“First time visit. We thought we'd give it a try after driving by a billion times. Your basic Chinese steam table with the added menu if you want to dine in, They have a whole bunch of dining tables for that purpose, although the food will be served to you as takeout on a tray. Not a problem. Staff is very courteous and friendly, I think they are the main asset.
The food. Lemon chicken was really lemon chicken. My God what a concept. Usually it's some horrible syrupy thing but very much lemony tasty and the chicken was tender. No chicken jerky.
Really good. Vegetable fried rice, fluffy and tasty with veggies.
String bean tofu isa little problematic. It did taste good but a third of the container was sauce. Other than that it was a nice experience. Plus a soda and a $3 tip, the whole thing came to about 42 bucks. They have four different combo plates ranging from the $9 range to $12 range, they also have two egg rolls for $1.99 If you're looking for a quick bite to grab, I would say do it.
Steam table also had some nice veggie dishes that I didn't get to, broccoli, beef and a veggie and shrimp. That'll be for next time. All in all pretty decent and we will probably return now and then. We don't usually eat much Chinese up in the San Leandro area, we're usually at Porky's or somewhere else. But this was good. Nice surprise“

“If you are ever feeling under the weather and want to get something soupy/noodly- this is the spot to be. Ten Seconds will satisfy your soupy/noodly cravings. I love how their signature and simple R1: The Original Crossing Bridge Rice Noodles come in such a cute hot little pot along with little plates of side dishes that you can either opt in or out (also they have corn which is amazing). The pot is very hot so please proceed with caution* The pricing here is very affordable to their portion size and they have variety of choices for you to choose from. I have always enjoy the authentic chicken broth soup because it is very comforting and makes me feel like home. I recommend coming here if you are tired of eating pho because this place have good hot noods“

“My personal favorite dish is their House special pan fried noodles. The portion of this was insane, this itself can feed 4 people. Love the vegetables, squid, shrimp,…. on top of the noodles. The toppings are cooked with this slightly thick sauce which drenches the fried noodle making it some parts of it crunchy and some of it soft/soggy. I grew up eating this dish and so I’m almost always ordering this dish.
My second favorite dish is their honey walnut shrimp. This is always a hit at every family dinner I have and so I just had to order it. Their shrimp had a bite to it and a bouncy texture. It was cooked perfectly.
Everything we ordered:
- $20.95 Honey Walnut Shrimps
- $25.95 Beef cubes and scallop with teriyaki sauce
- $24.95 Pickled dried vegetables/Braised pork belly with sweet potato leaves
- $20.95 House special pan fried noodles
- $19.95 Salt and pepper pork chops
- $9.95 Marinated tofu“

“I have been coming here for years and have always had great service. When I call in my order the lady knows my voice and always asks if I want the mushroom chicken (my usual) or something different. Went today and hadn't been here for months, and she still recognized my voice“

“This place has seriously blown up lately. The fish and chicken sandwich are both really good, but personally I don’t think they’re worth waiting more than 15 minutes for. Your best bet is going early in the morning or closer to closing, and I’d definitely try to avoid weekends if possible because the lines can get wild.
A good rule of thumb: if the line starts around the door, you’re probably looking at about a 15-minute wait. If the line starts stretching toward the other stores nearby, you’re looking closer to a 45-minute to 1-hour wait. At the peak of the hype, I know some people were waiting over 1–2 hours, which is honestly wild. Thankfully, it does seem a little better now that the hype has died down a bit.
What I really love here though is the pineapple bun with butter. Honestly, I think it’s the best one I’ve had in the Bay Area. Unfortunately, because the lines have been ridiculously long the last couple of months, I haven’t been able to grab one lately. By the time I go closer to closing, they’re usually sold out.“

“I've been going here for a number of years. Even before the pandemic. The food has been consistently good, with the exception of the height of the pandemic.
On other platforms, this place isn't rated high however this place for dim sum is always packed. This says wonders about the other sites.
Today's visit for dim sum was just like the other times. Place was packed and there was a wait of 20 mins. The service was okay and the food was good. Parking wasn't an issue as there were plenty.
This is a go-to spot for dim sum for sure.“

“Been going to this restaurant for years! Our favorite by the way. Friendly owners, service and home delivery.🥡🥢“
“Very authentic cantonese and other chinese food. There is only one woman working at the counter doing table service and making drinks, which was very impressive and she did excellent service. The yogurt drinks with purple rice were my favorite. We got the crispy noodle with chicken, which was great and not too oily. Everyone seemed to be getting the clay pot and the hand shredded chicken so we have to go back to try that. They also do a fun nine dessert sampler that let us try a lot of things. Great experience, will be back again!“

“The food is quite authentic. I've went there multiple times and the dishes are very consistent. Decent taste, not too much flavor. Just right. Price is relatively affordable too if you are eating with multiple people. I would recommend this place to others.“

“Let’s be honest about JL Kitchen: you’re not coming here for gourmet food. You’re coming for some serious Chinese comfort food, at good value. What you get are amazing portion sizes of very tasty and basic American Chinese fares. Sometimes that’s exactly what the doc… I mean chef, ordered!“

Because she laughs so beautifully that she spreads a great positive energy around. I definitely want you to meet her, her food is delicious, bon appetit. Don't forget to say bye bye to her, you may have a laughing fit while she says this.????“

“Today, I discovered a Taishan-style restaurant. I haven’t seen it for a long time. It’s the taste of my childhood. You can add your favorite salty soup balls and ingredients according to your own taste. Their steamed rice is also pretty good, nutritious and delicious. Nothing I ordered was too bad, the dishes were rich and colorful, and the service was very good. I will try their rice bowls and skewers next time. The ones ordered by the next table looked very good, and they also have several nourishing soups. I recommend everyone to try it!“

“We had dim sum here. We ordered the regular items, har gau, siu mai, black bean ribs, beef rice roll, beef tripe, snow baked taro buns and a dish of beef chow fun. All the dim sum were very good and tasty. Har gau (shrimp dumpling) skin could be better as it broke apart as I picked it up. The tripe was crispy. The rice roll was steamy hot and soft and whole (not falling apart). Chow fun was seasoned just right, lots of wok chi, and not greasy.
Service is inattentive. You really need to wave people down to get chili oil, extra chopsticks, extra hot water. Waitress serving rice roll walks away without pouring on soy sauce. We were 4 people and staff tried to seat us at a 8 person table even though there were lots of 4 person tables around. I said we cannot converse that easily on such a big table but she still insisted on the big table. She only relented after we were adamantly against it.
Restaurant was thundering with conversation. We got in about 11 AM on Monday. By 12, the restaurant was 2/3 filled and I had problem hearing what my friend (across from me) was saying.“

“FYI: Not a Malatang spot anymore. Google gotta fix that.
Really really good food.
Orange chicken was nice and crispy, good cuts and well trimmed.
Cumin beef was tasty, well spiced, and had a good amount of fresh ingredients.
Chow Mein was really nice as well. I think it was chicken and minced pork belly. Pork belly was well spiced and the noodles werent too oily. Cabbage had some nice browning on it.
Steamed dumplings were good. I cant think of anything specific to say but definitely tasty and fresh.
Cute place. Definitely a family run place, nice and cozy. Will be my go to when I want Chinese. Highly recommend you give it a try.“
