“As I was waiting hangrily 45 minutes after I placed my order and 30 minutes after the ETA on my phone this painting soothed me until I ultimately received what I drove over an hour to get. Yes, it's that good. Please order with your phone, not in person. It makes things operate more smoothly for everyone and decreases the wait time for the crack. I mean food. Well I don't know what they put in their chicken, but full disclosure you might start experiencing side effects if you don't get your fix. Consider yourself warned. It can become a pricey habit and there is no rehab to get you off their sauce. Have you twitching like Tyrone Biggums for a "Sando with training wheels".“
“I don't drink much coffee these days. Mostly matcha. They source from Asha. Their coffee is very good, and with the gloomy weather, I've opted for it more often than not. They collaborate with local chefs for specials. The raspberry white chocolate mocha was my favorite limited edition drink.“
“My server handled an entire room during a busy lunchtime shift while keeping her cool!I opted for Tacos and was able to mix it up with 1 Pulled Bison and 2 Smoked Squash served with a fresh wild green salad. Wapepah’s blue corn bread is a beautiful grainy texture and pairs great with Warm Berry Pudding. Wait…. Don’t leave without getting Frybread! Its delicate crispy exterior is perfectly balanced with its soft warm freshness, topped with a buttery finish!“
“Donuts are definitely the best in town! Cute lil dog friendly place in the Laurel/Allendale district. There was an employee who gushed over my frenchie while we were there. Always friendly service. If you haven't had a cronut you will not regret the decision. My favorite is the salted caramel! This delicious box plus a latte for around $30 including a generous tip. I just love this place!“
“I finally got to try Bake Sum! The bakery was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Because of the small standing room, it was sort of hard to tell who was waiting on their order and who was still in line. They also offer few gift items along the wall, including Taiwanese chocolates, matcha powder, greeting cards, and cute shopping bags just to name a few that I saw. There is no seating, but luckily Lake Merritt is close by, and the perfect spot for a picnic. On a Saturday you might also finding seat at the Farmer's Market a block away. We tried the jasmine milk bun, pandan milk bun, ube cookie, and a coffee. It was around 11:30am on a Saturday and they were already low on inventory (when I got to the front I hear them say they JUST ran out of sesame cookies and I ordered one of the last jasmine milk buns). Of everything I tried I liked the jasmine milk bun the most, it was quite fragrant (just the way I like my jasmine flavored things)! These milk buns reminded me of my favorite melon milk buns that I had in Japan. I have no idea if they make them here...but that would be a dream to have that right here in the neighborhood! I will definitely plan on coming earlier next time so I have more of a selection to choose from.“
“Wonderful gem in Oakland's Jack London Square that pours the best pint of Guinness in the Bay Area. Great cozy atmosphere, helpful service, and delicious authentic food. In addition to Guinness and Irish Whiskey, my wife and I shared a plate of fish and chips, which made the perfect afternoon meal. Can't wait to come back again and again.“
“Went here last night after a friend found this place on Instagram, and we happened to be in town and tried it out. The atmosphere was so fun, really warm space heaters made it totally fine to sit outside at night, the inside looked super cute as well. The service was great and the food was divine. Standout dish to me was a spicy carrot appetizer, some of the most interesting and tasty food I’ve had in a while. A handful of vegan options, more vegetarian options, but even though it wasn’t lengthy, those dishes were so good it was fine by me!Vegetarian options: Although it isn’t a long list of vegetarian items, I am vegan and the dishes I did was were so delicious it’s worth it if those dishes sound at all appealing to you.“
“MAN, OMG! This is our NEW order-from/hangout place. NOT ONLY is the owner VERY FRIENDLY, KIND & HELPFUL but the FOOD is EXCELLENT (KUDOS to the Kitchen Chef whom customers often NEGLECT/FORGET about congratulating/commending in PERSON!). VERY VERY EXCELLENT (TOP NOTCH!) tuna sandwich! This place KNOWS what they're doing!!! And, NOT too many places know HOW to make a GREAT-TASTING tuna salad! Many either put TOO much mayonnaise or make it TOO dry. Places also tend sometimes to use brand/suppliers of tuna which tastes TOO FISHY!!! However, NOT SO AT ALL here, at Jebena Cafe! Their (female) cook makes a REAL "BOMB" (THE Bomb!) of a tuna sandwiches we've tasted in a LONG time (&, TRUST us! We've tasted tuna sandwiches in MANY-a-PLACES before!). This place makes one of the BEST ! NOT too salty; NOT too creamy; BOT too dry! JUST well-balanced good-fish taste with very FRESH & CRUNCHY lettuce & JUST RIGHT, well-toasted slices of bread!!! This sandwich ALWAYS gets even a HIGHER-MARKUP/"upgrade" when you ADD their SLICED HARD-BOILED egg to it!!! Their avocado toast is ALSO WONDERFUL-highly recommended (we always order BOTH the TUNA but ALSO, the AVOCADO toast & combine them, eating one half of each then, are left with the 2 other halves to go/for later (except that one must remember that avocado tends to darken if/when not eaten fresh)!!! Finally, their MOCHA & LATTE are great!!!“
“I eat everything and did not miss meat at all at this delicious restaurant. The food is as tasty as the pictures are beautiful. I can't recommend highly enough and can't wait to go back. I'm nearby now and only wish they were open for breakfast!“
“I'm not normally a tea drinker but I had the Hojicha latte and I have become addicted. It's amazing! They also have nice pastries with a French influence as well as a number of fancy teas for sale. My daughter said the strawberry milk with boba is delicious.Central location on Piedmont avenue with Wi-Fi and power if you need to do a little work on your laptop.Highly recommend.“
“I stepped in during my lunch break. I almost got out of line because it was moving slow, but I’m glad I didn’t. The line was there for a reason. I had the barbacoa and it reminded me of the one my aunt used to make. It was amazing! Support this place!“
“This is authentic Tian Jin jianbing that is made of mung bean instead of flour. Mung bean is special because it has a much better texture, high in protein and fiber. The taste is great, not ontological salty and not plain, not too sweet. It is just right.Highly recommend!“
“What an absolute blast ! Scott and Jen could not have been more thoughtful and kind hosts for a gorgeous New Years Eve celebetion! Scrumptious, so fun, so much free bubbly to go around and share, and left with many new friends!! Can't WAIT to return soon!!“

“Decided to come here after work for a burger, I ordered “the sideshow burger” it did not disappoint, the lettuce was fresh and crisp, the onion were grilled perfectly and the fries were soft but had a good crunch to it. I’ll definitely be back again, thank you Sideshow Kitchen for the great food, and hospitality.“
“A charming spot in downtown Oakland, where great service meets quality coffee. The owner’s dedication to improvement, seeking customers feedback, and surprising us with special treats, be it coffee or pastries, adds a delightful touch to the experience.“
“I cannot believe I never knew about this cafe when I lived nearby. Just discovered it today and will definitely be back! The BLT and Chipotle Chicken sandwiches were delicious & filling - generous portions of crispy bacon, lots of spring mix to be healthy and the French bread was beautifully warm and toasted. Limonada mineral just like we had in Mexico, and the Cafe de olla is a must try! The ladies were super sweet and gave us a sample of their chia pudding which was also delicious and I’ll be ordering a bowl for breakfast next time I come. This place is easy to miss as it doesn’t look like much from the front and the interior is small, but then there is a nice back patio with about 10 tables of various sizes including a huge communal table that can seat about ten people. The decor transported me back to our visits to Mexico. Love love love!Dietary restrictions: Has non dairy options for their espresso drinks“
“Romo Cafe is a bright shiny star in our Fairfax neighborhood. Mexican coffee is delicious and pairs well with oatmeal cookies. They have an excellent and diverse menu serving breakfast items like their Chia bowl and great lunch selections of salads and sandwiches.Parking: Usually parking within a blockKid-friendliness: Very kid-friendlyWheelchair accessibility: Downstairs is wheelchair accessible.“
“Fave bar in Oakland. Adventurous, ever-evolving cocktail menu. Food is affordable and delicious (didn’t know tater tots could be deep fried with such precision, lol).NO tv screens! Ambiance is “cool, cozy, librarian” and vinyl selection is deeeep.“
“Me and Jungle Cafe is one of the hidden treasures of this part of Oakland. The ambiance indoors is very cozy and cute and wonderfully decorated, and outdoors there is a fantastic back patio with wonderful plants and even a little greenhouse you can eat in. Food offerings include high quality cafe fare, some select brunch dishes like the excellent smoked salmon avocado toast, and also their signature rice wraps- like a fresh Vietnamese spring roll overstuffed with greens and different ingredients. All in all a great place.“
“Sometimes you need a mid day cider, or beer, or wine... you know where I'm going with this. Came in on a Thursday afternoon for some me time, and was shocked at myself for never seeing this place. Redfield will now definitely be a staple. The shop itself is super cute with relaxing music - you know to make work just a bit more bearable. The selection of cider is amazing - and having that hot cider on a chilly day is a must do this fall! I recommend the Mission Trail Cherries - It's the perfect amount of sweet and boozy, and the color is beautiful! It was described to me as kind of like a port but in cider form and being aged in a barrel (I can't remember what kind of barrel) - so just the right thing for me. Over all 10/10! Great drinks, friendly staff, and you can even buy some bottles for to go! Do yourself a favor - get a drink this weekend and if you're cold - get a hot cider.“
“This wonderful place is my other office. It's cute and cozy, has strong wifi, the staff is super friendly, and the food is delicious. It's not cheap, but they use lots of fresh, healthy ingredients and it's beautifully presented. I've recently had the winter lentil salad, the French grilled cheese, and the tomato bisque. Yum.“
“Third year in a row for Miracle on Telegraph. It's always a blast! The bartenders get into character and pours lots of delicious holidays drinks. This year my favorite was Rudolph's Replacement (it was like a coffee cocktail) hope they keep this tradition going for years to“
“Excellent bakery with delicious, beautifully produced pastries and cookies. Highly recommend the custard topped, strawberry jam filled pastry and the Ube croissant. The matcha cream filled pastry was a little overwhelmed by the sweetness and abundance of the topping, but if you have a sweet tooth like me, it's heaven. The flavor of the topping was still very good and it looked gorgeous! My husband was disappointed by the ham and cheese croissant and said he thought it could have used a little more filling. If you are familiar with Bake Sum on Lakeshore, you will know what to expect in terms of flavors, textures and types of pastries available.Parking can be tricky in this neighborhood but side streets are a good option.Parking: Use side streets“
“I am not Vegan and these are so good!!! I picked these up for my boyfriend's family who are vegan. The apple fritter was definitely my favorite, but they are all yummy. The girl working was very patient and friendly when helping me choose which ones to get. She also threw in some extra donut holes! The cinnamon one everyone raves about was sold out when I went around 11am. I'll definitely be back to bring them to the next family gathering. 10/10!!“
“Flavor wise, always excellent. With inflation though, the prices keep rising and the churros are getting smaller for sure. I've been coming since I was a kid and was shocked at the size this last time. Still love this place though. There are other carts as well nearby, but I like this place. They take cash & card.“
“I had the best red lentils I've ever tasted here. The vegetable wot is especially good, well seasoned greens, cabbage, corn, etc. on injera. And the parking's good, especially for Berkeley. My companion and I each got parking spots right in front of the restaurant.“
“It's a cool spot with great sandwiches. The best really. But seriously everyone in the shop is super cool and nice but the guy on the register. I think he might be worse than the red head chica they had doing it before.Been a regular since they opened as I live and work in neighborhood. But dealing with that guy is the worst.Tip- order online. Let the app tell you when it's done to minimize your interactions with the dude.“
“My favorite brewery in Oakland and it’s not even close. Large and diverse selection of beers such as IPA’s, malty ( schwarzbier, dopplebock, brown ale, etc), and light beers. the inside can be kind of tight but they have plenty of outdoor seating and the upstairs which has more seating and an entertainment area for kids. The customer service and the owners are always good people and there is food trucks always outside when I’m there which are quality as well. The only thing I can recommend is to watch your cars in the area. It’s still Oakland but I have yet to see a break in of my car or others but I would take valuables out. Other then that come visit this brewery, enjoy the amazing beers and good people.“
“Not only does the owner, Jerry, make a mean sandwich, but he's also incredibly kind & generous. He makes his customers immediately feel part of the warm community he's created. The physical cafe isn't particularly cozy, but Jerry & his friendly staff are all the ambience you need!Vegetarian options: Veggie panini is DELICIOUS! Even my meat-adoring husband wanted my sandwich.Parking: Although it's a very busy area, I found metered parking a few feet from the door both times I visited.“
“Best Thai food in the Bay Area. The Khao Soi soup is an explosion of flavor and so delicious. The way they package it to go, your soup and chicken stay hot and your crispy bits stay crispy it's magical. Every time family visits me here, I order from here. The staff is also incredible. I will continue to frequent this place regularly until I leave the Bay.“
“Met with friends at Los Feliz golf course. We came into Morrison for a quick bite and a beer. We are so happy we came in. We come to this place a lot because it's the best pub in Los Angeles. I had the spicy chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. We worked with the amazing Danielle. She was super attentive and is one of the best servers I've ever had. We had Don Julio 1942 for 10$ a shot!! Thank you so much, we will be back soon!“
“Precious, authentic experience. Each dish is lovingly built using traditional recipes. We were just in El Salvador and the food at Popoca was better than anything we had there. The layers of flavors and textures were incredible and so was the presentation. Our server was kind and helpful. Bless this place and the people working there. It’s a labor of love.“
“Very good coffee, nothing fancy. Very good food options (I usually get the shihan ful). Hangout for a portion of the local Eritrean community. Very friendly place.Dietary restrictions: I've gone with a friend who has a serious food allergy. They were great about accommodating.“
“This mac and cheese is perfect- PERFECT. When I'm not in the area, I cry. I got the cookbook for Christmas a couple of years ago and that can tide me over but of course, I'd rather it come from the OG. My absolute favorites are the pesto mac or pizza mac - both of which will rotate on and off the menu. A crunchy top is a necessity. I prefer the breadcrumbs but they have other options like hot Cheetos or chips too. Thank you for existing, Homeroom. ILY.“
“My first Kava experience didn’t disappoint! Upon learning this was my first time trying Kava, the barista offered us a ceremony to try it first and explained the origin and types of Kava to me.Tried the Colada and warm special Kava. Def a fun experience that’s quintessential Berkeley / Oakland. Check them out if you are in the area.“
“Best wings in the East Bay! Stopped in to visit my friend in Oakland and was pleasantly surprised. The Korean fried wings are hand breaded, tender, and nothing short of amazing. Looking for some heat though Catfish bites were absolutely perfect The cocktail list rivals any fancy rooftop in San Francisco Plenty of room to accommodate large groups. Conveniently located close to the convention center. Stop in to see Mikey or Paul during happy hour“
“Delicious bowls that make me feel so satisfied and energized. The poke bowl was maybe the highest quality most yummy poke bowl I’ve had, it was perfectly balanced; the rice to fish ratio, the crunch of the veggies and the soft rice and fish. You can sample their extensive and DELICIOUS kombucha menu, melon rose was my fave. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. I had lovely conversation with Ari and Sam (I think??) about language and culture.Lovely clean bathrooms and a beautiful space with lots of light, high ceilings, and plants.I love it what can I say! Can’t wait to bring my mom here who is on a low-fat whole food diet. She can’t eat at most restaurants but I saw so many options for her here!!!I spent the afternoon here working remotely after a dank lunch ?“
“Ordered on Doordash. The price and quality are probably the best I've ever had from the site in years of ordering. I'll be ordering from here in the future without a doubt.I got the chicken bowl with lemon thyme dressing and there's a reason it's their number 1 seller. The cashew chocolate comes in dressing containers but they're also reasonably priced.“
“OMG we’ve been dreaming of their milanesa sandwich for years and we just discovered that this location makes them fresh to order! Allow 15-20mins but trust it’s worth the wait ? hands down one of the best milanesas! Grab some empanadas while you wait- we had the mushroom and carne empanadas and they were delicious. Going to grab some empanadas to go as they can be reheated later and enjoyed ? if you haven’t tried Javi’s this is your sign that you must ?“
“A huge shout-out to Boca Nova for their excellent food and service last night. We had a large reception for UC Office of the President's Health department prior to today's conference. The food was amazing and plentiful, service was impeccable, and Martin who I worked with from start to finish, was great. He was knowledgeable about the restaurant and food, offered guidance about the food when I needed it, was such a gentleman, and made us feel like we were dining in his own home. I can't thank you enough. I highly recommend this amazing restaurant. Thank you!“
“We had the Doro Tibs, Beg Alicha, Azifa, and Vegetarian sampler. The injera fermented bread was amazing!! The food was excellent, service was great, and the servers were very friendly and fast. Multiple spice levels are available (the normal options are not very spicy for those with lower tolerance). Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Highly recommend to anyone!“
“Okay, I've been back many times now. Something about this place makes me feel incredibly welcomed every time. The employees and the patrons are all just here to have a good time and make sure everyone is enjoying themselves. I mean I went in recently and they surprised a regular with a birthday cake! This spot has me locked in, it's got it's own little thriving community and I love it. I will keep coming back for the good times and especially the Underberg.“
“Hands down the BEST of all Oakland Vietnamese has to offer! The fried chicken rolls are addictive, the veggies and chicken spring rolls fresh and flavorful. My favorites are their grilled pork Bahn Mi and grilled chicken Pho. Consistently delicious take out EVERYtime.“
“WELCOME TO WEST OAKLAND BRIX! This new brewery on the west side opened up less than a month ago and has all the essentials for a spring/summer fun day in the sun. - Plenty of Outdoor seated on a patio - Really spacious indoor seating - Plenty of hours in direct and indirect sunlight - Great variety of beers on tap I tried the Siklon Stout which was very good. Served at a great temp and not too foamy. The servers are experienced, some coming over from the very popular Almanac brewing company so they are used to handling big groups and educating on what they have on tap. Prices were very reasonable. Come show the new business some love, I for sure will be venturing back this summer many times.“
“Loved Binny's! We found this place on accident on a Thursday night, but it was a great find! The space feels intimate, not super busy, and it's super cute inside. The food is simple but really hits the spot, and the drinks are super delicious. The bartender and staff are super attentive, quick, and happy to modify based on taste. I really enjoyed the arugula salad and grilled cheese. The food wasn't too oily, especially the catfish bites, and they were super tender and fresh. There was also a good amount of vegetarians options too!If you get the chance to try anything, the shots are insanely good. This place was a great spot to end a crazy busy Thursday work night!“
“Nick’s Pizza is my favorite pizza in all of the Bay Area. Their pastries and bread and sandwiches are great as well. Their classics are amazing, but I have to go at least monthly just to try the seasonal options. Whenever I want pizza, Nick’s is the go-to!“
“I like saucy pizza, which is why I like Heshers. We were first introduced to the pizza when we used to come to crooked city cider. Now heshers has taken over the whole building in a prime area of Jack London Square. We came at opening time, 12 PM on a rainy Saturday for a friends birthday. Because it is a rainy weekend we had to change our outdoor plans and this is a great location for a large group with dogs who can hang out indoors. Also great because you order at the counter and don't have to deal with a group check mess. We ordered our drinks at the counter, and some people who were able to try small tastings if they were unsure of what to order. Pizza was ordered at the window in the corner and brought out to us according to our numbers. The staff was accommodating to our large group, and we were the only ones there until a Meetup took over the other half of the restaurant with their boardgames. There are also tons of boardgames in the cabinet that you can play and pinball machines in their own separate area, along with the pool table. Great place to keep entertained while enjoying your pizza, beer, wine, cider, kombucha, or nonalcoholic beverage. There is a water station right behind the cashier. There are two unisex restrooms, straight back. They have the little locks that tell you if they are in use or vacant, which is very helpful. They also do some heavy metal concerts here, which my husband was very excited about when he saw the listings for them. While we were there, the music was not very loud so we were able to chat freely. There are metered parking, free parking streets, or it is a walk down from 12th St. BART. They used to have a free Broadway shuttle, I'm not sure if that's still exists Join their social media pages and you'll be informed of special events, concerts, trivia, bingo, and what not. Our vegan friend is very happy that they have a vegan pizza option here. There is something for everyone! You can help bus your tables by taking empty glasses to the front and the rest of the trash area. There are benches in the front that you can hang out at if it's a nice day out.“
“I needed help Recombiputating a Stringed Hypintalcomitor and my pal Crosscut Kenny from Oaktown is going to save the day! I picked him up at his shop, The Wagon Works there on 26th and was going to go straight to Portnoy Lear's up to Broadway Terrace where I have the thing deployed but Ol Crosscut needs to eat first. Luckily the Railroad Stop Deli is only a block away from his shop!I've never been to this deli before, and all I can say is WOW! 5 Stars! ☆☆☆☆☆“
“Dear Taquerowhen my husband ordered my chicken burrito, light rice, extra cheese, sour cream, no onion, extra cilantro you made a face. . .when he apologized, you said, "no problem, everyone likes their burrito how they like their burrito." you then proceeded to make one of the top 5 burritos of my life. It was perfectionion! thank you, dearest Taquero, for putting your ideals aside and making my dream burrito. you're a real one!!btw, of you live in Oakland and have never been to Taqueria El Paisa just go. . . it is one of the best in all of Oakland.“
