“Good Greek food and nice friendly help. This is one of those places where you go and order from the menu above the kitchen or do take out. It's not a destination restaurant for a special event but a solid choice for good quick foodKid-friendliness: Perfect place to take kids, especially young ones. Easy cleanup and I don't think many people would care if the kids are acting a little rowdy.“
“Thanks to yelpers and their honest reviews...I was looking for take away for the hubs at home. We discovered Cobani Gyrl & Kebab! A cute shop in an older part of San Mateo. Staff was friendly and took my order. I ordered mixed grill plate, dulma, and baklava - a little over 45 bucks w/ tip. Brought it home and husband enjoyed. Stated the dolma freshly made and grilled plate nicely seasoned and well cooked, not tough. We may check them out another time and dine in if we're ever back in the neighborhood. efcharistó!“
“Great food and service! We went with some friends and the owners gave us samples of their delicious dips with pita bread. The spitfire chicken salad bowl was delicious. We had kalamari steaks and falafel too. Very delicious. We will definitely be back. Reasonably priced good food.“
“The best way to cap off a not do fun day of travel was dinner with these three! Even with the changing meet up times, they were all gracious and flexible enough to make it happen and I couldn’t have been happier to break bread with one of my oldest friends, aka The Captain, his wife, and one of the earliest friends I made in the Chicagoland area…and it didn’t hurt that the food was amazing! I’d probably walked past this place several times during my previous visits to Burlingame but never eaten there…my loss!“
“Oh wow! This place was great. The gentlemen works were very helpful, considerate, and polite. Seemed like they really appreciated my business and enjoyed sharing their food with me. On top of that.. Food was delish! Establishment was clean. Very impressed and much appreciated.“
“How have I not tried this place yet??? Went there for lunch with a friend on Monday. I love Greek food and always up to try a new spot. Pylos was wonderful! For lunch I had the seafood souvlaki which was delicious. Nice big shrimp and pieces of salmon in a warm, fresh pita with just the right amount of tzatziki sauce. Comes with a salad and they were kind enough to out the dressing on the side. My friend had one of the gyro wraps and she loved it. They also have Greek French fries which I have heard are amazing. Unfortunately, my current eating plan does not include them but there is always a next time! Service was very friendly and prompt. They have a nice inside restaurant and a great outside setup with heat lamps. Yay! Hubby loves Greek too so we will definitely be back (I'm going to steal his fries ).“
“Vegetarian / vegan wrap perfect for Good Friday. The Turkish double espresso was delicious and not gross like the bitter American roasters. I got fries, but did not realize lentil soup is on the menu. Next time. Operated by family, doesn’t get better than that.Dietary restrictions: Halal“
“I was recommended to try a Mediterranean restaurant of a very similar name. Did not read carefully and ended up here. Was not disappointed at all. Friendly and quick service. Delicious food, good portions. We tried the dolmas, chicken gyro and lamb and beef gyro. Clean and bright space. Mother gave an A+ for clean bathroom. Worth a save for repeat visit!“
“My husband and I ordered Cigarette pastry for starters and Mediterranean combo for main course. It was filling for the two of us. And the service was very good too. We will be visiting again.Parking: We parked in front of the Burlingame High School and walked to the restaurant.“
“Came into Nick the Greek before a movie at the RWC Cinemark. I frequently get takeout from here and they nail it every single time. The food is even better in person; it comes out within minutes, and its piping hot. This gyro bowl was no different, coming with a healthy portion of beef/lamb on a bed of rice, accompanied with tomatoes, lettuce, and tatziki. The flavors worked together so well, with the sauce providing a rich creamy flavor that goes well with the slight saltiness of the beef/lamb. The lettuce provided a solid crunch, the rice was fluffy, and the tomatoes were crisp yet soft. Another thing I really enjoy about Nick the Greek is that the food is surprisingly light: after eating, I was full, but not stuffed. If you've in the mood for some high-quality, fast-casual Greek food, make sure to check this place out!“
“I recently dined at Hella, a Mediterranean gem, and was thoroughly impressed! The combo plate I ordered was delicious, offering a variety of flavors that were both authentic and perfectly seasoned. My sister enjoyed a tasty chicken gyro, which was juicy and flavorful. The highlight of our visit was the exceptional customer service, particularly from the manager who surprised us with complimentary rice pudding. It was a delightful treat that perfectly ended our meal. I highly recommend Hella for anyone looking to enjoy quality Mediterranean cuisine and outstanding service. A definite five-star experience!“
“Save room for dessert; you won't want to miss it! The baklava was a sweet symphony of layers, dripping with honey and nuts. The loukoumades were heavenly pillows of fried dough, drizzled with syrup and sprinkled with cinnamon. These desserts were the perfect sweet ending to an unforgettable Greek feast.“
“Delicious Greek food and quick service!I'm convinced that Nick the Greek never misses: I've been to this location twice and the Redwood City location multiple times, and the food is always fast, the employees are nice, and the service is always speedy. Nick the Greek is a restaurant group that really cares about quality.I ordered the lamb/beef gyro plate today, which I've never had before. It was ready within minutes, and came with a smorgasbord of food: lamb/beef, rice or fries (I chose rice), tatziki, tomatoes, onions, pita bread, and a side Greek salad (lettuce, olives, onions, tomatoes, and feta). I also got a side order of falafel to share my brother. The lamb/beef was warm and juicy and the rice was warm and fluffy. The tomatoes and onions added a sweet flavor that cut through the saltiness of the meat, and the tatziki was cooling and zesty. The pita bread acted as a nice palette cleanser in between bites of everything else on the plate. The Greek side salad was refreshing. The tomatoes were juicy, the lettuce was crisp and wet, and the feta and olives on top had great contrasting flavors (creamy and salty). I would get less onions next time, though, because their flavor was a bit overpowering.I barely even got to the falafel on account of how full I was from everything else, but the one piece I had was awesome: a crispy exterior and a warm, soft interior. If you're in downtown San Mateo, come and get some great Greek food at Nick the Greek!“
“Been here few times and we love the food. It's fresh. We had the bowl with rice and lamb with salad.service here is you can place order on the screen or at the counter. Busy during lunch time. They have indoor and outdoor seating which both good .“
“Hey! Just wanted to share that we tried Nick the Greek in Daly City, and it was amazing. The souvlaki plates and Gyro bowl were incredibly delicious. The staff is super friendly. It reminded me of the authentic taste from Greece. Check it out if you get a chance!“
“It's been a while since I've eaten here. I've forgotten how big their selection is and how good their food is. This family owned restaurant has been around since 1983, they must be doing something right! Their portions are big enough to feed an army. We walked in with an army, 10 hungry teens, 13 adults and a 10 year old. We ordered pizza, pasta and apps. Nothing beats carb loading on a cold Saturday night. They also offer lots of Mediterranean dishes in this Greek inspired restaurant.“
