If you are a woman, it is not safe to come here. I was sitting at the table across from the bar with my back facing the walkway and a man kept coming up behind me and whispering or making general noises near my ear. I just ignored him but by the third time I had enough and told him to stop approaching me. He acted offended but stayed right behind me despite me pleading for him to leave me alone. East Bay Spice is a fantastic spot for anyone who loves bold, flavorful cuisine. Every dish is perfectly seasoned with authentic spices, and the menu offers a great variety, including a Tikka Masala dish and lamb Tikka Masala that is spicy but good with great portions. The food is fresh, delicious, and flavorful, and the drinks are well made. The cocktail bar has a nice gin collection and an amazing agave collection. The staff are welcoming, attentive, and friendly. The ambiance is cozy yet vibrant, with a great dim interior and an upstairs chillout seating area for bigger groups. It is a Berkeley treasure with stellar cocktails, delicious dishes, and awesome Dj appearances. Service is quick and friendly, and they serve food late. This place is perfect for casual dining, special occasions, or late night food and drink.
