“Real, honest BBQ. I had the 2 meat combo with brisket, ribs, mac & cheese and potato salad. Best BBQ I have had since I was in Austin Texas! The owner was working hard with the rest of his employees and was the one to take my order. He seemed very nice and was helpful. I work within walking distance so I can see myself becoming a regular here. Canyons is an excellent addition to Castro Valley's food scene.“

“Their Eastern European beer selection is fantastic! Which is better, Lithuanian or Ukrainian beer? It might take me 10 years and hundreds of liters to decide, what with all the Polish, Czech, German and Latvian beers confusing my decisions. And most everything in the deli case goes well with beer: chebureki and piroshki pies, hearty picnic salads and slaws. Their wines are diverse and interesting, the cookies are good with their teas, and the frozen pilmenyi and varenyki make a good change from ravioli once in a while. I avoid the cakes and sausages, although they are delicious I need to diet after all the beer and siberian pilmenyi. Well, maybe one sausage...“

The food, from the passed appetizers like the filo and chicken skewers, beautiful, light, and tasty salad, to their chicken breast, sweet potato, and brussel sprouts dish (as well as the yummy risotto) were delectable! Did I mention the gorgeous floral arrangements Jessica and her team created from pictures we sent her and which were visually stimulating - WOW! “Went to the San Ramon City Center Farmer’s Market and decided to try these tamales out. I bought the Chicken & Pork Tamales as well as the green Tomatillo Salsa to go with it. Everything was fantastic. Well made, excellent flavor, and the Tomatillo Salsa is so good. I’m going to put this on everything. Would definitely buy from Alicia’s again.“

“Best veggie burger in San Leandro hands down! Veggie burgers are pretty predictable these days, with a few common veggie patties out there - Blue Dish uses the Beyond Patty, but I must say, they dress it up with fresh, thoughtfully-arranged produce and a delightful melted cheese skirt. They cook it nicely, and sandwich it between a tasty soft bun. I ordered the side of fries, and the seasoning was nice. I will definitely return!“

“We used the JLC team for our wedding this Fall and they were beyond incredible!! We hosted 165 people at a family home, so there were plenty of quirks that the team had to work around-- cooking for a large group with a satellite kitchen, hosting cocktail hour at a barn on the backside of the property that required a long carry, etc. and they were beyond exceptional in every way. Everything from the menu creation, to the thoughtfulness in working with us to create our perfect specialty cocktails, to the professionalism and proficiency of the bar staff, to the gorgeous dinner service and late night chocolate chip cookies and was expertly executed, beautiful and delicious! We still have people telling us that it was not only the best wedding food they've ever eaten, but one of the most enjoyable meals they've ever had. “Stopped in to watch some football and grab a bite n' a beer. The food and beer selection were excellent. They had several hazy IPA options available, which is always a plus in my book. Both the staff and regulars were all fairly knowledgeable regarding football if you're into that.

“I could not be more stoked about a restaurant than this one. This place has the best tandoori meats and today I got to try a pani puri too and man!!! did my taste buds transport to New Delhi days or what!!! I ordered a combo plate with lamb chops and lamb sheesh kabob. Perhaps the most tender and meatiest lamb chops ever and amazing value for money. The owner himself is vegetarian, yet seems to have perfected meat and veg tandoor dishes. this place is Magic!“
