“I rarely eat in here, but when I do I enjoy the atmosphere and service. Much more frequently, I do take out, and it is always great. The ingredients taste fresh and perfectly seasoned, and it is always on time. HB is probably my favorite spot for take out in Oakland.“

“I got the smoothie, a side of steamed veggies and a tofu bowl and not only were all three clearly made with high quality, organic ingredients, but they were absolutely delicious. 10/10. But what impressed me even more than the food tonight was the thoughtfulness of the gentleman working. They closed at 11:30 pm (bless them for being the only vegan, organic food in the area open that late) and was cutting it close to get there before closing time. When I arrived 1 or 2 minutes after 11:30, I was worried that I had missed my opportunity and screwed up, but no - a thoughtful young man was literally standing in front of the restaurant with my order, waiting for me. He definitely didn’t have to do that - service is way above and beyond - 20/10! That wonderful young man saved me after I hadn’t eaten all day and couldn’t find anything vegan open late, I’m so grateful. <3
Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, and organic to boot!
Dietary restrictions: Tons of amazing gluten free, vegan, organic options.“

“Great dumpling restaurant, reminded me of going to dim sum, but with larger portions! They had a large selection marked with a green dot for Vegan. 💚
Absolutely loved the bean curd salad, the garlic noodles, the veggie bun, and the red bean pancake!
Super duper nice staff, took really good care of us!“

“5 stars for food, but giving 4 because historically their phone almost never rings properly, and their hostess told me last call was 9:45pm when I called earlier today but they actually close at 9 🤦🏻♀️ Their website also doesn’t work properly… so yeah amazing food but management could really use some work.
Favorites:
- Larp
- Pumpkin curry
- Pad ped pla cook (catfish)
- Rice ball salad
Everything, especially the vegetables, is literally cooked to perfection.“

“I've been a fan of Jackie's recipes on Instagram for a while, so was happy to finally have the chance to check out her restaurant.
I went on a Thursday afternoon for a late lunch and it was more crowded than expected! Most of the tables were taken, though there was still plenty of room on the counters. A good number of to-go orders too.
I decided to go for the Shaking Beef, which was ready pretty quickly. They prepare it right at the counter (similar to Sweetgreen or Mixt). I loved all the flavors and appreciated how fresh the ingredients were. One minor critique is that the beef was cubed and pretty well done when I went — not sliced / medium well, which is how it was shown in some of the images. It still tasted good, though not exactly what I expected.
Overall, I'd recommend this place for a nice casual lunch/dinner if you're in the mood for Asian-inspired sweetgreen but better 😆 will check it out again the next time I'm in town!“

“I was invited here by a friend. I've eaten at a lot of mediocre Nepalese places in the Bay Area and had low expectations. Basecamp blew me away. The food was overall delicious- fresh and interesting- and the service was genuinely friendly and on point. The decor is fun, dish ware festive and it was boisterous and full on a Saturday night at 8p. The samosa were solid- hot and not oily and came with a delicious fresh green sauce, a (Nepalese crepe) was very interesting but like a flat omlete, we got the veggie Momos on the recommendation of my friend who said they were the best ones, the shrimp chow mein was unexpected with firm noodles, lots of large shrimp and a dry spice, and lastly the Cashew Curry with chicken. The curry was outstanding- creamy, flavorful and unique. We mopped it up with the Tumeric Rice. If you've had some mediocre Nepalese dining experiences, I recommend you fix that with a meal at Basecamp.“

“My mom, my son and I went to Saluhall SF to have lunch. Tried checking out the different restaurants. Fortunately, we found Izzy & Wooks. Cheryl was very friendly and accommodating. We ordered Inay’s BBQ Chicken Bowl and The Manong Sandwich along with Calamansi for beverage. We all love the packaging. Very artistically done and the foods were all delectable. Quite interesting is the fact that they put bitter melon on the sandwich. My son loved it! Calamansi with mint was good, too. Chicken was yummy along with the kimchi. Cheryl even gave us complimentary lumpias for us to taste. That was so very kind of her. She was friendly and has great customer service. I recommend this restaurant to you, guys if you are in the area. Cheryl also said that they are intending to also have halo-halo in the future. We told her we will be back. For me: the foods, the customer service and the very friendly gesture are all perfect-5/5. Thank you, Cheryl. You are one of a kind! ( Sorry, no photos were taken. We wanted to eat the foods right away, lol.)“

“As visitors to San Fran we wanted to try Burmese food. We got the treasure box dinner for two and it was the stand out meal of the trip. A variety of wonderful flavors, in a classy environment with lively staff. The beef kebat, tea leaf salad, and fried tortilla bread were my favorites.“

“Freshroll is one of my favorite places to eat in Berkeley. For under $7, you get a HUGE Spring Roll with a bunch of fillings and your choice of meat (or no meat). $1 extra for avocado (worth it) and you can also get an extra side of sauce, but the roll does come with sauce. I cannot recommend the chicken enough. It is the only warm thing about the roll but it is highly seasoned and delicious. These folks get your food out insanely fast and I have been here MANY times and have always received consistent, fresh food.“

“A Chinese friend introduced to this place many, many years ago, rediscovered it recently. Been there a number of times since, food good, prices low. Contrary to some reviews, I do not find staff to be rude, in fact they are friendly and approachable, esp when you are return customer. Husband and wife run the place, they are there all the time, work hard, long hours to make a living. I would recommend to anyone looking for a family restaurant with authentic Chinese cuisine!“

“i went in for a quick, safe option (salmon rice ball).. Holy moly! Actually this is the best rice ball in the city I’ve tried thus far!! So gently flavored and made on the spot! It’s not an afterthought to offer rice balls, what a hidden gem… in the image you can see the difference between a grocery store rice ball & 2 one (and it’s a bit warm!!!!)“

“Solid Chinese yum, not the standard Chinese-American.
Popo Noodles, with rice-wine braised pork belly is savory, soy-based comfort; egg noodles cooked to still-chewy perfection, dressed for flavor but still dry. Pickled Bamboo Shoots add-on, a must, to cut through the light meat fat.
A good option when at Spark Social.“

“If you blink you will miss this place as you drive by. Nice neighborhood family run restuu. Generous portions on the take out. Food was fresh and well prepared. Fresh ingredients.
Pro tip: there is public parking just past the building before the traffic light. Makes it easy to get in and out.“

“On campus and easy eats. They’re quick and the food is good. The chicken is real rotisserie. I got the Japanese curry chicken and rice. Seating does get crowded with all the students around but is not impossible to find. You might just need to go outside“

“This is a hidden gem.. also incredibly fresh and so cheap. 3$ for veg rolls. The owner is not that friendly or warm at all and pretty annoying to interact with but I think that the quality of the food is so good that she is completely entitled to act that way. If I was the owner of an old sushi shop on Solano Ave I would most likely act that way too.“

“Had takeout order. The food is surprisingly delicious! As a health conscious person, the restaurant has many clean food options: lettuce wrap with shrimp, tofu, chicken, etc. Not too oily or heavily flavored unlike many other restaurant, but still brings out the best taste! Btw, the coconut pudding is sooo good if you want a little dessert but not too artificially sweet!“
