“Finally ate here and the food is really quite good. Mezze platter was delicious and I was able to get gluten free pita! They also have a lot of vegetarian options, many featuring impossible meat. So I had the Impossible wrap and it’s really well spiced, very tasty and huge! Leftovers! The only disappointment was the spanakopita which was very bland and didn’t seem to have any feta in it. My mom was very disappointed. They offered to remake it which was very nice. We’ll be back!“

“I don't remember how many times i've been here lol. Whenever I was too lazy to prepare lunch for myself, I usually bought gyro in this place and then went back to my lab/class. The price is affordable for Berkeley Standard (i remember it was around 12 usd before tax).

This place was also in UC berkeley north gate before, so it was close to my building. Then the one in north gate was closed. However I didn't mind to go back and forth from my lab to this place in southgate, my lazy ass didn't mind to go downhill then uphill lol.
And yeah, this place also offers halal food, so that's a plus“

“We are in San Francisco for the weekend and The Parthenon is steps from our hotel. We did make reservations (advised) as they were very busy on a Friday night. It is noisy but in a high energy way -lots of happy diners chatting away. The service was excellent and the food was delicious authentic Greek/Mediterranean. They had our favorite wines by the glass too. Our only “complaint “ would be that the food comes out so fast it really isn't a dining experience. Could have used a bit more time to enjoy. But they did need to turn over the tables“

“Loved the halloumi for starters with fruits to balance the saltiness. The feast for 2 was definitely more than enough for me and my friend, a good option to sample all their meats. I liked the chicken and shrimp the most. The side of rice was surprisingly tasty too and not just plain rice. Staff and service is topnotch and very attentive. The ambiance is very nice. Price is reasonable for what you’re getting. Street parking only but there’s a free parking lot across the street near Safeway. Will definitely come back to try other dishes!“

“I love Nick the Greek! My go-to order is the Nick Fries and the Chicken Gyro Pita — there’s just something about the flavor that always hits the spot. It’s seasoned perfectly and consistently delicious every time.

I’ll even DoorDash it to my house when I’m craving it, but when I’m in the area, I like stopping by to eat inside. The restaurant is always clean, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the service is fast and efficient.

Highly recommend coming here and trying their menu — you really can’t go wrong!“

“I give the highest caterer recommendation to Ikaros To Go (catering by the team that ran Ikaros restaurant). They planned and managed a very delicious memorial dinner for us for approximately 75 guests. The customer service and food were excellent - our menu included roasted salmon, vegetarian mousaka, rice, Greek salad and garlic bread, plus dessert of Baklava and sugar cookies which everyone also loved. They also handled dinnerware, water, lots of set up and clean up, soft drinks and pretty bottled Greek waters for the tables. They were extremely considerate, thoughtful, flexible, organized and reliable. Ikaros to Go went above and beyond and made our event very special. We are very grateful - Thank you Ikaros to Go!“

“Monday night went to dinner with 5 friends. It was our second time at the restaurant. We ate there in March. The waiter and bartender remembered us and welcomed us back. I had the Lamb chops they were delicious. Cooked to perfection came with an asparagus risotto and roasted sweet potatoes. Fantastic. Great cocktails. We have eaten at almost every steakhouse in San Francisco. This to me probably number one. The Manhattan I had was definitely the best I ever had and I have been a bartender for 48 plus years. This is my first ever review I have ever written. Our group eats at many restaurants. Each person gets to take turns picking the restaurant. Not often do all of us have no complaints about the food. I will be back.“

“Great lunch spot! Oakland has lost so many Greek restaurants lately I was happy to find this spot. Open only weekdays for lunch the menu is solid but not overwhelming. Lamb/ beef gyro was tasty as was the side dish-we tried the fries and the salad.. Service was excellent and food was cooked fresh and quickly! Dining area has nice light and good amount of space. We will definitely be back!“

Even though not too busy on a friday midday the food was fresh and more than filled me up for $15.

Had a minor issue that was resolved quickly and guys were super nice.

The atmosphere at the parklet setup was good too.

Ever since my time overseas in Europe I try and grab a gyro a few times a year and was excited this was around the corner from me here! “I smelled it before I got there no always looking for “the right food cooked by the right people!” I had a bowl with chicken which I could cut with a the plastic spoon 😍 with rice and lentils very flavorful too with the Israel salad all that flavor in one bowl was the best by far! My friend who’s vegan was very satisfied had a falafel bowl which she started eating as we walked down the street! She had smashed it by the time we made to the tables at Union Square. The food delicious the portions huge and the price right! On another note when we arrived they were out of rice and of course they made me some fresh very much appreciated ❤️“

“Found their yellow truck at Valencia Live and they did not disappoint. The Gyro Salad was perfect. Gyro meat was tender and thickly carved, not cheap and thin like other places. And the portion was generous. Every ingredient in the salad was remarkably fresh and delicious. Red onions were sweet and thin. It was loaded with Persian cukes, toms, shredded carrot; it wasn’t mainly lettuce with a few token veggies thrown in. Great homemade dressing. They are not skimpy here. Came with sliced pepperoncini, 2 tzatziki cups, and a lemon wedge, which makes sense with lamb, but a lot of gyro places overlook it. Ask for a side of hot sauce, it’s good, complex, unique, maybe homemade. And even the pita bread was soft, hot, and fresh. This $16 salad was correctly priced, worth every nickel.“
