Some of the best happy hour oysters I’ve EVER had in the bay! Shucked perfectly, no stray shell bits or dodgy looking insides, and I love that it comes with real horseradish. I’ll be back just for these, but the other food and drinks we got were just as excellent.
I really enjoyed going to the district. We went after the Lake Fest festival. I was happy to see that there was plenty of good seating and the wait staff was very attentive. They have a DJ that starts at 9:00 p.m. so it changes the mood and it's an excellent old-school R&B vibe with a touch of Hip Hop classics. The crowd is more mature and very into the culture. Stopped by for dinner on a Monday night. Took my son who is a picky eater and he loved everything we had. We started with the house cut fries with truffle aioli. They were hot and well seasoned, and definitely a generous portion. My kid went through 4 containers of aioli. District Oakland is a wonderful restaurant with a lively atmosphere and impeccable service. It remains a great spot for happy hour, offering a selection of affordable bites including oysters, wings, fries, deviled eggs, and Brussels sprouts. The fries are crispy yet creamy on the inside, and the deviled eggs are topped with pickled radish. The kitchen does an excellent job with the happy hour menu, which is simple and straightforward. The drink selection is good, and the staff is friendly, with a good mix of customers enjoying the space. Happy hour specials and delicious food make it a popular destination in the Bay area. The place has a cozy feel with cushioned seating and music from a DJ. Street parking can be a challenge, but there is plenty of metered street parking available in Old Oakland, along with a lot across the street.
