“Fusion” omakase. Expensive but very well executed, everything we were served was delicious. I recommend sitting at the sushi bar to get the full experience, our chefs at tables 9 and 10 were fun and engaging throughout service. The sake omakase was underwhelming, but YMMV, our drinks server was busy as he was serving the entire joint, on a different night, it might have been better.
Great ambiance and staff is friendly. It’s definitely more trendy (they play upbeat music) than authentic. Unfortunately, we found the omakase to be underwhelming and overpriced. The flavors just weren’t unique, and I felt there was a lot of soy sauce to compensate. It’s fun to name your own omakase price, but at our middle of the range price of $159 a person we were not impressed. Fantastic date night experience. Definitely sit at the sushi bar, very fun to watch the chefs prep each piece. Every dish was beautifully plated. Fresh and balanced flavors. Nice modern twist to omakase. Appreciated the modern Japanese art, chic and intimate atmosphere.Robin was recommended by a good foodie friend from the Bay. I understand why she and all the foodie lists reference Robin. It’s a great place to eat and savor modern sushi when visiting the Bay.
