The cozy and intimate setting is simply decorated, focusing on the food and presentation, which makes for a delightful experience. Customers describe the food as meticulously and artistically prepared, reflecting the owner's passion and skill. The space is small and welcoming, with friendly wait staff. Dishes like Spotted Knifejaw and Sea Bream highlight the menu, which is praised for high-quality fish and creativity, such as the unique crystal bread. Overall, Delage offers a fun experience with excellent sake pairing and a thoughtful use of local ingredients, making it one of the best Japanese restaurants in Oakland and the East Bay.

Probably the best meal I’ve ever had, super fun, exciting, every bite was perfect. Intimate and fast process
absolutely worth it. I have eaten at many Michelin stars and similar hoity-toity spots. the food here is unquestionably on par. do yourself a favor: ask for some green tea along with your meal.
What a fantastic omakase spot! Super fresh and well prepared. They’re really creative, and the entire 8 course menu is an amazing experience. They only have 2 seatings per night and eight seats, so count yourself lucky if you snag a spot! Loved the wine selection (local!) and sake, too.

Our favorite was the ocean trout nigiri, tuna nigiri, and the fried black cod. Special shoutout to the strawberry macha dessert!
