I ordered a split scoop with Mango Sticky Rice and Pink Berry, and my mind was absolutely blown.The Mango Sticky Rice is easily the best flavor on the menu. It’s actually a vegan flavor, combining a super rich, creamy coconut ice cream base with a vibrant mango sorbet. The contrast between the two textures works so incredibly well, and it tastes exactly like the actual Thai dessert without being overly heavy.Pairing it with the Pink Berry was the ultimate move. It adds this beautifully bright, refreshing, and slightly tart fruit contrast that balances out the rich coconut flawlessly. “YESSSSS. Nearly perfect. I’m from NJ. I grew up on NYC and Philly Italian delis and boars head delis everywhere. I believe that access to a respectable deli is a basic human right. Yet every deli on the west coast manages to screw up a very simple staple food item… the sub, the hoagie, the grinder… whatever you wanna call it. NOT brothers deli. They have a solid list of ingredients and allow totally custom sandwiches. They have semolina (sesame) rolls. They have mortadella, they let you order fresh mozzarella or roasted red peppers on your sandwich. They don’t try to put pastrami on an Italian sub. I could go on and on.

They. Do. It. Right. Period. Go and get you some!

For the owners: soppressata and hot coppa (capicola) would be epic additions to the menu. Please stay in business. I need you.“

Black Cod was okay, my husband enjoyed it. The cod was cooked perfectly and the potato cake had just enough crunch on the outside nice and moist on the inside. Beautiful dish 🙂
Waygu beef va de vi burger was “okay” the brioche bun that it was served on was saturated with butter and it wasn’t the freshest as it crumbled when I cut it in half.
Brussel sprouts were very good flavored with bacon, walnuts and lemon, absolutely delicious 🙂“

“Very friendly owner. Offered 5% discount on cash payments. We ordered 3 dishes. Kaokao chicken, char siu over rice, and beef brisket noodle soup. The star of the meal was the char siu over rice. We’ll reorder that for sure. The beef brisket’s soup was soy sauce forward, my husband enjoyed the noodle but it was a tad too soft for me. The kaokao chicken is very well cooked, moist chicken, but it was a confused dish imo, so it is not a dish we would reorder. Overall good tasting food, we’d come back for the char siu. The restaurant was very smokey, and it stuck to my body and clothes all day after. So I would not come here before going anywhere important, so you’ll smell of bbq.“

“We often bring out-of-towners here because it's hard to find Laotian food outside of the Bay and Vientian Cafe always delivers. The menu is super extensive and very reasonably priced, so you can try a bunch of new things each time. We always get the nam kao and the lao sausage (which you can also take home frozen). Angel wings are also super addictive.

Food also travels well if you're looking for takeout. One of our favorite spots in the east bay!“

The owner is very friendly. We tried a variety of flavors, and then ended up getting the Roasted Cashew, Lemon Creme and the Strawberry.

“This is a cozy little Thai spot that completely changed my perspective on Thai food. I was never particularly drawn to Thai cuisine before, but this restaurant gave me a genuinely new appreciation for it :-)

My usual order is the Garden rolls, Spicy basil wings, and Pad thai. The Garden rolls are refreshingly simple, there’s no protein competing for attention, so you can actually taste the vegetables themselves. The dipping sauce is restrained rather than overpowering, which makes the whole dish feel nicely balanced.

The spicy basil wings are probably my favorite. The sauce is flavorful and remarkably well balanced, with just the right combination of savory, sweet, and aromatic basil notes.

The pad thai, with both shrimp and tofu, is substantial enough to make a satisfying meal on its own. My one consistent complaint, however, is the seasoning. It tends to be quite heavy-handed, with more sauce than I personally prefer, and I almost always find it too salty. I think a little less sauce and a more generous amount of vegetables would make the dish significantly better.

Overall, though, this has become one of those places I keep coming back to, which says quite a bit considering I never used to be much of a Thai food person.“

From the menu we tried the Avocado Toast and Ful plate. Both items were tasty and it was enough to share between two. The Ful came with warm bread, possibly freshly baked. It was an enjoyable experience. Definitely worth the visit and a must try.“
