Hao Kee Kitchen 好記 in Castro Valley offers authentic, flavorful, and reasonably priced Chinese comfort food. The BBQ meats, crispy fried chicken, and Hainan chicken were fresh and cooked perfectly, with generous portions and a wide variety of traditional Cantonese dishes. The staff is friendly and attentive, and service is quick even during busy hours. The roasted pork and rice dish was absolutely blown away, and the dumplings were plump and full of perfectly seasoned tender pork. The Macau style roast pork was delicious, and the homemade hot sauce is pretty good with a kick. The lemon tea was great, and the wonton noodle soup had good soup and noodles. The whole roast piglet was so good, with crispy skin and juicy, tender meat. The Hainanese chicken and tofu were very delicious, and the environment is comfortable with many dishes on the menu. The price is just right, and the restaurant is highly recommended for delicious Chinese food and excellent BBQ specialties.
