“Great wine, food and atmosphere. One salad is more than enough for two people. We got the Retsina wine which was off the hook, soft, velvety and delicious. We got the soup which was reminiscent of Tom Kha in a way and also delicious. Greek fries and lamb salad were also made just right and the food was brought out so quickly. The location is nice and romantic in a way. My wife and I enjoyed the experience very much. Thank you Souvla!“

“This was my first experience with frozen Greek yogurt and it tastes great! Lighter and more tart than normal soft serve. Ask them to go light on the salt and olive oil as it can be a bit too salty because of the big flakes of salt. Ended up with a bit puddle of olive oil at the bottom but didn't mind that as much since the oil was high quality and had a robust aromatic flavor. Highly recommend to try the frozen yogurt if you stop by.“

“We had dinner at Souvla three times during our stay in San Francisco because we loved it so much! The Freebird All-Natural Chicken Salad was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared every time. We also tried the Avgolemono Soup, which was warm, comforting, and very tasty. The food was always fresh and high quality.

The restaurant has a great vibe with a modern and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly, helpful, and provided excellent service during every visit. Souvla became one of our favorite places in San Francisco, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city!“

“This was the BEST Greek food I’ve ever had. The roast chicken was perfection, tender and full of flavour. The potatoes were exactly as described - JUICY. The spanakopita was the first time I’ve tried, I could eat those for days. And even the salad made my tastebuds smile.
The service was amazing too - thank you to the man who explained the menu really well and helped us choose the best options for us, while also being so kind and patient.
The food came out so quick and it was nice and comfortable inside. We would be here weekly if we lived in SF. Absolutely worth it, plus it’s not ridiculously expensive.“

Even though not too busy on a friday midday the food was fresh and more than filled me up for $15.

Had a minor issue that was resolved quickly and guys were super nice.

“We wanted a quick, healthy lunch. In our group, we had a dietary issue with fatty foods and a severe gluten allergy. The Cafe Elena team were wonderful. All our meals were really good. The lunch area was quiet with ample seating. We would eat there any time we were in the area.“

“Cute, cozy, and delicious Mediterranean restaurant on Polk! The food and service were top notch. Our water glasses were always full, tables wiped down between courses, and friendly service.

The mixed meze platter is my favorite to start with, you get a little bit of everything! I’m a sucker for fries and their fries are sooo good, I don’t suggest sharing! lol

The chicken thigh skewer and beyti are my favorite entrees!

Highly recommend for girls night or date night! There’s also bar seating if you need to pop in and grab a bite to eat alone.“

“The food was absolutely amazing, I specifically got the chicken gyro with light mustard and loved it. The ingredients were fresh, flavorful, and everything was cooked perfectly.
The man taking my order was incredibly pleasant as well, asking me about my trip and how I was doing that day!
Music being a touch too loud would be my only very minimal complaint.“

“Our work just got us this pizza for lunch after a bike ride and I have to say as a square pizza lover; it was amazing. Not greasy, fresh ingredients even being delivered and amazing cheesy-crust edges. 5 stars pizza for sure. Btw the staff was able to accommodate a pizza for 35 people with very little notice. Sadly I ate it all before taking a pic!“

“I smelled it before I got there no always looking for “the right food cooked by the right people!” I had a bowl with chicken which I could cut with a the plastic spoon 😍 with rice and lentils very flavorful too with the Israel salad all that flavor in one bowl was the best by far! My friend who’s vegan was very satisfied had a falafel bowl which she started eating as we walked down the street! She had smashed it by the time we made to the tables at Union Square. The food delicious the portions huge and the price right! On another note when we arrived they were out of rice and of course they made me some fresh very much appreciated ❤️“
