“LetsSweet Kitchen is a Hong Kong chaan Teng restaurant in San Francisco South the market neighborhood, across the street from the Porsche dealer. We were in the area and decided to give them a try. Highly rated at 4.9 on Google, 4.7 on Yelp.
The place is clean, Service, friendly and food solid. Prices are higher than Chinatown, of course. Parking is a lot easier here. If you're in the neighborhood and want some Hong Kong style Chinese food, this is a good bet. If you're intimidated by Chinatown, this is a great place to go.
Food Picks:
Brad beef brisket rice with four piece wonton ($22.99) is a special during lunch and includes a drink. Ample quantity and good wontons and sold braised brisket flavor. The Hong Kong milk tea was strong and not too sweet. 8.5/10
Black pepper pork chop and onion over rice ($16.85) had reasonable quantity and was cooked just fine. The sauce was on the peppery side. 8.5/10.
Overall - Very Good
Food - Good
Decor - Very Good
Service - Very Good

“Soba Ichi is my local place. Quirky, genial staff. The appetizer selection is off the chain. Try the tempura and buckwheat tea. Go early if you want to try the house-made noodles. Service is remarkably fast. Lovely choice of sake wines. You won't find better miso plates anywhere.“

“Taniku Izakaya is a great spot for skewers and a solid casual night out. I really liked the spicy scallop hand rolls and the takoyaki, and the food overall was worth the wait. It does get busy, and there was a line since reservations are only for a couple tables, but we only waited about 20–30 minutes. The vibe was lively, and everything felt well worth it.“

“the wontons were super delicious and filled with a really good amount of meat. the spicy oil they used tasted amazing and added a lot of flavor.
the noodles were really good too. my only complaint is they were extremely greasy, but that might just be how the dish is cooked. overall still very tasty.“

“This was phenomenal. The soup broth was SO flavorful and the egg looked like it was birthed by a golden chicken. Seriously incredible. My only qualm is that they don’t let you adjust the toppings. I personally don’t like pork but was unable to switch it out for another type of meat. Other than that, seriously great ramen. Server was super nice as well and the vibes were great.“

“Pho 2000 is a no-nonsense hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese spot that is not especially fancy or polished, but it is serving up piping hot, flavorful bowls of pho that absolutely hit the spot. The staff were all super friendly and very prompt with things like water, tea, and bussing dirty plates and bowls, which I really appreciated.
I ordered the #3, the beef pho with rare steak, well-done flank, tendon, and tripe. I tried the broth on its own first and it had a nice depth of flavor before I added my usual dashes of hoisin and sriracha. I also ordered the rare steak on the side since I hate when it gets overcooked, and it was a good test of how hot the soup was when the slices started to turn that perfect light pink gradually as it continued to simmer in the broth.
I liked the pieces of tendon and tripe that were in the bowl, but honestly there could have been a lot more of both since those are some of my favorite bites of pho. The goi cuon, or shrimp and pork spring rolls, were pretty standard and decently fresh, though I'm not sure I'd order them again given the price as they were effectively 2 long rolls cut into 6 pieces for over $10.
Overall, this is a great spot if you're just looking to scratch a quick pho fix and happen to be in the neighborhood.“

“Went with a party of 12 and joined the waitlist early so we were able to get seated pretty quick! Our table ordered one kalbijim medium spicy with cheese and one mild kalbijim. Between the two we liked the medium spicy with cheese a lot more since we thought the mild one a little too sweet.
Meat was super tender and so were the veggies, and it paired very nicely with the purple rice! Wish they had more variety for their side dishes but rly delicious over all, just a little pricy!“

“Everything about this location I can safely say is so fulfilling. The hand pulled and cut noodles and thicknesses to your liking are simply beyond compare. The broth, the lovely meat that comes in the broth. Just about everything that you could want in a location to enjoy Dao has without question. I was lucky enough to visit this location with my brother and his wife. We were thoroughly impressed and completely blown away by everything, including the truffle and shrimp dumplings along with everything, including the green beans every other side dish that you could possibly want. I am so very excited to try the beef roll because that is one of my particular favorites. When frequenting certain dumpling houses or places with hand pulled noodles. I can certainly say that I will be back here many times over. I cannot believe that this location is open late to help serve people like myself. Definitely a night owl. I simply enjoy the fact that this location by so many different San Leandro institutions can certainly become another one and I cannot wait to get back and have myself a bowl of noodles. I also cannot wait to try the variety of dumplings that I have missed so far. Given that week and only order so much at each instance, I can safely say that this location is just some of the finest that you could hope for and enjoy with family and I certainly hope that you do the same at your next opportunity.“

“I arrived about 15 minutes before they opened because I was starving and asked if I could wait inside until they started serving. They were incredibly accommodating - not only did they let me sit inside, but they also allowed me to place my order early, which I really appreciated and wasn’t expecting.
I ordered the tomato and egg lo mein, and it was exactly the kind of comforting meal I was hoping for. I finished every last bite - no leftovers 😬“

“I’ve always been a big fan of ramen, and this place is definitely one of my top two recommendations in the East Bay/Oakland area! The only other spot I’d suggest is Mensho on Piedmont Ave. I’ve been coming here for years, and my favorite is always the Chicken Paitan DX. The broth is always so rich and flavorful with just the right amount of umami and not too much salt. I absolutely love when that grilled sizzling chicken leg comes out it’s just so delicious! You can try their other sides and appetizers, but this order will fill you up pretty fast. The staff are always super attentive, and the restaurant has a perfect vibe for a date night or just hanging out with friends. Plus, the line is much shorter than the one in San Francisco Japantown. I’m a huge fan of this restaurant and would highly recommend it to all ramen lovers! 😋“

“I called in about 30 minutes before they were closing. The gentleman on the phone was very polite and professional, he gave me a few recommendations, and even though I don’t eat raw meat, he offered to cook it completely instead. I tried so many soups like this and can definitely say that it was one of the best pho soups I’ve tried in my life. Soooo good! Definitely recommending to try ! Thank you for great service and tasty soup.“

“First of all, the food was great. I could tell it was a popular restaurant based on the non-stop delivery pick-ups!
The service was unique. There was only one older gentleman, and a bit of a language barrier. But we were able to easily order and communicate that they were out of the donuts. 😭
But despite that, and the hole-in-the-wall location of it. And the confusion of a another, similarly named restaurant Spices across the street. But we got pointed in the right direction and we were very happy with the quality and flavor of the food.
We had the Kung Pao Chicken, Pork Buns, and scallion pancakes. All of which was delicious.
And the price was phenomenal. Especially given how much prices have gone up over the last couple of years.“

“Delicious * Fast * Great price * Courteous
The Tofu Banh Mi Sandwich was excellent! Wonderful flavor, amazing texture, just the right amount of sauce and spices. I called in my order, and it was ready when I arrived in 10 minutes. Their service over the phone and in-person was engaging and courteous. The price was extremely reasonable. I also love that they charge less if you pay in cash – a great way to wean all of us off the credit card system.“

“Came here with a friend and got the ribeye banh mi which was huge and so good! I'm glad we waited in line, it actually was not a very long wait in the end and the food came out fast.
Good:
- Portion size is super generous!
- The price is good
- The meat was so juicy! Loved the ribeye and they are generous with how much they give you
- There are some good picnic blankets nearby and it's not too bad
Bad:
- Long lines and no inside seating
Overall this was an awesome find and hole in the wall and I'm glad I finally got to try it!“

“One of the best Korean Restaurant in town. I ate with my 2 friends, and we ordered the Rose Galbi Jim. I really liked the spices and the soup of the galbi, blended really well with the mozzarella cheese. Moreover, the texture of the tteokbokki was so soft and tasty. At the same time, the portion of the Galbi was so big, we couldn’t finish it so we took some back home.
the other best part was that you could refill the banchan. Would recommend you to ask more for the tofu and kimchi, really mouthwatering. the waiter and waitress were kind and friendly, they served you fast.
we visited the restaurant quite late in the afternoon, so we didn’t need to queue since there were plenty tables. the parking area was big too.“

“Cool place (love the decor/style), nice staff & tasty food. Some dishes you will not find in the average Thai restaurant in the Bay Area. For example, the chef or owner is from northern Thailand so the menu features a top Northern Thai dish - Kao Soi noodle soup (beef or chicken), or the all time fav 'street food' grilled pork skewers (moo ping) served with sticky rice (ck out the menu on their website). I had the Pad Kemao Chicken (menu says beef but they are happy to make dishes with what you like & even have Beyond Meat dishes on the menu - cool to see stir fried basil with Beyond Meat (Krapao Beyond Neur)). The taste of my wok fried pad kemao was delicious, same or better than any I've had on prior trips to Bangkok. Glad to have discovered a solid Thai restaurant that doesn't have watered down flavors. Good to see they have a lot of gluten free and vegan choices on the menu too. Definitely will be back, keep up the good work!“

“I’ve been going to Monster Pho ever since I moved to Oakland five years ago, and it has become my go to spot for pho. I usually keep it simple and order the rare steak pho without adding much because the broth speaks for itself. As someone who has had pho from all over the Bay Area, I can honestly say that Monster Pho has a style of broth that is uniquely their own. It tastes like a family recipe that has been perfected over time. It is rich, comforting, and consistently delicious.
What keeps me coming back is not just the food. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere makes you want to stay awhile. As a father of four with kids ranging from a teenager to toddlers, finding places that work for the whole family is important. I’ve been bringing my children here since they were little, and Monster Pho has become one of those special Oakland traditions for us.
I also really appreciate the role they play in the community. They are always supporting local causes, hosting fundraisers, and finding ways to give back. In a city as vibrant and diverse as Oakland, places like Monster Pho matter. They help create the sense of community that makes this city special.
Great food, great people, and a great atmosphere. I’m grateful Oakland has places like Monster Pho, and I look forward to bringing my family here for many years to come.

“Ordered chicken pho. Loved the broth flavor and noodle texture. Also, I appreciated the smart packaging very much for a takeout order. They serve noodles, chicken, onions and cilantro in a bowl and broth in a separate container. You can pour the broth into a bowl and it's ready to consume!“

“Solid Chinese yum, not the standard Chinese-American.
Popo Noodles, with rice-wine braised pork belly is savory, soy-based comfort; egg noodles cooked to still-chewy perfection, dressed for flavor but still dry. Pickled Bamboo Shoots add-on, a must, to cut through the light meat fat.
A good option when at Spark Social.“

“Bring cash! Self-seating, so bring someone to save your spot or grab the bar seating against the wall. Order at the counter, your number gets called. Condiments are up front except Sriracha which is at every table.
Came on a Tuesday for a late lunch and it was still packed — clearly social media is driving a lot of tourists here for the rice rolls. Got the Rice Roll Express Roll out of curiosity but wished I'd gone with the Shrimp Feast instead. Not bad, just not my favorite. Also wasn't asked about my optional topping and ended up with cabbage by default, so speak up when ordering.
Would come back to try the Shrimp Feast.“

“An egg noodle shop on Ellis Street in Little Saigon. The braised duck leg noodle soup is the bowl to order, the wontons deserve their following, and the homemade soybean drink is the right thing on the side. Ten to twenty dollars a head, and the taste does not drift between visits, which regulars notice. Thank you for the steady bowls. Five stars.“

“This place is our favorite! The food is consistently great, the staff are warm and attentive. We come here almost every weekend and love the half priced Sake on Fridays! I tell everyone about this place and hope it sticks around for a long time :)
We also get the heart skewers, gyoza with house sauce, tantan men ramen and the tonkotsu. The curry is also divine!
Shoutout to G who is the best waitress! She takes great care of me and my family.

“The meat quality is pretty good! Although there was a big party right before us so we had to wait for quite a bit after seated for food to be served, the dining experience was satisfying.
