“A gem on Irving Street, where the competition for good Chinese is fierce, this restaurant stands out. Amazing Chongqing xiao mian, fresh in every possible way. Clean but homey atmosphere, with an employee taking advantage of the lull to trim green beans on a free table. Great value as well. Already making plans to go back with a fellow lover of spicy cuisine.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian Dan Dan noodles“

“Updated review after giving it a second try: this place is really good at providing a tasty, spicy, enjoyable noodle with a garlicky hint; some great meat options. Tried chicken and pork MoMo Noodles, and I would highly recommend (pork being 1a, chicken being 1b - it's pretty close).“

“Went here for lunch. The place is quaint, unassuming, and if it weren't for the awning and sign above it, it'd be easy to miss. The menu is huge with a big selection of quite interesting dishes based on different meats: beef, lamb, pork, fish and other seafood, as well as vegetarian options. Service was good with complimentary hot tea. Had the mango beef as well as some dumplings and pot stickers; the appetizers were good, and the mango beef was excellent. I went here around noon, but the place was nearly empty with only one other table being occupied. Good variety of condiments at the table as well: salt, garlic powder, vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil; however, the jars were all quite sticky to the touch and this sticks to your fingers.“

“Tang bar is a grab in a bowl to add to your dish kind of food establishment. You grab ingredients, and they charge by the pound prior to adding it to a soup base or stir fry. I've only ever gotten the soup base, though, and have tried a few different flavors from their spicest to their most mild, and I've enjoyed them all. The ingredients all feel fresh, and every broth is extremely flavorful.I would give this place close to 5 stars every time. However, on my last visit with a few friends and my significant other, Tang bar somehow mixed our two ingredients bowls up.I got the spicest flavor broth, and my friends got the pickled mild spice. The only remedy Tang Bar did was to drain the soup and place the ingredients in the original soup base. This caused my friends ingredients to be too spicy for them to eat, and my veggies were wilted and meat too chewy because of the double boiling of the ingredients. This also caused us to have to wait even longer for our food, up to about another 20 to 25 minutes.Other than that mess up, it would be 5 stars all around the board, but because of this slip up, I would give Tang bar closer to 4.5 stars rounded down due to Google rating system.Vegetarian options: Pick your own ingredients, so it's easy to choose all vegetarian options.Parking: Parking lot is shared between all of Stonestown Mall parking, so depending on when you go and how far you want to walk will determine if there is parking or not.“

“Ordered the GuiLin Noodles which is one of the only non-spicy options. The noodles were amazing and perfectly textured and the beef came right off the giant bone they gave. The taste was amazing and very tender. The soup was also really good but just a tad bit salty. The staff was very friendly as well. The only thing bad is that when I went to the back to use the restroom, I saw flies around the tub of noodles they had.“

“谢谢!Super yummy made fresh to order veggie dim sum options in the heart of Chinatown, veggie grub round here is far and few but this is worth a stop. I hauled the Vegetable and Shiitake Mushroom Bao's whilst on the move, great flavor but slightly pricey comparing to other joints in the area. It's certainly one of my new local go-to's, this place is a must as it offers incredible actual traditional Chinese treats at a great price.Support local businesses!“

“This was fantastic, possibly the best Szechuan I’ve ever eaten. The spice levels are no joke, but the flavors nonetheless are really deep and complex.Favorite dish was the beef on special chili sauce. If you eat beef and can handle seriously spicy food, that’s a must-try. The pan-fried chicken was really good, too, but I think next time I’d get the deep-fried version (Chongqing style). The one dish that didn’t impress was the twice-cooked pork. Flavors were okay, but the quality of the meat wasn’t so great, and pork belly with that high amount of fat would be much better if it were crispier.Still, amazing meal, and lots of stuff that on the menu that I look forward to trying next time!“

“The restaurant is simple and clean. We ordered a lot of dishes. They were all good. For me, the best dish was Suan Cai Yu . It was a resplendent dish full of delicious tender fish slices, delicately pickled mustard greens, and crunchy sprouts, all immersed in a most tangy savory soup. This dish stimulated our appetite. It was perfect to eat with rice. Both of us were very satisfied with the food and the reasonable prices, and we had to get takeout boxes because there was so much food. I‘ll return again.“

Spicy Noodle with Pork

“I got the spicy noodles with tofu and chicken. The food was overall good, but everything was drenched in sauce, there wasn’t anything to cut into the oily sauce, so I could only eat so much. The texture was also one note, I wish there were crunchy elements in this dish, it’s supposed to have peanuts but I found only a couple pieces. I would suggest maybe adding bokchoy and more crunch toppings.“

“Reserved one of the big karaoke rooms for a birthday and we were seated in the upstairs room. Drinks and sauce bar were available downstairs. Decent hotpot with all of the staples, ayce menu also came with a selection of appetizers/hot food which were also good. Since we were a larger group I liked that they gave huge portions of meat and veggies whenever we placed an order. Since we were in one of the rooms upstairs we did feel a little disconnected from the rest of the restaurant, which is good when you want to sing out, but it was sometimes hard to get our orders in. I do wish they checked on a us a few more times or had one of the bells they have at kbbq so we could signal when we were ready to order.“

“Love this place!! Been going since they were called “Wing lum”, I believe they’re under the same management, even though the name has changed the food has not in my opinion. This is some of the best Chinese food you can get on the outskirts of the tenderloin/downtown neighborhoods. The chowmein, chowfun & Honey walnut prawns are my personal favorites, packed with flavor, loaded with goodies & meat! I love when you don’t even have to think about adding soy sauce because the flavors are so on point .Parking: I’ve always gone on foot as I live pretty close, however there’s always been a sign in front, stating that they do offer parking somewhere in the back of the restaurant.“

“Happy to have vegan option in Union Square. Good service, very quick. I ordered flaming spicy tofu. It was not what I would consider flaming spicy ha! But it was fine. I enjoyed the crisp water chestnut. The meal was too big I could not finish it. I had to pay extra for rice. The plate seemed a bit overpriced to me. Gorgeous building and location, and lamp.“
