“Great bagels, friendly, line moves quickly. They're not kidding when they say they sell out within a couple hours of opening. I arrived around an hour after opening and the everything bagels were sold out. I will absolutely return, and I have to wake up earlier next time!“

“Absolutely delicious!! I took a bite before taking a picture. The bread tasted so so fresh, cream cheese was locally sourced from a James Dairy Farm, and there were so many veggies in the smear. You can tell a difference from Holey Bagel that this place has fresher ingredients.“

“Solid! I got an egg, cheddar, and sausage sandwich on a sesame bagel for $10.95 and took it across the street to eat in the cute Noe Valley plaza. The workers were friendly and the service was very fast. Great spot for a hearty midday snack.“

“Debuted at the end of the pandemic in response to an ethnic slur Dago Bagel from Tony Gemignani is one of three concepts inhabiting 728 Vallejo Street, and from Thursday through Sunday beginning at 08:00am guests are welcome to enjoy everything from true New York Style Bagels to housemade loaves and traditional Italian Pastries made with skill and love.
A change of pace for the lauded Pizza maker, a man whose name is nearly-synonymous with North Beach, it is inside the shop that acts as both Bakery and storefront that guests will meet well trained staff and pleasant servers more than willing to discuss products and production at length.
Beginning with Bagels, developed in conjunction with Adam Sachs, Dago’s collection spans from Pride to Everything and from stretchy skin to a dense interior with good chew the “best” is a matter of personal opinion whether toasted with Cream Cheese or plain.
Liberally using Malt and a Cuppone Panettone deck oven imported from Italy, plus stone-ground Flour made on-site, visitors attention is next drawn to Toscano Brothers including “Gold Standard” Baguettes and Organic Sourdough Ace Pagnotta incorporating Spelt, Rosemary and Olives into a 40 year old Sourdough starter.
Trending sweet from here, a Sour Cherry and Chocolate Batard souring local produce and TCHO Chocolate, Tony’s “Piattina” cuts a wide swath of textures and flavors before Antonio’s Italians Pastries rounds things out with classic Rainbow Cookies and world-class Lemon Ricotta Cake plus silky Budino hidden alongside Prosciutto and Mortadella in the cold case.“

“This is the cutest little breakfast spot in this part of SF! On one hand, I hope they blow up online and get the same love as other bakeries have, but on the other hand, I want the lines to stay short!
We got the pain au chocolate, which was so delicious! The chocolate filling was great and they had a copious amount in the pastry. It was also soft and warm, probably one of the best pain au chocolates I have ever had. We also got the iced chai latte, which was flavorful and nice! Finally, we got the jalapeño cheese bagel with garlic herb cream cheese. The cream cheese was scrumptious, but the bagel felt a little stale.
Service was fast for the place’s size, and it smelled delicious inside when we walked in. There is a little seating area but it’s probably better to take your food to go.“

“Easily the best (and most disgusting) bagel shop on polk street! years ago I came in for a breakfast bagel, the lady was mopping the floor. She stopped what she was doing, took my order and cash, got change, and proceeded to make the bagel. Halfway through she cut her finger opening a pack of cheese with a knife, looked at the wound, and proceeded to make my bagel. I ate it anyway. It was delicious! Thank you! I'll be back.“

“Stopped by on a Saturday morning and there was no line, and I had my food within 5 minutes of ordering. I went with a custom everything bagel with egg salad. Both were incredibly fresh and made for a very satisfying meal. The shop has a lovely, open atmosphere where you can watch the bagel making process. This does seem like a takeout spot as there isn’t really any dining space. It is a bit pricey, but given the quality and freshness, it felt well worth it. Great bagel spot in general.“

“Food was okay. I had the lemon lox bagel and added sprouts. Also got an Arnold Palmer that came in one of those rectangle plastic bottles. It’s only an order at the window kind of deal but I like that they text you when your order is ready if you order from yelp.“

“This being one of the few breakfast options on Castro I decided to try it. I ordered the Lox sandwich because I’ve been craving a lox bagel. I got it with the jalapeño bagel and I liked the bagel part but with so many cucumbers and tomatoes in between it was messy and fell apart easily, I would’ve preferred less veggies and a little more salmon. For $14s I was disappointed. If I ever go back I’ll just get a bagel with spread.“

“Best bagels and cream cheese in the city! I've been to their Fillmore Street location several times, but this is my first time at this specific location. The employees were fun and friendly. There isn't a spot to eat inside, but there are many tables to eat at outside.“

“Good for a quick bite. I like the local feel of the place but it can get very crowded, especially on the weekends so I'm glad for the outdoor tables. I like to stop by when I'm going to hang out near Ocean Beach. The food is tasty!“
“Temo's Cafe - the place, the people, where you find good coffee, a smile, understandig and, if needed, helping hand. Lamea is an angel...was our angel... long time ago. We never will forget you, Lamea, and your open heart... And your nice, lovely family ... A kiss and a hug from Petra and Anna“

“L’s is a wonderful place if you have a gluten allergy / celiac disease!! They are extremely caring and careful (make sure to tell them you have an allergy) and they went above and beyond to ensure my gluten free bagel was prepared safely (changed their gloves, used all clean surfaces etc.). They are clearly very knowledgable and prepared to meet dietary needs. And the gluten free bagel tasted delicious!!! Which is so rare. Can’t recommend enough. I’ll definitely be back!!“

“Decoration here is very calming which sets a great spot to post up and lock in on work. The tables are separated by plants which give you some privacy if you want or need it.
I came here at 8am to set up for work, and I overheard many repeat customers come in and get greeted on a first name basis. It is cute to see and feel how routine all of these interactions seem.
For a 16oz americano, it cost me less than $5 which is nice considering prices today and the area. I didn’t eat any food, but there were plenty of options that are all affordable.
I don’t know how often I’ll be in this area, but if I were to need a spot to work and hang out for a few hours, I would definitely come here and treat myself to multiple cups of coffee and some lunch.“

“We stayed in Bernal Heights for our 2-day SF trip and stopped in at Martha’s both days. “195 years ago a gentleman named Hansen Gregory was born in Rockport Maine. He was an ambitious Scottish lad that took to the ocean to become a captain. He enjoyed fried dough cakes but didn't appreciate the undercooked greasy center that they often had. He is usually credited as the origin of ring shaped donuts by punching out the center with a pepper box lid. If Gregory was alive today he would be fascinated with how many wonderful and creative ways you can produce this circular delight. I may not be a captain of a ship but I am happy to make ML Donuts apart of my voyage!“

“The best bagel we’ve ever had.
Never expected this small place to be so amazing but it definitely is.
I had the lox one with avocado, it costed something like 15$ which is a totally decent price for what you get.
All the ingredients felt so fresh!“

“This place was such a surprise. It is very unassuming from the street, and the atmosphere is super casual diner. But the food was excellent and a good value. If you’re hungry you will be pleased with the generous portions—I’m a hungry big guy and I took some of the house combo to go because I couldn’t finish it. The quality is really solid.“

“Gateway Croissant is one of those rare spots that quietly becomes part of your life. Tucked within a short walk of the City, State, and Federal buildings and a short walk from BART. It’s the perfect stop for anyone commuting into Civic Center.
For the last two years, any day I’m heading into the City, I have to swing by for a cruller or an apple fritter. At this point, it’s a ritual.
What keeps me coming back isn’t just the pastries (though the cruller is dangerously good). It’s the people. Everyone here is genuinely kind and appreciative, the kind of staff who make you feel like your stop actually matters to them. In a busy part of San Francisco, that warmth stands out.
There’s something special about grabbing a fresh donut and taking a slow walk around the Civic Center, watching the morning unfold, the buildings light up, and the city wake around you. Highly recommend picking up a treat and enjoying a stroll through the plaza. It’s a small moment of calm that sets the tone for the whole day.
Gateway Croissant is simple, welcoming, and consistently excellent. A true neighborhood gem.“

“If you’re looking for a delicious bagel sandwich, and a hot cuppa coffee, look no further, this is your place. The ingredients were fresh, the coffee was on point, and the family who runs this are warm and friendly. The prices are also very fair, give how unreasonable some coffee shop prices are these days.“
“A story of three friends including one focused on how Food ties into social interaction and cultural understanding Wise Sons Jewish Delicatessen began in 2010, their expansion from The Mission flagship all the way down to Culver City thanks to “California-inspired Jewish deli food with roots in tradition and an eye on the future; for Jews who like food and food lovers who like Jews.” Founded by Evan Bloom, Ari Bloom and Leo Beckerman, each bringing unique skills to an operation focused on making nearly everything in-house, it was minutes after 9:00am on Christmas Day that the Deli on 24th Street was found quiet, the lack of queue seeing everything served within ten minutes at prices far below the Bay Area average. Using good ingredients, natural Beef Pastrami with complex spicing layered between real Jewish Rye just $15.50 with a Kosher Pickle, guests are also encouraged to order Matzo Ball Soup with a big Dumpling floating in Broth laced with Dill. No Babka on this morning, all of it committed to pre-orders, 72% Bittersweet Guittard Chocolate instead finds itself suspended in Cookies with flakes of Salt while Rugelach for $2 a bite is fairly basic considering the rest. Not forgetting a Bagel, well made with a good skin and plenty of chew, Cream Cheese comes complimentary just as good Butter, real Maple Syrup and Jam do with Challah French Toast cooked golden but still custardy in the middle.“

“Great items, nothing crazy fancy. Simple and basic. Usually doesn't take too long for your order to be ready but sometimes it does for whatever reason. Right by the bus stop so you can pick some up right before or after your commute. There's also a cafe inside the adjacent building on the first floor with the exact same stuff. One my favorite pairs is the Special #6 Bagel on a blueberry bagel and a chai latte.“

“I went on a Wednesday night and it was still busy! The vibes looked good but I wasn't going to wait for just myself so I ordered Togo. I got the little gem Caesar salad, vodka margherita pizza, and a cannoli! Honestly very pleasantly surprised with the flavors and textures of everything, I would say the only thing that was underwhelming was the cannoli honestly but with some chocolate glaze it's . Most unique pizza I've had a while and it's soo good it lasted for dinner and lunch the next day. Would definitely go again especially since for $50 you can easily eat comfortably for two!“
