“The food is SO good. My husband had the crepe sarrasine with lamb sausage and he instantly fell in love. I had the chicken shawarma and added caramelized onions. Everything about it was so flavorful. We decided to top it off with the lemon crepe - I think I died and went to heaven. If we lived closer, I would probably need an intervention. The outside seating was clean and quaint and the service was great. When we come back to the city, I will definitely be stopping in again!“
“My favorite place for dessert in San Francisco. I love these crepes so much! The staff are so friendly and have creative hands/minds. The crepes are always made fresh and topped with fresh delicious fruit and ice cream. Yum yum!Vegetarian options: Delicious!“
“The first thing I noticed about this place when I walked in was how warm and toasty it was, which I very much appreciated since it was cold and windy outside. It made indulging in gelato a pleasant experience regardless of the weather.I sampled the vegan passion fruit gelato and then ordered a scoop of it in a small waffle cone. I wanted the vegan vainilla to pair with the passion fruit, but the staff informed me it was mislabeled and unfortunately wasn't vegan. I didn't have any lactase tablets on me, so I stuck with the safe option. There's not much seating inside because it's a small establishment, but eventually, a couple of tall chairs at the window bar opened up. This place is super cute and cozy and conveniently located next to several restaurants and stores. It's a great place to stop by for dessert!“
“Just discovered this gem! A quaint, rustic hole-in-the-wall, cash only, best crepes in the city with super unique flavor combinations you don't see anywhere else. This one man operation is not for the impatient or those in a rush, but it's worth the wait. You don't find many places like this anymore, and I'm so glad to have been introduced to Higher Grounds - we'll be back!“
“The crepe house has become my go-to breakfast spot! You can never go wrong with one of their delicious crepes. My favorite is the breakfast crepe, which I order 2-3 times a week. The incredible taste and large portion sizes keep me coming back.“
“Creperie Saint Germain had served crepes for us at our company and it was such a success. They had a lot of options for me which is not usually the case since I have gluten-free restricted diet. Their crepes are awesome, the crepe bar was a great idea to have in the office. And the holiday theme was looking awesome.“
“Chez Maman EastHospitality - 4/5Selection - 4/5Quality of Food - 4/5Overall - 4/5Had a quick round table in the city, and asked the local’s where a great spot was for a nice meal. Chez Maman East was the answer and they did not disappoint. My colleague and I were welcomed in and seated right away. It was early, so they weren’t too busy. The waiter was quick to serve us and was very informative. Even suggested a few items they were known for. My colleague took his suggestion and got the Sole. He was very happy he took the suggestion. It was cooked beautifully and had great flavor. To the point he licked the plate clean!I chose the bell pepper soup and their famous burger. The soup was delightful and fit perfect on this rainy day. The burger was everything everyone had told me. The burger was cooked correctly, juicy, and tender. The add-ons were just icing on the cake.If we were to suggest anything to the restaurant to improve on, it would be have fresh bread. The baguette we ordered was dry and like chewing leather. Went great with the soup, but by itself was not enjoyable.Overall, we would return to try the rest of the menu.Parking: Just your standard street parking. Might have to walk a little once you park.“
“Randomly found this shop, the crepes are really yummy, they are still warm and they are crispy. I was here for visiting, and got crepes from this shop everyday. Now I left the city, I have been missing this crepe shop everyday. Definitely will comeback.“
“was walking by so I thought I would grab a Mocha and it was really good and the price was reasonable. Only $4.75! Can't beat that. Considering down the street it's like 6.50 for a mocha.Vegetarian options: Limited to like vegetarian sandwiches but they do have lots of breakfast options like waffles and crepesKid-friendliness: They have a cage You can lock your kids up and enjoy your meal ?“
“This is my favorite cafe near my house. The service here is amazing and the staff are so kind. Great atmosphere for getting some work done and having a solitary breakfast (or going with friends but I’m always alone here). I will keep coming and supporting before other cafes because this has a nostalgic and cozy vibe I can’t find anywhere else.“
“I live in a nearby neighborhood, and whenever I’m having a bad day I like to come here as a treat to pick myself up. Not only is the food great, the people who work here are very kind and very friendly. I feel very grateful for this cafe, and I recommend either coming here with friends or bringing a book and having yourself a nice meal in a great atmosphere.“
“I wanted to grab pork buns at another highly rated bakery close by but the line was outrageous so I ended up stumbling into this place instead. It is a small shop lined with cases of different styles of baked breads. I grabbed many different types of individually packaged breads and in the front is a nice selection of cakes so I also got a slice of blueberry cake. Everything was delicious but my favorite was the cake. I regret not getting more types of cake slices. This place is great and no lines at all on a Saturday afternoon. I will definitely be back!“
“This is a regular go-to spot for me and my husband. We like the cucumber salad, beef noodle soup, fish and chive dumpling soup, and onion pancake. The owner is always so sweet and attentive. I’m thankful to have this yummy family-owned spot in the neighborhood!“
“This charming little cafe is a new favorite. Chester is an absolute lovely person and I enjoyed chatting with him while he made my breakfast. I like to get the French Melt and the Mexican Latte. Coming here is a little treat on Laundry Day! Definitely recommend this spot for a quick bite and a nice chat with Chester. Support local business and don't forget to tip your service peeps!“
“What a pleasure to be able to take a tasty break in this place! There we met two extremely kind and attentive employees with whom I was able to talk about their country and who showed very delicate attention to us! in addition to very good quality products, we were able to appreciate an extraordinary sense of hospitality! Well done ! We will come back with great pleasure!Kid-friendliness: yes obviously with excellent products“
“I really enjoyed this place. The food portions were huge. The potatoes were the perfect amount of crispy. The beer was tasty. The staff was very kind. The bathroom needed attention but otherwise every was really great. One of the staff members brought my husband's backpack to us when he forgot it on the chair after we left. Thank you! Next time we're in town we'll be back to try other items on the menu. Highly recommend.“
“A nice little breakfast restaurant in San Francisco. Usually a little crowded and loud in the mornings. The food is decent, we had a breakfast burrito, eggs Benedict and French toast. The French toast was awesome. The house coffee unexceptional.Kid-friendliness: Nothing special for kids.“
“Today was the best jianbing I've had maybe anywhere ever. Not sure how it compares to Tianjin style, but it struck all the Beijing notes and even surpassed with a world-class pastry texture in both the wrapper and the crispy part. The optional duck was maybe not authentic (?? never seen it in BJ), but it enhanced the flavors perfectly. Hadn't been to this spot in a while and this was better than I remember it, so compliments to the lady making them today. Also just wanna note the Hutong Jianbing franchise is not a guarantor of quality. Had the one in eCafe or whatever it's called near the airport Costco a few weeks back and it almost made me never want to eat jianbing again, it was so bad. So come to Happy Cow!“
“Fantastic crepes and so reasonable! My son got dark chocolate and fresh strawberry, complete with whipped cream and powdered sugar. I got fresh strawberries, lemon, & sugar. Amazing! The owner was so kind and friendly. Nice little gem in the heart of North Beach“
“Amazing food, decor. Try the fancy French toast. Amazing. Wish the portion was larger tho ? my only issue is some of the staff's attitudes. They seem to be unhappy to be there and just not friendly or upbeat. I wish they were as nice to me there as they are at blue barn ):“
“What can I say, except yum yum yum. I got their crema con fresas (a complex strawberries and cream. It uses sour cream with evaporated and condensed milk which gives it a slight tang and is utterly addictive), and mangonadas. I liked the mangonadas slightly less because they used shaved ice that was quite coarse, but the flavor was on point“
“Satisfying counter service cafe with slightly elevated diner style cuisine. For example, the breads are nicer than you'd get at a diner but the potatoes are the same. They offer a hearty portion of smoked salmon in the $18 scramble, but it's not a particularly fluffy scramble and it might actually feature 2 eggs instead of 3. The crepe gets the job done, but for $12 it'd be hard to justify as a daily driver. Diamond cafe serves whole milk.“
“A cute little spot with good food. Eggs Benedict was very good, eggs cooked perfectly. Hash browns reminded me of those of a diner and were good. I took off 1 ⭐️ because I ordered a coffee and it sat waiting to be brought to my table until I got up and asked for it after 10 minutes of waiting.“
“I got the crab cake sandwich and honestly it was very very good. I didn't realize they would be fried, but they were so good tasting that it's calling me back. I had always walked by this place and always heard about it, but never really eaten here. The server is super friendly, parking isn't that great, and prices for a very nice coffee shop, just a tad more expensive then if you went somewhere else along the peninsula. San Francisco is always more expensive than eating anywhere else.Parking: And remember if you're in San Francisco you're also paying for parking even if it's metered... And that adds two to four bucks more to your bill.“
“To be fair, I had some of the best funnel cake fries I've possibly ever had here. However the system is so confusing when ordering, and the staff aren't really helpful.Anyway, super tasty, crispy, sugary - a must. Their crepes looked amazing but I was in the mood for these! Think they were $9 tax inclusive.“
“For the Latin community: This place is 10 out of 10, super delicious, the price is right, the staff is Latin, friendly and speaks Spanish, their crepes are delicious, I ordered one with banana and strawberries with dulce de leche, I ordered another with ham and egg and cheddar cheese, and the third was strawberry, banana, nutella and walnut 100% percent recommended!! You arrive, order and pay then they call you when your order is ready, you pick it up and that's it, enjoy!!“
“This is from their new location on Center Street in Berkeley! The guys running the shop are so sweet! 10/10!!! It was very yummy, and the location is very cute for a date or dessert after dinner since it's around a bunch of restaurants.“
