“My first visit to Berkeley City Club for afternoon tea at Julia's and I am smitten! Gorgeous room in a gorgeous building designed by Julia Morgan. Easily accessible by a short walk from Downtown Berkeley BART. The tea sandwiches and sweets were filling and my Earl Grey tea was wonderfully robust. I would love to return to Julia's for another dining experience. I'll be doing my research to see if they do any holiday themed menus/events.“

“El Mono is absolutely fantastic. I took one bite and instantly fell in love with the dish I ordered (tallarin Saltado). Matt and the staff are absolutely wonderful and made it feel like a trully welcoming establishment. The truth is that I felt every bite warm my soul and made me feel more at ease. Being able to feel calm and enjoy such an amazing meal is something special, and El Mono is special!! something you have to experience.“

“My dinner partner and I both agree that the physical atmosphere, and food were excellent. The place was almost empty on a Sunday night yet the service was mediocre. We had to keep tracking down the waiter for our hot water for the tea, box for take away, etc. Inattentive. The staff also seemed unhappy or dissatisfied with their jobs. The prices have gone up so don’t feel we got value for our money“

“i’ come from marin to eat here with friends today i had 2 friends for lunch and we got 1buffet and 2 meals . i asked the young lady if i got a buffet could i take it out with my meal . i guess she misunderstood me and preferred to throw it away as to let me take it home i won’t return again. although food is good all the ethiopian restaurants nearby are good“

“This place is one of the best whisky bars I've ever been to. They have a phenomenal selection across styles and ages, including some rare releases from closed down distilleries, or some vintage bottles you can enjoy as cocktails. The staff are super welcoming. The bar is relaxed and if you didn't look at the drinks closely, you might think it's a dive bar (in the best possible way). Definite recommend for a chance to try some special drinks.“
“Delicious gluten free fried chicken. I have celiac and had a surprisingly hard time finding good gf places to eat in the Bay Area so this was a relief. Very reasonably priced for the area. I found the chicken at this location to be more tender than at their other location, but have only been to each once.“

“GREAT night with my 4 year old (some reviews mistakenly say 21+ but that’s NOT true). Food is delicious and pour your own pints (lol not for my kid) SO. CUTE. great service for a huge group of us post work on an early Sunday eve. Strong rec!“

“We stopped by East Bay Spices while we were at a concert at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, and we’re so glad we did. The cocktails were amazing, and the food was delicious. I tried the paneer tacos and my wife had the empanada — we both really enjoyed everything.
The staff was very friendly, and even though the food took a little longer than expected, the quality was absolutely worth it. Special thanks to the bartender and the whole team for the great experience. We’ll definitely be back!“

“We went in 7/11 to watch Norway and England game and it was very fun. The food was delicious. I got the brisket sandwich and mmm mmm mmm it was TENDER. The service was wonderful. I want to genuinely thank the waitress who literally walked me to the bathroom so I wouldn’t have to face the throng of passionate fans. That was above and beyond and just very kind. Thank you. Go, England!“
“Really nice friendly vibes. I like how the environment and music was while I played on one of their many pool tables. The bartender (Andre) was attentive and friendly. He is also engaging and has allot of knowledge about drinks. He helped guide my experience and we decided on a Manhattan (which was perfect). I will definitely return soon!!!“
