“Every time we come to San Francisco they are the first place we have dinner. The funny thing is that the same two seats at the bar are open that we sat the first time lol. Great food! Great staff! Professional and just great guys behind that bar.“

“This past Saturday I decided to check out this place with my friends after the game. They have a variety of drink selections and a decent food menu options, including some vegetarian-friendly dishes. Service was 10/10! The girl who was helping us was friendly and patient with my friend, when she was struggling because of her English. All of us had a great time here. Glad we decided to give this place a try and will return!
Inner Richmond is not the most difficult neighborhood to find parking for in the city, but it can still be a hit or miss. Recommend people to just Lyft/Uber/Waymo.“

“What a fantastic spot in the financial district! We were staying in town for a wedding, and this was such a great spot close to our hotel. Patrick (the owner) and his team were all a 10/10! Can’t wait to return.“

“My family and I came in not knowing what to expect honestly and it ended up exceeding our expectations! Jesus was very helpful and patient. He was very kind and attentive. The food was amazing! It was my first time trying German dishes. I tried the meatballs with potatoes. 10/10!! I definitely recommend to anyone who is visiting the area.“

“So… this is sort of an SF institution for beer in SF, having had craft beers now for a tad longer than some of the more trendy, upscale bars and pubs that seem to come and go now all too frequently. Basically, if you call yourself knowledgeable about SF bars and haven't hung out here a few times you ain't nuthin. Having been around a lot longer than a lot of now hipper places, The Sycamore promises a concentrated evening of beer or boozing in the evenings, while the back (and now Covid street!) patios can be packed, particularly when the sun is out and/or the nights are warm. The ambience and vibe is that of a local place to come drink, the bartenders and owners generally know their stuff, keeping an eye on the neighborhood and the guests in the manner which they deserve. In general, the Sycamore can be an excellent refuge from the cold, a place to cogitate the meaning of it all alone , or to go with a small to large group of friends who want a tight grungy night out. Coat-tails and gowns are a rarity here, so much so that I have vowed that are some point in my life that I'm going to get dressed to the nines and hang out there for several hours… just to see if I get a stern eye from the bar! 🤨🫠🤨😇🤨🤭“

“I was looking for a nice spot nearby for dinner, and this one caught my eye.
The food was great, but the service was a bit slower than I’d hoped, especially since it was so empty that day. I can see why. Still recommended place to go.“

“Dingles Public House shares a building with a hotel, right under the Inn at the Opera awning. They opened the doors promptly at 5:00 PM, and right from the start, all of the employees we encountered were incredibly friendly. Our waiter did a great job keeping up with the table, providing timely water refills and regular check-ins throughout the night. The restaurant interior definitely has a cozy British pub feel to it, styled with darker colors and very low lighting that sets a relaxed mood. The background music added a fun touch, featuring an 80s pop and rock soundtrack with songs like Little Lies, Girls on Film, Bette Davis Eyes, and Let's Dance.
The food started off strong with the bread and butter. The bread itself was very good with a great crust, though the butter was a bit different than expected. They mix it with an ingredient that changes both its color and flavor, and while it was pretty good, we ultimately would have preferred regular butter. The classic pub snacks hit the mark perfectly. The fries were excellent with a great crunch, easily some of the best I have had in a long time. The scotch egg was also very tasty and well assembled, featuring a perfect outer crunch and great sausage flavor and texture.
For the main courses, the beef wellington was very good. It featured a very tender cut of beef with great flavor and texture, all served alongside a nice gravy and good mashed potatoes. The fish and chips were another major highlight. You get two nice, thick chunks of fish perfectly fried in a super crunchy shell. I really loved that the dish was mostly fish rather than a thick, greasy coating. It came with good accompaniments, including mushy peas that were tasty enough that I actually ate them, and a great curry sauce that was perfect for dipping the fries. The fries again stood out for their excellent crunch; I am not sure if they double-fry them or not, but they are great.
To finish the meal, the sticky toffee pudding was pretty good, though it had a few areas that could be tweaked. One of the spice flavors in the sauce was a bit strong, tasting almost like gingerbread, and the actual pudding cake could have been a bit firmer. The ice cream was also served a bit too hard, which ended up breaking apart the dessert when we tried to press down on it to get a bit on the spoon. Overall, it is an enjoyable place to have dinner with a great pub vibe, making it a fantastic choice for anyone looking for seafood, steak, or a classic bar in the San Francisco Civic Center and Hayes Valley neighborhood.“
