“Had lunch with 2 of my girlfriends on a weekday and we were seated immediately. It was all of our first time there, and we loved it. We will be back to try more! Let's get into it:Menu: We came during lunch so we had the lunch menu as well as the Restaurant Week fixed menu. We didn't opt for it because we wanted to try some other items but we heavily considered it. The regular lunch menu was great - 1 page and yet had many options for us. The back listed several great looking drink options.Appetizers: Everything we ordered was extremely flavorful. We ordered the Salmon Salpicon and Bruselas El Prado to share. The salmon dish was so good and rich. We wish it came with just a few more more plantain crisps but that's our preference. We said we'd come back for that and drinks alone...unless we got the rest of our dishes. The Brussel sprouts were so well flavored and perfectly charred and crispy. I would eat that on it's own.Main Dishes: We order 3 dishes including: Arepa con Queso, Colombian Chorizo Hotdog, and Posta Negra Sando. I had the Arepa and it was a wonderful vegetarian arepa dish filled with a mix of root veggies, cauliflower and broccoli all topped with an egg. So filling. Highly recommend. I don't eat meat so I didn't eat the other dishes but my friends were not disappointed.Service: The servers were great. Very genuine interactions. They checked in on us periodically and were never far if we needed something.Ambiance: The place itself was beautifully decorated. I wish I took pictures of the inside of the restaurant.Overall, a wonderful treat to experience with friends. Treat yourself to this place! We'll be back to try more food and check out their dinner menu.Dietary restrictions: Menu states this is a gluten free kitchen. Dishes also marked as DF (dairy free), VG (vegan), VEG (vegetarian) where applicable.“
“We kind of ended up here on a fluke and with empty stomachs. We weren't into the experience just wanted the food. Our server, Toni, was accommodating about all of our reasonable ( and less reasonable) requests. We sat in a corner quite close to our neighbors but it wasn't too bad. The sound quality in their space makes it so you don't get bombarded but a lot of loud clanging. It's pretty upscale and the food is Michelin level amazing but also has a chill vibe.Goes without saying, we will certainly be back.Vegetarian options: The veggie options are just as amazing as the non. They are also good about accommodating veggie diets in any part of the menu.We got the peshe- Chilean Sea Bass which was so on point. As we are pescaterian“
“The food was 10/10, everything we ordered was excellent, and was brought to us by the chef himself, who was gregarious and kind. Service was impeccable, our waiter was available but in no way intrusive. Ambience was on point and unique. Will definitely be returning to Bardo!“
“I've only been there hella early in the a.m.; it's been tight every time. I bought some of their grounds, hella good. Their donuts smack. There's a skeleton that waves at you above the entrance, he's my homie. Ha.Parking: Street parking and residential parking near. Again, I've only been at the top of the morn so there's parking when I've visited.Kid-friendliness: He?? yeah.Wheelchair accessibility: Ngl I'll update this portion but if I remember correctly there's a ramp to the left of the building that can be used.“
“We got the cheeseburger, cheese steak, fries, and corn fritters. I really didn't expect everything to taste THIS good but I was so pleasantly surprised!! Everything was so tasty and the drinks were even better!!! I LOVED the house made ranch and put that on everything. The owner and staff were also super kind - will def be coming back. They have odd hours so it's hard to catch when they're open but definitely worth it.“
“Fun bar with great food. Cocktails are unique and full of flavor. The staff are quick. Parking available in a parking garage near by or street parking. Good place to come with groups 4 or less. I went by myself and loved the experience. This is a place I would return to for a good drink and food. Be aware the food menu is limited but all of the options sound delicious.“
“A must visit every time I’m in Oakland.Stopped by before a concert at the Fox on a Monday night. There were lots of open seats, love their back patio. They have heaters but it was warm enough without them. We ordered at the bar and our drinks and food were brought to our table. The happy hour (5-7 pm) cocktail was a mezcal spritz ($7), it was the perfect refreshing yet smoky cocktail for a warm night in the bay.I love the menu here, we shared the radishes w/ aioli and added sardines. Love the way the radishes were served with the stems on, we felt like bunnies ?. We also shared the melon and prosciutto which is a MUST have. The chili oil on it was perfect. They were out of the carrot cake ?, but settled for some popcorn and the beer + mezcal coffee shot happy hour drink ($7) for dessert. This space also has books, cards, and crayons to draw on the table cloth. A great spot to check out in Oakland, worth making a trip from the city!“
“Fave bar in Oakland. Adventurous, ever-evolving cocktail menu. Food is affordable and delicious (didn’t know tater tots could be deep fried with such precision, lol).NO tv screens! Ambiance is “cool, cozy, librarian” and vinyl selection is deeeep.“
“I had to turn "the page" to 3411. The cooks outside are good with the amazing fish tacos ? on Tuesdays along with other great appetizers that go excellent with cocktails or cold beer. Lil smooth the dj has just about every song you can sing. Family, food, fun and entertainment.“
“Third year in a row for Miracle on Telegraph. It's always a blast! The bartenders get into character and pours lots of delicious holidays drinks. This year my favorite was Rudolph's Replacement (it was like a coffee cocktail) hope they keep this tradition going for years to“
“Best wings in the East Bay! Stopped in to visit my friend in Oakland and was pleasantly surprised. The Korean fried wings are hand breaded, tender, and nothing short of amazing. Looking for some heat though Catfish bites were absolutely perfect The cocktail list rivals any fancy rooftop in San Francisco Plenty of room to accommodate large groups. Conveniently located close to the convention center. Stop in to see Mikey or Paul during happy hour“
“What an awesome bar! Where else downtown can you stroll across a floor covered in soft sand, be greeted by friendly staff, and enjoy a refreshing cocktail that refreshes you like a tropical beach? Definitely check this place out, and be sure to try the Yay Breeze!“
“It's a full bar and restaurant with serving brunch too. Has indoor and limited outdoor seatings. Inside is well decorated and clean. Tables are large and overall roomy place.Waiters are responsive and polite.Great for group, events, meetup, kids and accessible. Prices are reasonable wrt food quality. Will come back again.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to enter and room to easily maneuver“
“Found this place on Yelp and decide to try it out on a Friday night with my girls. The inside is very cute and has a good time. Their drink menu is small which I think is good as too many drink options can be overwhelming. The place was pretty full, but we were able to find a seat at the bar. The bartender was very attentive and made our drinks really quickly which was great. I had the Taloma and ale Grand Fizz and I definitely loved the Taloma a lot more. The place did have a $10 cover charge later on in the night which I believe included access to a social club next door as well and extended the hours till 1:30am/2am. The place did get a bit loud towards the end of the night so I might be returning a bit earlier on a weekend or stop by during the week next time. All in all I did like the bar and will be returning.“
“We ordered the spicy chicken wings, the fried fish and a noodle dish. All were very good. My only complaint was that the fish didn't have more meat on it, since we were sharing. But for one person it would be fine. Very friendly service and a nice atmosphere as wellParking: We went during the super bowl so it was relatively easy to find street parking, but it would be difficult on a normal night“
“$5 parking in guarded lot a half block away due to street bipping. So sad we have come to this. Ordered vegan burrito and it was a ten. Covered outdoor tables. My friend had a different Mexican dish that they made a vegan version. All delicious and service was attentive.“
“I can't say enough good things about Low Bar! I hosted a holiday party here last night for a local professional organization, and Low Bar was the perfect venue. The staff are so thoughtful, organized, and attentive, and the food is fantastic. Low Bar is really the place to be if you want fun, casual vibes but high quality food. Their private room was perfect for a 30-person event. The price was reasonable for the high quality of food, cocktails, and service. Our guests ranged from graduate students to retirees, and folks from all walks of life remarked on how much they loved the location.Justin was our server, and he was the dream to work with. Friendly, professional, attentive-- he really made the party a success. I felt like I could just show up and Justin and the Low Bar would make everything run well.Their event manager Sam was also a joy to work with and made everything so easy. The location is perfect for public transit accessibility, and there is a parking lot across the street.Don't sleep on the churrros! The food here is amazing.“
“Offering a slight update on Ethiopian classics, Mela Bistro is an excellent option for healthy and flavor-forward meat and vegetable based stews. The housemade fermented injera unique in its fluffy airiness, leaving one still feeling light by the end of a meal.A tasteful interior and very friendly service make for a great date spot.“
“Went for a cute little Tuesday evening dinner with my wife. First impressions: WOW ? We already felt so welcome after seeing the pride flag in the door but all the plants inside really made it feel like home.We ordered some cocktails (the Golden State of Mind was delightful!) the pork adobo and the lechon kawali -- it was my first time trying Filipino food and i. Am. Hooked!!Ended the meal with some halo halo, which we highly recommend“
“I am an out of towner and was looking for a place to catch the Eagles game. Some friends told me about this bar so I gave it a shot. George & Walt's is in a great are and the place was very diverse. There were plenty of TVs airing all sorts of games and pool tables. The bar is cash only (set to change soon) with tons of drinks specials. The bartenders were friendly and quick to check in. I was happy to have so many food options at this dive like bar. Everything came out delicious and the service was incredible!“
“Wow, this bar felt quite hidden away from the world behind gray doors despite being on a busy commercial stretch of Lakeshore. There was a cat sign, but Jamie W. and I kept missing it as we strolled back and forth just before it opened at 4PM. When we finally entered, it was a stylish space but overly so with vintage accents producing the requisite chill atmosphere. Let me be honest though. We came for the craft cocktails we saw on their website, and Keenan was the cool bartender who was there to make them for us. I tried the $14 Dear Irene, a blended Pina Colada riff with gin, coconut, ginger, mint, cane, and lime. A lovely libation. Jamie had the $14 Blue Meanie which had a more tantalizing tropical taste. It had a nice kick consisting of eight-year-old Haitian & Banana Rum, Giffard Coconut, lime, and blue curaçao (photo: So satisfying that we had another round. I went with the $14 E&E, a vibrant mix of tequila, mezcal, lime, cilantro, pineapple, and jalapeño over rocks. It was like a short margarita. Jamie tried the $14 Mata Hari, which sounds more mysterious than it was. It left out tequila and mixed mezcal, amaro nardini, lime, and tamarind syrup into a saucy, south-of-the-border libation (photo: While Dear Irene was the definitive standout, all the cocktails provided a nice symphony of compatible flavors. Otherwise I was just drunk. Either way, it made for a satisfying visit at this hidden hideaway close to Lake Merritt. COCKTAILS - 4 stars..,well tested libations with the Dear Irene a standout AMBIANCE - 4 stars...stylish, vintage space with a large enough bar at an inconspicuous address SERVICE - 4 stars...Keenan is a very helpful bartender TOTAL - 4 stars...a chill hangout on Lakeshore RELATED - Exploring Oakland? “My partner and I are in town for a funeral and we had to kill a little time between our vrbo check out time and our flight home, so my partner found a place for us to get some food and a drink or six. ?Luckily for us, they found The Fat Lady and it was SUCH a wonderful experience! Our server, Elizabeth, was so incredibly delightful and helpful. She made great recommendations and didn’t hesitate to tell us that she wouldn’t mind if we had to camp out for a couple hours, or more, despite our profuse apologies. And that’s not to mention that she was incredibly fun/funny, and dare I say she was a bit cheeky (?) but in a safe and super respectful way. Not only that, she made our dining experience even better than it otherwise would have been - coming and going with the flow you just instantly know is a true mark of high intelligence and skill in the profession. Now, the food. Gawd. The food was so tasty.I very much enjoyed the oysters, that came with lemons, real horseradish, and garlic butter. And I had the Atlantic salmon fillet as my main. My partner had the French onion soup and a baked potato that they found to be delicious on a cloudy/drizzly Bay Area day. As for the drinks… We very much enjoyed the Bees Knees and Cupid’s Arrow cocktail, as we did a spicy mezcal cocktail that Elizabeth suggested for us.By the way, the ambience and atmosphere is absolutely fantastic. It’s almost like being in your kooky rich aunt’s mansion, it’s incredibly ornate and beautiful inside, with art and curtains and lamps. I was in a seat where I could see a stained glass window featuring a rose pattern, making it that much more special.Needless to say, after our time at The Fat Lady, we’re both adequately prepared and smiling before our flight home after a handful of difficult days. Thanks for your hospitality and patience with us, Elizabeth & Staff. Hope to see you again, someday soon. “
“I love this little bar, it's hidden on the side of some corporate building but has such cozy vibes. I wish I knew of it sooner. I got 2 cocktails although not gonna lie I can't remember the names but they were both super tasty. Everyone in my group loved their drinks. The bartender was so friendly too. We also got their empanadas and honestly kind of fire. It was the perfect after work drink type of bar.“
“This was my first time there and I absolutely loved the food. We sat at the bar on a Friday night for dinner and there was a happy hour until 8:00. We ordered two appetizers and two entrees and put them between the two of us. There was so much food we had to take the leftovers home. I can't wait to go back and try more things on the menu! I give it ?????“
“I came here to grab some drinks before a show at the Fox Theater and I definitely recommend! Drinks are around $10-$15 but they are strong and delicious. Danny was such a helpful mixologist and took the time to provide recommendations. The ambiance was very relaxed with a comic boom theme. Thank you!“
“5 Spiced Kitchen is conveniently located in Montclair and the food is delicious! Our party of six enjoyed our shared entrees which included seafood, beef, potstickers and veggie spring rolls. 5SK has a full bar as well. Prices were a bit high- I'd say $$$ on a scale of 1-4. However, we will go back and enjoy again!“
“The Elbo Room has been great to us! We as a band have played a few shows so far and it's always a fun turnout! Jimmy and Dean have created a vibrant space with amazing music and tasty cocktails! Most of all, the staff is extremely friendly! Thank You for having us and for sharing your space with us!! We can't wait to be back!“
“Definitely has a low key, cousin's house type of vibe. All the staff were cool and friendly but running around. I was just out by myself and luckily got seated at the bar within about 10 minutes. It's restaurant week, so it could've gone either way and they were definitely busy!I got the $45 pre-fixed menu. Forgive the absence of pics, I forgot ?- Dominican Curry Rice Salad: idk what I was expecting, but this was essentially a cold rice dish with a lot of ingredients and a lot of flavor! 9/10- Gallina Guisada: Chef's Kiss ?!! The plantain, the beans, the curried chicken. 10/10- Tres Leches Cake: the cake was very thick, almost like a pudding. It was super tasty but not like the light and fluffy tres leches cake I'm used to 7/10I will be coming back with friends!“
“I'm sure Roy, the owner, could give two hoots about yelp, but man! Thank you for your hospitality on Turkey day. I hope you and the gents had a great afternoon and we'll see you soon! I'm glad that you were open and cheers to your friend and World Series champion, Dusty Baker!“
“This restaurant is incredible. Everyone walks in like it's just a normal Thai restaurant... The food is superb and out of this world. The flavors in each of the dishes we tried were unique, layered and sophisticated.A true delight just like the staff and servers.Delicious cocktails and good wine as well.“
“Lakeside Lounge is a great little bar that has been in Oakland for decades! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming! The people are friendly and bartenders are fantastic! I am Piedpiperkj, and I perform at the Lakeside every third Wednesday of the month! The musicians with whom I work, ar Lorenzo Hawkins and Ranzel Merritt. There is also Live blues band every Sunday night, and it is always LIT! There are activities happening Wednesday thru Sunday, something for everyone!“
“This is a place of culture.. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure was playing as we walked in. Everything was good from noodle texture to individual ingredients. Also dig the layout and interior design of the restaurant. Their exterior design is pretty unassuming, which makes the interior design that much better.Side note: The website hasn't been updated so the prices were a bit higher than expected. Still reasonable considering how bad prices are in Bay Area.“
“EVERYONE was so kind & welcoming. We bought some art. Yes!! You can buy art displayed on the walls. It was an absolutely magic night!!! Big shout out to Cherry, Peter & Smitty for allowing us to buy some of his art rather late which is now safely home in Brisbane Australia. This is a great place for a beverage or 2. It's well worth a visit!!!“
“The daytime bartender with the sweet singing voice and yummy drinks, she's always friendly and interesting. The food is also amazing!! The $4 beer choices leads me to believe the manager/owner "gets it." Thank you for making it reasonable to drink at your bar.“
“I must say, from the service to everything I tried today. It was all amazing! Quick and friendly service, flavorful dishes and awesome drinks. Nothing short of 5 star service. To know there’s a Anime themed ramen shop in the neighborhood brings me joy! I grew up watching pokemon and this place definitely brings back childhood memories and puts me in my element. Thank you all for such amazing service and food!“
“I take it that Noir Alley’s Eddie Muller owns a piece of the place since he keeps broadcasting from here. I mean, there’s plenty more noir bars he could yak from. A tad sneaky, Eddie, but I’ll try it next time I’m in town. Ciao, babes.“
“I come up from San Jose to this place all the time. Definitely a spot worth visiting when in the area. The ambiance is chill, everyone is friendly. The drinks are constantly rotating and are top notch. Above all there's the awesome and amazing Bob: super friendly, really knows his stuff and makes the best drinks known to man. Highly recommended“
“Went for lunch and was not disappointed! The food and the drinks were very good, although there is a certain over-the-top quality to everything as well. It almost hints at being a bit touristy without explicitly giving that vibe. But don’t take that as a negative!I would note that the beverage and food prices are quite high, so do not come here expecting a bargain. This is where you go when you want an Experience!“
“Friday night was busy. We had a reservation for 8:30 however it took a while for the previous party to leave. The food was amazing. Loved the Brussels sprouts and the fennel salad. The pizzas were perfect - even though we were thinking broccoli pizza may not be to everyone's liking, we all enjoyed it. The pear bourbon and pecan dessert also hit its mark.“
“Very nice upscale place with a casual feel. The food was incredible and the service was nothing short of amazing. They have food and drinks for a range of taste pallets, so should be able to please everyone in the group. If I'm ever in town again I will definitely be returning.“
“This is the first bar I've ever been a regular at. Less than 10 min from my place, right next to Bart, across the street from some great Mexican, with an even better taco truck right in its backyard. Very friendly staff, Oh and most importantly, cheap and delicious drinks!“
“Absolutely loved Torch the Venue! The rooftop is fantastic, providing a great atmosphere. The staff is incredibly nice and attentive. The venue itself is spotless, adding to the overall positive experience. Attended a holiday party, and the Glam Photo Booth was a delightful touch that truly elevated the festivities. Definitely a 5-star experience!“
“Ayo! This spot is litt! The vibes was great. The patrons was cool. And the bartender was all around great! The atmosphere was good energy. Not a place for BS. The drinks was on point. Would definitely return. And trying to return regularly. It's like a Time Machine....like Cheers, I want to go where they know me name! Older and more respectable crowd. The DJ spins music I can jam and vibe out to. Two thumbs up! The food served was unconventional. That's all I'm gonna say.“
“Delicious craft cocktails in a chill lounge environment. A great spot for an after-work drink! Lovely staff that's committed to quality, too--we watched them toss a cocktail after tasting it and finding it not meeting their satisfaction. Great to see!“
“I never did make it to Tamarack, but there's a wonderful new pop up in the same space now. I just got the quiche with collards and kale. So delicious! The greens have a really nice oil-n-vinegar dressing, and the quiche is hearty without being heavy. And the portions are not stingy! Zee's also sells bbq chicken, a dessert, and other items.“
“Did not try the food listed location because I was doordashing.. friendly people made me feel welcome and I get a quite few dashes here so I'm guessing the food is great.. a place. I would consider visiting after work for tequila shots..“
“Cafe Van Kleef knows what they do - greyhounds! - and they do it well. Very few options for beer/wine, but you're here for their famous greyhounds, and so is the rest of the crowd. Relaxed vibe inside, even when packed, and it's an eclectic collection on the walls that's fun to peruse.“
“they have so many vegan options! Spicy lemongrass with vegan beef and pork belly is my fave. But really, it's incredible to go to a pho place that has more than one vegan soup ?Also, the servers are always so kind and welcoming, every time I visit.Dietary restrictions: vegan options“
“THE Tiki spot in Oakland, solid tiki drinks with a dim, sexy vibe.Once you walk through their nondescript front doors, you're thrown into a candle-lit intimate tiki bar with plenty of spots--booths for groups, bar seating for the adventurous, and smaller cute tables for date night or girl talk. Seat yourself, make yourself welcome. There is only indoor seating, and they offer a full kitchen so NO BYO food. We didn't know, and were firmly reminded no outside food allowed oops!Their drinks menu is gorgeous. SO many options from rum-centered tiki dranks to mezcal and. We already got food, so we were solely looking to enjoy a drink or few. Their menu is great, tons of options depending on what you're looking for. I was between the lavender pisco Heyerdahl Maneuver vs the Japanese whiskey pineapple Cosmic Ship Yamato. Our server eager said the Cosmic Ship was her favorite, so I went with her rec. AND she was right! The Cosmic Ship is delicious, such a nice tropical blend of the whiskey, pineapple, plum wine, and citrus fruits...wasn't too bold with the whiskey, as I usually take mine as a sour. Drinks are high on the ABV, so you really get your drink and your money's worth. They're beautifully dressed up likely with a garnish and a fun time.Would def rec Kon-Tiki if you're on a bar crawl or are craving a nice tiki drink. My fave tiki spot is still in the City, Last Rites (go check it). Right now their drink theme is intergallactic and it's giving Beyonce in her Renaissance era.“
“Came here for drinks and appetizers. Amazing crispy catfish salad (so bright, balanced, savory, herbaceous) and the mak grut (keffir lime leaf) cocktail was one of the best cocktails I’ve ever tasted—complex, fragrant, refreshing and just delicious. As a person with Thai ancestry who is picky about his Thai food, I definitely recommend this place for a creative spin on Thai food that still respects the proper balance of flavor, at very least based on the two things I tasted!Great service and atmosphere as well. Can’t wait to come back and have a full meal.“
