“Pick-A-Deli is easily the best deli in the area! Their sandwich selection is great and of very high quality. They also have nice daily specials that you can choose from. The service here is great and you can feel the love that they put into preparing your food. I've met the owners a couple of times and I can honestly say that they are some of the nicest people that you'll ever meet. They always ask how I'm doing. My favorite thing about the deli is the huge beverage selection that they have. As someone who is indecisive about what they want to drink for the day, Pick-A-Deli provides a plethora of options. “I love me a good sandwich in any form and when I was in the area I was surprised to see not too many options in Castro Valley. I came close to giving up and driving away right before I found this Italian Delicatessen. Thankfully it met all of my expectations! These sandwiches are LOADED! They are not shy with the veggies or deli-meat. I tried 2 sandwiches, the Dutch crutch was amazinggg. The sourdough was a true sourdough bread. Loved this place and will definitely come back!“

“I love this place! The owners are friendly and polite, always going out of their way to provide great service. I call and place my order and then drive down to pick up most of the time. They get fresh produce delivered everyday and they have some great potato salad they make that comes with the sandwich orders. The salads are delicious too! Because the ingredients are so fresh I can usually leave a salad in my fridge for 2 days and it still tastes amazing. 10/10 recommend this business #shoplocal“
“The potatoes bolanis, cream rolls and chocolate cake slices are delicious. The rote is very delicious too, especially the rote for the 40th day celebration of a baby's birth. When ordered beforehand, they will bake a big, special rote with almonds. I always get the 40th day rotes for the babies of my family and small sized one to distribute among family.“
“What a GEM! And a hidden one at that.Celebrated Thanksgiving a bit early with #ThankYouThursday and decided to check out pot pie paradise after seeing the great reviews on Yelp. I'm not normally a pot pie type of person, but with the cold weather, it was definitely the way to go.Pot Pie Paradise is nestled in an industrial part of Hayward so it's a bit of a drive through back roads to get there. They've got a decent parking lot and when I stopped by after lunch time, it wasn't too busy. They have a really helpful menu that shows all the options they have for pies, sandwiches, and other lunch choices. It's also updated to show which pies they're sold out of. I wanted to try the bulgogi beef but unfortunately they were sold out that day. Instead, I went for the Thai chicken curry. The Thai chicken curry pot pie ($10) had noodles, green beans, chicken, and carrots in it. It was delicious! I don't usually have noodles with thai chicken curry but it worked here. It's a pretty good portion for lunch and can maybe even be shared with two people. Though for me, I ended up just having the rest later for dinner.The service was great and the staff was very helpful. I loved reading the newspaper articles they have posted around the shop as I waited. They've got lots of seating inside if you prefer to dine in but I opted to take it to-go.Such a great local business! I'll definitely be back to try other pot pie options.“
