“A “Must Stop” for lunch! The best sourdough bread I’ve ever had. Wanted to go back and just order a bunch of bread to take home and spoil the family. The perfect crispy crust and then soft chew center with lots of wonderful savory sourness. I had the Ham & Pastrami. Perfect fresh ingredients. Everything you want in a deli sandwich at a reasonable price. Lots of selections so I’m heading back for future yummy bites. Excellent personal service.“

They were a major fixture in early American car culture, being prominent along the early cross country highways, including The Mother Road, Route 66. The movie “Cars” and its sequels also contain some hidden references to Flying A if you know where to freeze frame.“

“We read Houston’s article in the Argus about Urban Deli and had to try it. It was everything he proclaimed. I tried the Mediterranean Platter and everything was delicious - the falafel were uniquely spiced and not too salty which mixes often are. My husband tried the chicken schwarma platter and the walnut baklava and enjoyed them both. The customer service was excellent. So excited to have this new deli downtown.“

I will say im not thrilled with the small cuts, but im thinking I got the wrong bags as most of the stack was the huge and wonderful meat sticks. “This place is a San Rafael classic. I grew up here ordering their pastrami on Dutch crunch and it’s still as delicious as ever. I went in recently and had a mix up with my order but the staff handled it quickly and efficiently with professionalism. 🥖 🥬 🍅“

I told the person there about the Pastrami sando I had the day before in San Anselmo, and how good it was. Well, they said they could top it, hot or cold, so I decided to go with cold this time, and it was Spectacular!
