“I love AK Meats! I only recently realized it’s owned by the same family as 25th & Clement Produce next door, which makes perfect sense — the quality is outstanding across both shops.
The meat, seafood, and deli selections are top‑notch. The sandwiches look incredible too, but I usually buy sliced deli meat to take home for my thirteen‑year‑old’s school lunches.
One of my favorite things about AK Meats is being able to buy exactly the amount I need. It’s so nice to get a small portion from the butcher instead of having to buy a whole pre‑packaged amount that might go bad. I love grabbing my protein here and then popping next door for the rest of my ingredients.

“Possibly the greatest Halal Deli shops in California. From the moment you step in you are met with a lively atmosphere reminiscent of a New York bodega with a SF twist. The food was incredible, I had the M-Stop which had some of the best smoked meat I've ever had. They smoke their meat in house and it always comes out great. Definitely check this place out if you live anywhere in the Bay, it is a must try!“

“I got the manakish with zaatar and some chicken noodle soup, both were good and tasted homemade. The place is very clean and well run and it turns out it was Amal herself behind the counter and she was incredibly nice! Seems like a good reliable spot to go to in the neighborhood.“

“I used to pass by this store all the time, but today I finally decided to stop by and check it out — honestly such a nice surprise 😂
They have sooo many different products and snacks, especially the German Haribo and chocolates. I swear I’ve never seen this many types of German Haribo in any other store before.

They also have a really good selection of beers and wines, lots of variety and different options you don’t usually find in one place.

“My go to spot now for sandwiches when I go to the presidio. I got the San Franpyscho on Dutch crutch, I’ve seen so many people post about it and it didn’t disappoint. I also got the rated R to eat later but tried it fresh and it had nice kick to it, and I’m not sure which one I like better since they both hit the spot, but there’s so many options, it was hard to choose. It’s a deli & market so has all the picnic needs + the Sandwiches obviously, super convenient!“

“This places is a gem! I've had so many mid and over-priced sandwiches in this city but everything I've had here has been very flavorful, fresh and reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and I've never had to wait long. Would easily go out of my way to get the Big Burrito, which has scrambled bacon, veggies, cheese, and hash browns.“

My partner’s job ordered catering, and lucky for me there was still an Italian on Dutch crunch at the end of the event. He snagged it for me. And let me just say: some might say a sandwich is a sandwich. Wrong.

The way the fresh ingredients and flavors marry together is just perfect. The bread to sandwich ratio is perfect and that catering order must have extra protein. The quality of the meat is far superior. And the mayo? Listen… if you know anything about Hawaii, you know we are serious about our mayonnaise.

The best part: I had half fresh on Wednesday and saved the other half for a field trip with my class on Friday and it was just as good. TWO days later.

Now I just need to find time to get there in person (limited hours!) because my friend swears they have the best chopped cheese he has ever had better than New York. If you’re looking for the best sandwich in the Bay Area, get here now.“

“I don't buy a lot of deli food, but City's Choice is an exception. I have become fond of their turkey sandwiches, and usually order one when I visit a friend at his work for lunch. The ingredients always taste fresh, and the couple that runs the shop are efficient. It doesn't hurt that their prices on sandwiches are the best in the neighborhood.“
