“Met up with a colleague to try this place for the first time. I was impressed with things and disappointed with others.
My reservation was for 4 ppl, had 2 last minute cancels, the restaurant kept my resy and the larger seating provided (nice).

The Food:
Chips & dip - includes a pomegranate guacamole that is so delicious. The salsa provided was too loose and slides off the chips.

Fusion Burger - my friend ordered w/o onions. Even though onions are not mentioned on the menu, grilled (not raw) onions were added to the burger.

Short Rib Tostada - Tasty, even with some parts being a little dried and tougher than I would have expected. Packed w/ flavor.

Market Veggies - I thought it would be a skewer (onions, bell peppers, and zucchini), instead it was a plate of the same veggies mentioned plus a bunch of mushrooms. I don't like mushrooms so I could only eat half of the plate which was tasty.

Pofaki Donut - Donut bread and filling were delicious, but the chocolate sauce was so loose that it dripped off the spoon like syrup, instead of a thick consistency of a chocolate drizzle.

Persian Greens w/ Saffron Chicken (To-Go) - I asked for the dressing on the side, but instead received it with the dressing underneath the salad in the to-go container (so the lettuce was soggy). Not much chicken is provided and it's a bit dry.

Suri Sour: A delicious and beautifully presented cocktail!

All in all, some of the food had a depth of flavor and was gorgeously plated, but there were plenty of small mishaps that knock a star off for me. I would recommend repeating specific requests to ensure the wait staff hears you so the kitchen does it correctly. Ultimately the staff were nice and I'd be willing to try this place again in the coming months.“

“Outstanding Persian cuisine in the heart of San Francisco!

Alborz Restaurant exceeded all expectations. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality that made us feel like honored guests. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between elegant and welcoming.

The food was absolutely incredible. Every dish was beautifully prepared with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors that transported us straight to Iran. The portions were generous, and the presentation was lovely.

Whether you’re familiar with Persian cuisine or trying it for the first time, the menu offers something wonderful for everyone.

The service was attentive without being intrusive, and our server was happy to offer recommendations and explain dishes we weren’t familiar with.“
