“Please open a location in Southern California!
Filipino is my comfort food and this was comfort to the max. I dined here with family and we enjoyed the food and venue. Our servers were very attentive and refilled our water and rice without our asking. I ordered the kari kari with crispy pork belly and it was an experience nearly identical to that of the moment the Ratatouille food critic had when he bit into the bite of Remy's ratatouille dish.
The only bit of constructive feedback I had was that I wish the tables had lazy susans. My family and I ordered several different dishes and it was a workout passing serving dishes around and/or reaching across the table. Other than that, everything was a delight.
I'm excited to come back next time I'm in the bay area!“

“This place has been around for years but surprisingly, this was my first time here. When you walk in, it gives off the vibe that it used to look like the elegant but homey vibe. It still has the same vibe just a little worn. From the outside it is definitely a hole in the wall, you wouldn't think it was that big from the outside.
I think we were one of the first ones here? We were greeted and seated right away. It wasn't too busy when we went but you can see the regulars slowly coming in.
We ordered:
1. Nilagang bulalo - Hot and fresh for the cold afternoon. It was very meaty and had a variety of vegetables like carrots, potato, and bok choy
2. Pork sisig - I'm not sure why I was expecting it to come out sizzling, surprisingly it didn't. After mixing it the flavors were on point. It was the perfect amount of spiciness from the jalapenos, crunch from the onions, and saltiness from the soy sauce. This is one that I highly recommend, maybe even with a fried egg on top or garlic rice. It's also perfect as is with steamed rice.
3. Pinalutong tadyang- I thought this would be crunchy and hard. It was the opposite, it was tender and didn't need much to get it off the bone
4. Pancit bihon- I liked there was a lot of noodles and not all vegetables like some places.
Service was good, food was delicious, and reasonably priced. A lot cheaper compared to filipino restaurants nearby. It's not bougie, it's home style cooking good ol comfort food. I will be back soon and try their other items. The breakfast plates people were ordering looked delicious and the portions were generous.“

“If you’re wanting a breakfast bowl that’s savory, flavorful, and filling, this is the place to go. You’re able to customize your bowl and make it completely vegan! You can choose your type of rice, meat (vegan omnipork ham) and veggies. So impressed with all the new vegan options in the new terminal here at SFO!“

“I chose this spot for a girls’ brunch out I organized because it could accommodate a large group up to 10 people and the online reservation system through Toast was flexible, allowing me to make modifications leading up to and even during the week of our reservation date.
I’m very satisfied with this place as a brunch option. I prefer Asian fusion brunch to other brunch cuisines, so this place was ideal. Also, various members in my party, including myself, have dietary restrictions, but this place is allergy friendly and accommodates special diets as well, so there ended up being something for everyone, and everyone in my group liked the food.
One of my friends who’d been here before ordered the poached chicken porridge/congee. Out of everything on the menu, it sounded the best and seemed reasonably healthy, so I got that as well. It was delicious and reminded me of the congee I was served on a Singapore Airlines flight a couple years ago. While a bit pricey, the portion was large, so it was a decent value.
So far, this has been one of my better brunch experiences in SF and probably one of the only places I would return to.“

“no frills takeout filipino restaurant serving a variety of silogs for less than $10. you can’t beat the value per price point at superstar. overall, top tier restaurant!
hong kong style pork: must try. perfectly fried and flavorful. garlic rice was a hit.“
“I had 2 separate deep cleaning by two different dentist and they both were wonderful in their own right, yet they both had the precision touch known by this dentist team. It is the reason why I come here. I also had a follow-up as well. Great attention to detail. Thank you!“

“Food was great, tasty and nice as usual.
I ordered a combo plate of Chicken Sisig and Pares.
In these instances, I'd recommend to order an extra order of Garlic Rice, or if too garlic-y, normal steamed rice.“

“Amazing flavors and presentation, efficient service. But letting entitled, shameless patrons bring dogs in the restaurant to whine and yap and disturb diners?? Management needs to train staff to stand up to the Karens, bounce dogs, and avoid heath code violations.“

“Avenida was an elusive restaurant for us to visit since the wait times are so long ! We got lucky and got seated with no reservations within 5 minutes on a saturday evening. Truly lucky.
It was with much anticipation that we got to finally taste the food here. The food didn’t quite meet expectations but it was still very good. My favorite dish was the Shrimp Gambas. There was happy hour on the weeknd’s, so we got the dish for a great price !
Overall, the staff was great. I had a fun time here. The inside was very beautiful, and the underrated it for the holidays.“

“Very tasty Filipino food, only one small table outside…. But there is a park just a block or two away to enjoy these delicious creations“
“Incredibly authentic Filipino hole-in-the-wall doling out a wide variety of ready-to-go stews and crispy fried specialties (e.g whole fish)Very reasonably priced, generously portioned lunch platters with choice of carbohydrate and two entrees. Highlights include:(i) chicken or pork adobo,(ii) ginataang kalabasa (pumpkin coconut milk curry with fresh veg and seafood), and(iii) lumpia rolled fresh by the house matriarch on-site.Glass-noodle pancit, while tasty, is more of a personal preference choice. An excellent option for Filipino in the Outer Mission/Excelsior — with a very strong, no-frills, friendly vibe from the islands.“

“It reminded me of when I was a young girl and would go to visit my mama and papa. Papa always threw down in the kitchen, from adobo to caldareta! This place is one to go to for authenticity. But they are CASH ONLY. So be sure to hit an ATM beforehand. Enjoy! Highly recommend.“

“Took my wife to lunch at Via Mare in Daly City. We wanted to try their Bangus Sisig and XL Crispy Pata. The dishes were delicious and the service were great. Bangus and sisig, what a great combination. Crispy pata was tender inside and crunchy skin outside. Served on white rice. It was a perfect lunch combo.“

“Good food combination of good service, reasonable price. Please use more better quality of pork meat for your lechon kawali, other than that everything else is okay.
Parking: Parking is always available for free, not on the street.“

“A hole in the wall take out resturant. They only accept cash for payment. Friendly and fast service. Waited barely 5 minutes or so for my order. Parking nearby as with most places in SF are limited. Food portions are massive and the prices are low. Tocino and longanisa are decent. Food quality is okay for considering what you pay for. Definitely for those on a budget since the silogs are currently $6.00 to $6.25 + tax, so don't expect anything fancy or out of this world. Fast, generous, unassuming, and cheapest filippino food around can be found here.“
“Unadulterated Filipino recipes. Very reasonable pricing. Wide variety of choices. Great people behind the counter. Operated & managed according to the values & demeanor of the original founder & owner. And if you were lucky enough to know the lady that's all the recommendation you would ever need.
Dietary restrictions: If you have dietary restrictions don't go to a Filipino restaurant. You'll have a difficult time enjoying the food as it should be eaten. If you're willing suspend the rules, for one meal... by all means- go.“

“Though I don't gamble and live like 40-45mins away from this place, we tend to drive up to lucky chances from time to time to get tapsilog, they do have a variety of tapsilog combinations and not to mention large portions too. I love how they serve you the whole fried bangus with the head and tail still attached ??, The bangus sisig is also good. We usually try and take it to go since this place gets packed at times, but end up eating it there and somehow finding a table for our group. The servers are not the best at times. They could come out rude at times when it's busy and tend to forget about your table after the food is served you often have to flag them for water refills or for napkins and when one or two of your orders are still missing. Other than that, it's always good food and a decent spot to get some good Filipino eats.“

“Food was so flavorful! We ordered fish, beef calderetta and the garlic rice with pickled veggies on the side, one of the best meals I’ve had in a while from a restaurant! Service was a little slow, it took about 20 minutes for us to get our drinks from when we sat down but the waitress was nice so we didn’t mind much. Atmosphere is a little loud, I think they rent out half of their restaurant for parties and events and there was one going on that night, but that’s also a good thing, I’ll keep them in mind next time I have an event lol.
All in all, I’d go there again because the food was top tier!“

“I absolutely Loved my Ube cocktail ? drink. Indeed a super unique and tasty drink. I found most of the menu to be quite delicious and satisfying. Great ambiance, especially on a cold day where you want to stay warm sitting next to the lamp lights.“

“Whenever I'm grocery shopping here, I make it a point to stop by here. The food is always fresh, and you get service right away. I typically get lechon kawali or the bagnet. My dad loves the crispy chicken skin, or depending on the mood, they get chicharon bulaklak. This time around, my dad tried the crispy bangus.
I'm not sure why the reviews are so bad. The food and service are good.“

“The hopia is to die for!!! Good luck trying to get a hold of them. I gave it a 4 because I can never get a hold of anyone and it's closed when I go to the actual store. Hours need to be updated on line or have some type of updated sign with actual store hours...Or you can always hire me to answer all calls and take orders and pay me in hopia.. Lol“
