“This is an amazing find in Castro Valley! We went there because we needed a place to have lunch. We were surprised with not only an amazing selection, but extremely welcoming, owner and servers, and the food! The food was incredible. They do not cater to American taste. This is the real thing. The vegetables with tofu sauce were incredible as was the pork and everything else we had the dessert of tofu with mantis or ginger is a must. Highly recommend!!“

“We ordered the mapo tofu, bbq beef, and typhoon shelter chicken wings. You can hear the crunch in the chicken wings from a mile away. They wait to fry the wings to guarantee freshness. The ma po tofu was silky, spicy and savory. Everything had the perfect amount of seasoning and saltiness.

“I dont like to give small businesses a hard time, the food was amazing the only issue i have is the consistency of their hot and hour soup, ITS EXTREMELY THICK, I've been to house of dumplings and hong Kong city restaurant in the area, this is thr first time encountering soup being served like this. I hope I can either get a refund on the item or an exchange. None the less everything else was great, just wish I didn't pay 11 bucks for this item“

“As a family we’ve ordered superior Chinese food from Nanking even before it was NanKing when it was Uncle Wu’s. Never disappointed until tonight. All food we received was cold even the rice. Little flavor as well. Very cold making the special evening not enjoyable and we live one mile from them.“

The only negative is that the ribs in the pot we ordered were very chewy and the sliced meats in the porridge were also chewy. “My personal favorite dish is their House special pan fried noodles. The portion of this was insane, this itself can feed 4 people. Love the vegetables, squid, shrimp,…. on top of the noodles. The toppings are cooked with this slightly thick sauce which drenches the fried noodle making it some parts of it crunchy and some of it soft/soggy. I grew up eating this dish and so I’m almost always ordering this dish.

My second favorite dish is their honey walnut shrimp. This is always a hit at every family dinner I have and so I just had to order it. Their shrimp had a bite to it and a bouncy texture. It was cooked perfectly.

The order was delivered in a timely manner and the food was fresh and impressively packaged for delivery. Harry took my order and was extremely pleasant over the phone, he was patient with me and offered good recommendations. The delivery guy was friendly and courteous. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner and look forward to dining in the next time I’m in the area.“
