the TL. The exterior is quite unassuming. You could easily walk past it if you're not paying attention. The inside of the restaurant on the contrary is bright, modern, chic and clean. We had an early dinner reservation for 4 people on a Friday night and were cheerfully greeted and seated right away upon arrival. The restaurant quickly filled up, but I appreciated that the tables were comfortably spaced out and it didn't get too cluttered. They have Asian inspired cocktails. We each ordered a different one and they were all both aesthetic and delicious! We also ordered 2 bottles of soju to sip on throughout the meal. Loved how friendly and encouraging the staff was of us keeping the alcohol flowing! :-p Though the food was fine, I'd have to say the drinks were way more memorable than the food. Everything is meant to be shared, but be warned that the portions are quite small. We ordered: - Beef tartar: Tasted fresh, well balanced - Risotto: One of my favorite dishes of the meal. The portion was pretty small though. - Bulgogi tater tots: tbh can't remember what the official dish name was, but it was essentially loaded tots, topped with bulgogi. I enjoyed this dish and its flavors, but didn't find it to be particularly special. - Korean Fried Chicken: Portion size for this was extremely disappointing, as we just received a few wings on a plate. They were flavorful, but not worth ~$18. - Kim Chi Udon: Good flavors. I enjoyed the toppings too - Pork Belly Cheese Doboki - I will not be ordering this again next time. While it sounded promising, this was just way too pricey ($26) for a dish that lacked flavor. And unfortunately, the texture of the rice cake felt like it was microwaved from frozen. I really want to support Joodang still, and I hope they succeed. The staff was super friendly and nice. However, some of our food took a while to come out (which generally is fine), but we had to ask them to check on our order and also for the bill at least 2-3x. With that said, I really hope they can work out the kinks because they have a great concept and a lot of potential.“
“Value: 4.5/5Ambiance: CasualStumbled upon this restaurant after roaming Japantown. Such a great find. Our group ordered the Jokbal, seafood pancake, tteokbokki, spicy braised tofu, cheese pork tonkatsu, Jokbal fried rice, and kalbitang. Food was absolutely great and very comforting. Flavors hit home for me. Seafood pancake quality seems a bit better than comps around the city. Portions were sizeable and filling so the value is there. The reason I gave value a 4.5 is because some dishes are pricier than I'd expect. Service didn't miss.Overall, they didn't do anything wrong, dishes had authenticity, so no reason to take away a star.Would definitely come back again.“
“Decided on a late night fix for fried chicken and this hit the spot! Got the 6 piece hot and sweet with pickled radish and corn on the cob. Corn on the cob was a little bland but the chicken made up for it! Would definitely dine here again.“
“Food is amazing here! Everything from the short rib plate to burgers! The only thing better than the food is the people running it. Everyone is so friendly it's incredibly refreshing. James is usually at the register- awesome guy that treats you like family. Love it!“
“Nice place to enjoy a hot breakfast by UCSF Mission Bay area by 16 St. The menu offers sandwiches and Korean dishes. Excellent service by the lady in charge. The restaurant has an extensive menu for breakfast and great specials for lunch. Seating outside. Parking lot is free while you eat.“
“This is my favorite shop in H Mart food hall. They have good quality of traditional Korean Beef Rib Soup and Bone Soup. First time ordered beef rib soup noodle and noodle it’s chewy and taste better than ramen. Soup base has beef bone aroma too. Highly “
“I can’t believe I haven’t been here yet and I’ve passed this restaurant about a million times. For a native San Franciscan (40 year resident), something affordable without compromising the flavors and the service is a welcome deal! I’m definitely coming back here. Thanks to my professor and friend from SF State for treating me here.“
“The galbi jjim here is amazing! It's pretty pricey, but I don't mind because the food here is really good and I don't come too often. There're a ton of different things you can try. I like the modern atmosphere and I love how cute the menus are. They're like little gates that open up and welcome you in. Be careful if you don't like spicy food, though. The spice tolerance required for mild is already pretty high.“
“Servers are super friendly and kind. I think I would come back to try the jokbal, which seemed pretty good. Galbijjim - 3.5/5, the sauce had good flavor, slightly sweet and salty. It was a bit watery, so it didn't stick to the meat or veggies as well. The meat quality was mid, could find better elsewhere for the price. Stir fried squid - 4/5, lots of veggies with squid. The gochujang flavor is more prevalent here than other restaurants, which didn't bother me too much. If you prefer not to have a heavy gochujang flavor, this might not be for you. Seafood pancake - 4/5, nicely crisp with decent amount of seafood. Yum! Fried mandu - 4/5, typical fried korean dumplings. Good, hard to mess up.“
“Nice to have a neighborhood joint that serves Korean food! Nice decor place is conducive to group events. Fried chicken is good as is their kimchi fried rice. Also enjoyed the beef served with lettuce and condiments. My one complaint? I felt really short sitting at the bar, lol! The barstool to bartop height was a Challenge lol! Guess I will sit at a table next time!“
“I came by here while visiting a friend - we got to the restaurant around 7:30pm.The restaurant, on the outside, was very unassuming, however, upon entering, you find a warm and inviting dining interior. There are few booth seats near the entrance, with semi-see through privacy curtains. There was only one party of 2 ahead of us when we got there, but it was still a good 15-20 minute wait.We were seated in the back dining area, and got some drink orders in, as well as an order of spicy edamame.I ended up ordering the stir fried chicken gizzard, which came out sizzling on a serving tray. The gizzard was a bit tougher than I was expecting, but the flavor was good and paired well with the rice and beer. Not too bad overall, but I wish they had wifi, since their menu is via QR code, and signal is very spotty at the back dining room. They did have some printed menus on hand, but we ended up having to ask for them, since neither of us managed to get enough signal to view the online menu.Parking: There are a good number of street parking spots around the area, but they can fill up pretty quick.“
“Great place for a bite before the Orpheum. With so many closures in SF, its one of the few open eating near the theatre. That said, had a 4:30 reservation before the 7:30 show. Its was surprisingly full and looked like lots of theatre-goers. The service was excellent. The food was good. We had calamari and chicken wings appetizers, loco moco, and meatloaf entrees. Killed some time with coffee. Would recommend if you're going to the Orpheum.“
“It’s great to have this Korean option in San Bruno. Water is self service with tiny cups. There were only 6 bonchon dishes. Some restaurants have 10. Food was otherwise pretty good including Spicy Squid. Service was perfunctory. For the pancake, they don’t cut it for you, but leave you a butter knife.“
“A cute little restaurant perfect for lunch or dinner. The spicy ramen and steamy dol-sot bimbimbop was the perfect lunch for a cold and rainy day. The bimbimbop was so good we came back to have it for dinner a few nights later. The owners are super friendly, this is a great place.“
“My friends and I recently visited Joe's Ice Cream & Burgers, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. Nestled in the Richmond of San Francisco this gem of a spot offers a fantastic selection of ice creams and savory treats that will leave you craving for more. Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the ice cream! Joe's boasts an extensive array of flavors, making it a paradise for any ice cream enthusiast. After much deliberation, I opted for the bubblegum ice cream, and it was nothing short of amazing. The creamy texture combined with bursts of nostalgic flavor made every spoonful a true delight. But the goodness doesn't stop there. Joe's also offers a tempting selection of burgers and other savory options, promising a satisfying meal for those looking to indulge their taste buds further. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu offerings. Overall, our experience at Joe's Ice Cream & Burgers was nothing short of exceptional. With its wide selection of ice creams, inviting ambiance, and friendly service, it's no wonder this place earns a perfect 5/5 stars in my book. Whether you're craving a sweet treat or a hearty meal, Joe's has something for everyone. I'll definitely be back for more, and I highly recommend you pay them a visit too!“
“We have been coming here for years. The banchan is delicious and it comes with a small but delectable fried fish and brown rice tea. We usually get the soft tofu seafood soup and bulgogi to share. We have gotten the bibimbap which is amazing as the rice gets super crisp on the bottom from the stone dishes serving dish.“
“All the best ingredients. A vast Asian market with all the good finds. Frozen foods, dried foods, fresh seafood, hot take out. This place has it all. Great for small snacks or all the staples. Asian + American products. Ample parking, even on busy days, speedy lines.“
“Loved my experience here. I was craving a Sizzling Bibimbap with beef and Manna was closed. Decided to give this place a try and I'm so happy I did. I would highly recommend! Although there were several other tables I was seated right away. Service was quick & efficient. My Bibimbop came out sizzling hot!! I was so impressed because it stayed sizzling for a while even when I started eating it. The rice at the bottom was perfectly crispy without being over-burnt. It was absolutely delicious! Price was also very reasonable. Total came out to $22 with tip. I will definitely be coming back and trying other things on their menu like their stuffed mushrooms.“
“Both of us enjoyed our dinner though we dined on starters because the entrees seemed to fit the colder weather. My dining companion had the fennel soup, which presentation alone made you want to tuck in. She also had the potato pancakes that were plentiful. I had the tuna tartare with a delicious herb sauce & the outstanding, crunchy chick pea fries with a tangy harissa sauce. The fries alone will make me go back. We will be back.“
“Kitchen Woori catered our wedding and it was amazing! All of our guests (even the picky ones and kids) raved about how good the food was. We got the spicy pork (my favorite) and beef bulgogi (also super good), veggie fried rice (delicious!), sweet and sour popcorn chicken (zero leftovers), kimchi and veggie pancakes, cucumber salad (mom favorites) and seasoned broccoli. My partner and I highly HIGHLY recommend Kitchen Woori for your catering needs!“
“I think I could eat Purple Rice's Veggie Soft Tofu stew every day for the rest of my life. I've tried a number of Korean food places in the city and this has by far been the best and most consistently delicious. They're so accommodating with vegetarian/vegan modifications, service is always super quick and kind, and even the takeout is super high quality/great quantity. Their rice cakes jap chae are also delicious! Hope Purple Rice is around forever.“
“It was close to Powell Station and Union Square and tasted good. This is a restaurant I want to visit again the next time I visit San Francisco. It was a hidden jewelry where we found during our first San Francisco trip. I strongly recommend this restaurant when you miss Korean food.“
“Went here after watching a show in the area. A small quaint place that is open till late. The servers were really nice and friendly. We got kinchi fried rice with chicken and spicy sauce boneless fried chicken. The spicy sauce was more sweet and less spicy and I wish it were the other way around but overall food was decent.“
“Forgot to take a picture of this before I got almost half way through eating it. The green tea soft serve was delicious and not too sweet (just how I like it). The fish shaped waffle cone is delicious on it's own too: crunchy exterior, but still fluffy and cake like inside. The Taro filling in the waffle was a very nice sweeter addition overall too. Definitely the perfect treat to top off a beautiful sunny day outside!“
“My fav place to eat in FiDi. Delicious food and variety with seamless operation and friendly staff. Always make it my mission to support this business and I am not the only one. Situated in a shopping center that is mostly all closed, Julie’s is one of a few tenants (3 or so tenants) that single-handedly drives a majority of the foot traffic in this shopping center. People come in either ordering buffet or their deliciously selected menu items. You can never go wrong with Julie’s!“
“I’m a truck driver, just delivering in the area, this place was recommended to me by the owner who I was delivering to. Now I’m from the east coast, and those burgers hit home for me. 10/10 recommend !! The best burger I’ve had in a while. Service was amazing, nice friendly guy. Served in like 3 mins. Amazing“
“This is a nice space. We were a pretty large group, and they were able to accommodate us, but eating family style in that setting was pretty challenging. Environment is cozy and food is good, though it would be nice if they had more options for soju.“
“This is a place to go for good comfort food. The popularity of K-Grill has definitely grown. And well-deserved.The place is either packed or have a line of people during the normal lunch and dinner hour. It’s easier to get a table outside of the normal meal hours. The staff are friendly and nice, albeit a bit brusque because they are so busy. So they are super efficient too.Banchan and tea/water graces the table very quickly after an order is place. And everything that comes from this kitchen is delicious! The is the only K-restaurant where banchan includes a whole croaker for everyone. If I describe every dish, it would be a superlative on everything. I don’t think one can go wrong with anything on the menu. Just go with whatever category you feel like and a delicious meal will appear.Save a bit of the crunchy rice in the original rice container. Before the end of your meal, ask to have some hot tea added and enjoy it with any remaining banchan.“
“Tried this place for lunch. Menu had decent options. The food was not the best Korean but it was good. Service was very good and quick. Lunch portions are ideal, won't put you to sleep after. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area!“
“Best Korean BBQ restaurant in SSF! There are no grills for you to cook your own, but the meat based dishes are very full flavoured. Service request is with a bell installed at each table (love it). The ambient is well lit. Larger party friendly. Kpop videos playing on the screens. All that is expected in the best ways.Vegetarian options: There isn't much purely vegetarian dishes. If you are ok with meat mashed soup with vegetarian 'toppers' then you'll be fine with tofu soups, fried tofu, etc. Ban chans are veggies based.“
