“wild ginger just is a solid spot to eat at. the length and texture of the hand pulled noodles are so satisfying to eat, and the place is pretty small so you can hear the loud smacking sounds of the chef making the noodles in the kitchen! so cool!!!my friends and I actually got a cold noodle dish on the house when we visited for dinner :) they are just so kind like that!the spicy dishes are actually not really that spicy which doesn't hit the spot for me exactly but still super enjoyable. i remember when they first opened like 6+ years ago, it was pretty spicy for me so either my spice tolerance has really gone up (it definitely has over the years), they toned down the spice for the customers, or both. either way, each time I come I leave full and satisfied!“
“Best Chinese food this side of the island! Daniel has wonderful hospitality & excellent customer service. Now as far as the food? You pick, it's all amazing. My favorites: Hot & sour soup, black pepper spicy beef and the special seafood chow mein! Now there's lots more to try... I'm just starting with the great stuff. If you go on Sunday, be prepared to wait a bit but the service is awesome!GET IT TO GO! Call, order, pickup or have it delivered...It's always been hot and fresh!“
“I was invited for a family private party at this restaurant and I was shocked at the affordable prices for all the delicious entrées. From the beginning with the egg drop soup, the spare ribs, fried rice, til the end with the almond cookies. The service, the quality and the price were all excellent. If you're in the area see for yourself. You won't be disappointed.“
“Went here to celebrate my mom’s birthday and they were very accommodating. They let me bring a cake for a cake fee and let us stay a little over closing. It goes without saying that the food was delicious but going above and beyond by bringing us dessert plates and a candle is what will keep me coming as a customer.“
“Delicious noodles; I think this is the tastiest chow mein I have ever had with perfect texture noodles, yummy sauce, and fresh veggies. Other dishes we tried and really liked include Mongolian beef and string bean chicken. The Shezjuan tofu had so many rave reviews we decided to try it too; amazing sauce but the tofu itself is thickly breaded then deep fried...too heavy/greasy for us.“
“Great spot on Park Street. The hand pulled noodles are fantastic as well as the sweet and spicy chicken wings. Other highlights include the beef noodle soup which is great on a cold night and the xiao long bao. There are so many Chinese restaurants in Alameda but, the noodles and wings make Ark standout amongst the rest.“
“Watching the sad decline or disappearance of many other local chinese-american restaurants i was pleasantly surprised to find China Villa is still holding down the fort. I've ordered take out twice recently and was very satisfied with the quality, quantity and speed at which the food was prepared for pickup. I've always been a fan of their crab rangoon, but definitely check out the items on the menu labeled "chef's specialties." Love that the decor inside is old school, rosewood and satin cushions, just like my Poh Poh's (grandma's) house. Can't beat the waterfront view too! Looking forward to dining in next time with my family!“
“I've ordered from here 2 times and had a different experience both times. The first time everything was oowee delicious! I got shrimp egg foo young, some kinda Hawaiian chicken dish I think, fried wings and something else. It was all very good. The second time I got shrimp egg foo young again, honey walnut shrimp and chowmein and it was all pretty average. The egg foo young the first time was very flavorful but the second time it was pretty bland. The same with the honey walnut shrimp dish; it was very plain lacking flavor; the same with chowmein. Tbh the second time it tasted like there was no MSG on my food; I don't have any problem with cooking with MSG and I think it's a wonderful flavor enhancer for dishes; my dishes the second time all seemed to be lacking umami. Maybe they left off the MSG the second time? I'll still go back again though. The people who work there are also very friendly.“
“This is my favorite and best go to spot for authentic CHINESE rice plates in the east bay. Definitely a hidden gem.-CLEAN restaurant and friendly staff-fast service and generous portions-The food is fresh tasting, fresh ingredients, and good rice. (I mentioned the rice because not all places make it the right way!!)-Flavors and seasonings are always consistently good.“
“Went on a Tuesday at 1:30p and was greeted and sat immediately. The staff were welcoming, and service was very good. Lots of elderlies celebrating Lunar New Year and laughing up a good time. Ordered 6 dim sum items, and although it took some time to arrive, every dish arrived piping hot. The bean curd rolls were delicious, sesame balls were crunchy, and the dumplings were juicy, flavorable and sizable. Unfortunately, the pan fried turnip cake was a little soggy and the steamed dumplings (har gow and shrimp & spinach) stuck to the paper liner, causing the wrapper to tear and ingredients to fall out...not sure if they steamed them too long. They use thick style wrappers on their steamed dumplings should you have a preference; I prefer the thin style. Anyways, it's clear Chef Wok has a loyal following, and the prices are decent. As with most dim sum places, they do get busy on the weekends, so be prepared to stand in line or order ahead and pick up. All in all, if you have the craving, they will help with the fix!“
“This place is amazing! My spouse and I picked up our toddler from school and decided we were all starving, so we headed in for an early lunch at this nearby dim sum spot on the corner of Buena Vista and Webster. The staff seated us immediately, and brought us a menu, tea, and cold drinks. We had duck, with chow mein, bok choi, pot stickers, salt and pepper chicken, chicken feet, shrimp and pork, Chinese donuts. Huge portions, so much food! When the bill came I could not believe the entire meal was only $70. Energy in the restaurant was very relaxed and happy. Staff are super friendly and kind. 100 percent will be back soon. Very much enjoyed our meal.“
“It's the Freezing COLD and rainy weather time of season to get your body warmed up with the BEST Wor Wonton soup in the Bay Area in Alameda. There are always other tasty dishes that are popular as well. Call first to order is highly recommended. Open “
“Without a doubt my new favorite Chinese restaurant in the Bay, and I’ve thoroughly explored Oakland & SF Chinatown! We got the #8 (Taiwan beef brisket noodles) at the highest spice level (it’s really not spicy at all) with their hand pulled noodles and oh. My. Goodness. AMAZING!!! The vinegar in the broth was PERFECT, I didn’t need to add my own seasonings whatsoever. We also got the fried pork and chili won tons which were also delicious! I’ll definitely make the drive down here as often as possible!! Super happy to support this new small, local business. Also shout out to the service, because it was some of the best I’ve gotten in a long time. So kind!“
