“I kid you not, I cannot find a better chicken sandwich restaurant in the entire Bay Area than Lou's. When my friend introduced it to me 2 years ago, I feel in love with this place. The vibe is nice, the staff is wonderful and efficient in their work, and the product is amazing thanks to the aforementioned qualities. Each variation of their fried chicken sandwiches are great with their unique flavors, from simple buttermilk to their sweet caramel fish sauce and their savory karrage is ome you can't pass. I have only had their sandwiches and fries, but I will definitely try their rice and noodles plates in the future.

My only regret right now is that I didn't grab a sandwich before moving down south, but rest assured, when I come back to town to visit, this will be the first restaurant I go to. I hope this review and the fact that this is my first ever Google review will show how great this restaurant is.“

“I honestly don't even know how to describe how good this ice cream is! Melt Me Creamery has completely ruined all other ice cream shops for me. I ordered a split scoop with Mango Sticky Rice and Pink Berry, and my mind was absolutely blown.The Mango Sticky Rice is easily the best flavor on the menu. It’s actually a vegan flavor, combining a super rich, creamy coconut ice cream base with a vibrant mango sorbet. The contrast between the two textures works so incredibly well, and it tastes exactly like the actual Thai dessert without being overly heavy.Pairing it with the Pink Berry was the ultimate move. It adds this beautifully bright, refreshing, and slightly tart fruit contrast that balances out the rich coconut flawlessly. The texture of their ice cream and sorbet is consistently top-notch—so smooth and clearly crafted with care.The shop itself is boutique and charming, and the staff are incredibly welcoming with samples. Even when it gets a little crowded, it is entirely worth the wait. I will absolutely be back to claim my loyalty stamps!“

“We decided to try Va de Vi Bistro & Wine Bar after reading about it online. We arrived in the mid-to-late afternoon without a reservation and were fortunate to get an indoor table before the dinner rush.

We started with a Cacio e Pepe Biscuit and wine. I wanted to explore their Spanish wine selection, so I tried all three options in 3 oz pours. We also shared the Beet Salad, made with golden beets, quinoa, and sherry vinaigrette, and the Ceviche Tostadas with mahi-mahi, mango salsa, and avocado. Both were delicious, although my wife managed to claim the third tostada!

For our main courses, we ordered the Paella and Linguine Gamberi. The paella, with saffron rice, seafood, chorizo, and shrimp, was particularly flavorful, and we thoroughly enjoyed the linguine as well. Despite being quite full, we couldn't resist the Dessert for Two, featuring key lime pie and three other small desserts. We managed to sample everything, although finishing it all was another matter!

Service was excellent throughout our visit. Our server was attentive, kept our wine glasses filled, and made sure we never waited long between orders. Other staff members promptly cleared our table after each course.

The indoor dining area was comfortable, and the outdoor garden seating looked beautiful and relaxing. Overall, we had a wonderful experience with delicious food, excellent service, and a pleasant atmosphere. We'd happily return.“

Once you find the right door it’s a super chill vibe in a small space. The chef was preparing everything as we walked in and the server sat us down. The food was super fresh and the chef was very kind. There were 13 different sashimis served along with 6 additional courses of non sashimi items. “We often bring out-of-towners here because it's hard to find Laotian food outside of the Bay and Vientian Cafe always delivers. The menu is super extensive and very reasonably priced, so you can try a bunch of new things each time. We always get the nam kao and the lao sausage (which you can also take home frozen). Angel wings are also super addictive.

Food also travels well if you're looking for takeout. One of our favorite spots in the east bay!“

“We were gifted our first ever Bake Sum box. After trying just one bite of a Yuzu meringue bun I knew I needed more. Ordered our second BSB last week and shared amongst the roomies, huge hit. Well baked, not too sweet, great flavor combinations. 10/10 would recommend the Bake Sum box. If you can’t grab a box, you can grab al a cart day of pick ups just to tide you over until you can get a box 😋“

We’ve been ordering from Hawking Bird for the last year - it’s our go-to spot for delicious fried chicken and flavorful garlic noodles. Our standard order: the Tanya Special. This ingenious dish focused on my favorite Hawking Bird offerings with none of the fluff. Imagine my disappointment when I learned this special was removed from the menu! Yes, you can alter the fried chicken bowl (sub noodles, remove the cucumber/cilantro/mint) but Tanya was generous, providing a larger portion size that cannot be recreated. Times are tough, and Miss Tanya provided some relief.

My loyalty to Hawking Bird has not wavered, I’m placing an order right now - but please consider bringing this special back!“

“YESSSSS. Nearly perfect. I’m from NJ. I grew up on NYC and Philly Italian delis and boars head delis everywhere. I believe that access to a respectable deli is a basic human right. Yet every deli on the west coast manages to screw up a very simple staple food item… the sub, the hoagie, the grinder… whatever you wanna call it. NOT brothers deli. They have a solid list of ingredients and allow totally custom sandwiches. They have semolina (sesame) rolls. They have mortadella, they let you order fresh mozzarella or roasted red peppers on your sandwich. They don’t try to put pastrami on an Italian sub. I could go on and on.

They. Do. It. Right. Period. Go and get you some!

The vibes here are great, the bartenders are lovely, and they have some great merch for sale! My mom who visits from out of state has bought a tote bag, hat, and sweatshirt from Redfield just so she can flex to her friends back home how awesome this bar is. “Very friendly owner. Offered 5% discount on cash payments. We ordered 3 dishes. Kaokao chicken, char siu over rice, and beef brisket noodle soup. The star of the meal was the char siu over rice. We’ll reorder that for sure. The beef brisket’s soup was soy sauce forward, my husband enjoyed the noodle but it was a tad too soft for me. The kaokao chicken is very well cooked, moist chicken, but it was a confused dish imo, so it is not a dish we would reorder. Overall good tasting food, we’d come back for the char siu. The restaurant was very smokey, and it stuck to my body and clothes all day after. So I would not come here before going anywhere important, so you’ll smell of bbq.“
