“Monday night went to dinner with 5 friends. It was our second time at the restaurant. We ate there in March. The waiter and bartender remembered us and welcomed us back. I had the Lamb chops they were delicious. Cooked to perfection came with an asparagus risotto and roasted sweet potatoes. Fantastic. Great cocktails. We have eaten at almost every steakhouse in San Francisco. This to me probably number one. The Manhattan I had was definitely the best I ever had and I have been a bartender for 48 plus years. This is my first ever review I have ever written. Our group eats at many restaurants. Each person gets to take turns picking the restaurant. Not often do all of us have no complaints about the food. I will be back.“

“Loved the halloumi for starters with fruits to balance the saltiness. The feast for 2 was definitely more than enough for me and my friend, a good option to sample all their meats. I liked the chicken and shrimp the most. The side of rice was surprisingly tasty too and not just plain rice. Staff and service is topnotch and very attentive. The ambiance is very nice. Price is reasonable for what you’re getting. Street parking only but there’s a free parking lot across the street near Safeway. Will definitely come back to try other dishes!“

“Nick the Greek is always a spot that's fairly consistent across all of their locations (at least the ones I've been to). It was nice to be greeted when I walked in and the cashier had welcomed me in with a smile. It's been a while since someone welcomed me or my friends into a restaurant with a smile, so this was appreciated. This location also had plenty of seats and since I went during lunch, I could really sit anywhere.“

“Great lunch spot! Oakland has lost so many Greek restaurants lately I was happy to find this spot. Open only weekdays for lunch the menu is solid but not overwhelming. Lamb/ beef gyro was tasty as was the side dish-we tried the fries and the salad.. Service was excellent and food was cooked fresh and quickly! Dining area has nice light and good amount of space. We will definitely be back!“

“Finally ate here and the food is really quite good. Mezze platter was delicious and I was able to get gluten free pita! They also have a lot of vegetarian options, many featuring impossible meat. So I had the Impossible wrap and it’s really well spiced, very tasty and huge! Leftovers! The only disappointment was the spanakopita which was very bland and didn’t seem to have any feta in it. My mom was very disappointed. They offered to remake it which was very nice. We’ll be back!“

“I give the highest caterer recommendation to Ikaros To Go (catering by the team that ran Ikaros restaurant). They planned and managed a very delicious memorial dinner for us for approximately 75 guests. The customer service and food were excellent - our menu included roasted salmon, vegetarian mousaka, rice, Greek salad and garlic bread, plus dessert of Baklava and sugar cookies which everyone also loved. They also handled dinnerware, water, lots of set up and clean up, soft drinks and pretty bottled Greek waters for the tables. They were extremely considerate, thoughtful, flexible, organized and reliable. Ikaros to Go went above and beyond and made our event very special. We are very grateful - Thank you Ikaros to Go!“

“This is one of the only, if not THE only, fresh and healthy food option in walking distance from my house. The food leaves you feeling nourished and full. The portions are great for the price in this economy. The dining area and self service drink stations are always immaculately clean. Additionally, the staff and manager here really go above and beyond with their warm hospitality. Today I called ahead to ask about their produce suppliers as I have anxiety about cyclospora, and they were so quick to be transparent with this helpful information. Something else sweet that I’ve noticed is the way the greet, acknowledge, and engage with children. This is truly a family friendly spot with something for everyone.“

“I love it because it's more then just grocery & grill. I consider it to be or it should be called "Multi convenience." Or maybe even "Some of this & Some of that!" would also be a good name. It's a small store, but most of the time they still have just what you need. The owner is cool too. He gives great customer service as well. Try this store or“

“If you love thick pizza, Detroit style pizza from 8MilePi is the way to go! So cheesy and filled with toppings. Smog pizza is my fav. There’s multiple locations so it’s convenient to satisfy my pizza cravings. They also have yummy wings and a packed chopped salad if you want other options. Their pizzas are huge and are so filling for lunch or dinner.“

“I don't remember how many times i've been here lol. Whenever I was too lazy to prepare lunch for myself, I usually bought gyro in this place and then went back to my lab/class. The price is affordable for Berkeley Standard (i remember it was around 12 usd before tax).

This place was also in UC berkeley north gate before, so it was close to my building. Then the one in north gate was closed. However I didn't mind to go back and forth from my lab to this place in southgate, my lazy ass didn't mind to go downhill then uphill lol.
And yeah, this place also offers halal food, so that's a plus“
