“The food is exceptional. I’ve tried nyc chinese, florida, washington DC etc and this place was really good. The sesame chicken and pork dumplings stood out the most. We also tried the cucumber salad and that was something different but really good. I would definitely recommend giving this a shot for lunch or dinner. If I ever visit again this place will definitely get a 2nd visit from me.“
“Good food and plentiful. Only problem is that they put mushrooms in every dish. Only the wonton soup didn't have them, thankfully. For people that like mushrooms, this will be a plus but I hate them. Other than having to sort out all the mushrooms, everything was good. I do plan on eating at Peking Restaurant Place again but now I'll know to tell them to hold the mushrooms.“
“The food is amazing and the service is excellent! We had the sweet and sour chicken, the pork soup dumplings, and lamb potstickers. I would highly recommend any of these dishes, but also any others on the menu. Every dish he brought out to other tables had me wondering why I didn’t order that too!“
“Best SHENJIAN Bao in SF! Any dish that is traditionally Shanghai is the same as what I got in Shanghai. Yes the Xiaolong Bao is not that beautiful, but the ones I eat day-to-day in Shanghai were just like that! Yes SHENJIAN Bao should have thick skin. The melon clay pot and rice cake brings back memory instantly! I'd say reduce your expectations on service, as it's just a mom and pop shop. It is authentic food. A gem in SF when most Chinese restaurants are Cantonese.“
“This place offers a wide variety of dumplings, including rarer finds like fantuan, and other hot dishes at affordable prices in a conveniently located area of Sunset. The interior is small with only a few tables, but it's a cozy spot to enjoy a meal or pop in for takeout. They accept credit card but charge a 4% fee for dine-in, which is understandable. I'm really happy I found this spot and will probably return often.“
