“Found this spot recently and I’m already hooked! We tried the combo (rice rolls, siu mai, curry fish balls) and teriyaki chicken egg rice - everything was delicious and super authentic. Perfect if you’re craving real Hong Kong flavors! Service was incredibly warm and friendly too.
Oh and they had super cute HK themed merch you could purchase as well - egg tart towel, packaged noodle towel, egg tart magnets, etc.
Such a hidden gem, def worth a visit!“

“This was a great experience for us. The restaurant is in a rough looking neighborhood and parking was quite difficult as there is only street parking available. The restaurant has a few booths inside for small parties and a large garden patio with benches for larger parties. We had dinner on a Sunday evening and had a relatively short wait. We ordered both the cold and hot soba as well as the smoked duck breast. The duck was superbly done served chilled, the soba was out of this world. You can tell there was a lot of Care that went into the making of the noodles. Each bite breaks cleanly through the bouncy soba. If you have the opportunity to share in this experience I strongly suggest you make your way there.“

“the wontons were super delicious and filled with a really good amount of meat. the spicy oil they used tasted amazing and added a lot of flavor.
the noodles were really good too. my only complaint is they were extremely greasy, but that might just be how the dish is cooked. overall still very tasty.“

“I'm a different person now (positive). There were probably ~65 people in front of us waiting in line to get in and we waited for about 50 minutes. Respectfully? Incredibly worth the wait. My group got a few different bowls and honestly couldn't pick a fave - they were all so so so complex and delicious. TRULY chefs kiss 🤌. Also, the vegan tantanmen absolutely rocked our worlds. As meat eaters, we were so pleasantly surprised by the richness of flavors omg?!“

“I think it was good but not great!
Service is fast and efficient. You order on a tablet and pay immediately and then get your food (which comes out quickly).
Portions are large. I got the beef noodle soup (not bone-in), and I could barely finish half 😭 The meat portion was generous. The soup was good! Though i feel the noodles felt a bit disconnected from the soup? Like they felt like an after thought (not as hot as the soup was, not as flavorful like they didnt absorb any flavor)
Spicy wontons were totally okay. Weren't particularly juicy nor spicy! Wouldn't get this again.
I wouldn't wait longer than 20min for this, and I would prefer to try other places in this area (BIGGGG competition for noodle soup)“

“Comfortable atmosphere. Delicious Xiao Long Bao :) . Dan Dan noodles were so fresh. Cucumber salad was also yummy and refreshing, had a hint of mayo dressing. Must have Dubai chocolate Xiao Long Bao !!! Better and tastier than Din Tai Fung :) . The service was exceptional. You feel right at home.“

“Every item we ordered was magical. Absolutely loved all their small tapas style dishes, scallops, yam, pork belly, chicken, beef. Scallop and sweet shrimp (ebi) handrolls were great. Fine dessert choice as well. Get there early as there was quickly a line out the door with 20-30 minute waits throughout the night after we arrived.“

“I went here for the first time and it was an amazing experience. The food was incredible , especially the pho. The broth was so rich and flavorful, it really stood out.
What impressed me just as much as the food was the service. Our server carried the hot bowl of pho like it was nothing , I touched it for a second and it was really hot, so I was honestly amazed!
The staff made us feel so welcome and taken care of. Our server was very attentive, and even the manager came by to check on us, helped fix our plates, and made sure everything was perfect. That level of care made us feel really special.“

“First of all, the food was great. I could tell it was a popular restaurant based on the non-stop delivery pick-ups!
The service was unique. There was only one older gentleman, and a bit of a language barrier. But we were able to easily order and communicate that they were out of the donuts. 😭
But despite that, and the hole-in-the-wall location of it. And the confusion of a another, similarly named restaurant Spices across the street. But we got pointed in the right direction and we were very happy with the quality and flavor of the food.
We had the Kung Pao Chicken, Pork Buns, and scallion pancakes. All of which was delicious.
And the price was phenomenal. Especially given how much prices have gone up over the last couple of years.“

“Daeho Kalbijjim & Beef Soup in San Francisco is a standout for authentic Korean comfort food, especially their signature premium kalbijjim—a massive, shareable braised short rib dish packed with deep, rich flavor that’s easily enough for more than two people and well worth the slightly higher price; the bibimbap is also solid, though the meat portion can feel a bit underwhelming even when paying extra, but overall it remains a go-to spot for hearty, satisfying Korean cuisine in SF.“

“Came here after seeing a video about it on Instagram. I think it has the best tsukemen I’ve had outside of Japan! The gravy/soup part is actually served super hot and is tasty. The normal tonkotsu ramen is also decorous. I liked the cucumber appetizer with some kind of chili garlic onion topping - refreshing and a nice starter to a heavy carb meal that follows.“

“Solid Chinese yum, not the standard Chinese-American.
Popo Noodles, with rice-wine braised pork belly is savory, soy-based comfort; egg noodles cooked to still-chewy perfection, dressed for flavor but still dry. Pickled Bamboo Shoots add-on, a must, to cut through the light meat fat.
A good option when at Spark Social.“

“I called in about 30 minutes before they were closing. The gentleman on the phone was very polite and professional, he gave me a few recommendations, and even though I don’t eat raw meat, he offered to cook it completely instead. I tried so many soups like this and can definitely say that it was one of the best pho soups I’ve tried in my life. Soooo good! Definitely recommending to try ! Thank you for great service and tasty soup.“

“The spicy broth here HITS the spot, like the broths in Asia, which is typically hard to find in the Western world. The owner was so sweet, and the food came quick.
The decor and vibe is also really authentic. I can't quite put my finger on what that je ne sais quoi is, but you really do feel transported to Asia for hearty, soul-warming bowl of noodles. What a hidden gem.“

The food and vibe is hearty and made with love. No Reservations. Come over, put you name down, but you can enjoy wine or beer from a freat ludt inside or outsides as you wait. Shhh!!! Don't tell anyone else.“

“While visiting San Francisco during the windy day I was craving warm pho soup. We selected a Pho restaurant near our hotel, and we chose the right place. It was one of the best pho dishes we’ve had! I eat pho at least twice a week in Southern California, where there are plenty of choices. However, this was one of the most delicious Pho dishes I’ve had.“

“Very possibly the best banh mi and hue rolls I've ever had. And I've been an avid Vietnamese food eater for 15 years in NYC and have been all over Vietnam.
5 spice chicken banh mi was insanely good, but also anything with the pork shoulder is gonna be great. Could have passed on the shrimp & pork spring rolls.“

“One of the best Korean Restaurant in town. I ate with my 2 friends, and we ordered the Rose Galbi Jim. I really liked the spices and the soup of the galbi, blended really well with the mozzarella cheese. Moreover, the texture of the tteokbokki was so soft and tasty. At the same time, the portion of the Galbi was so big, we couldn’t finish it so we took some back home.
the other best part was that you could refill the banchan. Would recommend you to ask more for the tofu and kimchi, really mouthwatering. the waiter and waitress were kind and friendly, they served you fast.
we visited the restaurant quite late in the afternoon, so we didn’t need to queue since there were plenty tables. the parking area was big too.“

“Cool place (love the decor/style), nice staff & tasty food. Some dishes you will not find in the average Thai restaurant in the Bay Area. For example, the chef or owner is from northern Thailand so the menu features a top Northern Thai dish - Kao Soi noodle soup (beef or chicken), or the all time fav 'street food' grilled pork skewers (moo ping) served with sticky rice (ck out the menu on their website). I had the Pad Kemao Chicken (menu says beef but they are happy to make dishes with what you like & even have Beyond Meat dishes on the menu - cool to see stir fried basil with Beyond Meat (Krapao Beyond Neur)). The taste of my wok fried pad kemao was delicious, same or better than any I've had on prior trips to Bangkok. Glad to have discovered a solid Thai restaurant that doesn't have watered down flavors. Good to see they have a lot of gluten free and vegan choices on the menu too. Definitely will be back, keep up the good work!“

“The food was so good I was in awe. The broth for the pho was rich and you can tell from the color of it. Loved that tripe was also one of the options to add to the pho. The boss is also really friendly and gave us some desserts which also slapped hard. Fried banana (goreng pisang) with ice cream was so good. There was coffee pudding too! Missed the pandan waffles though, would definitely try that next time.“

“Nice little date spot with a cozy vibe. Food was good and the service was quick and friendly throughout the night.
We tried:
• Pad Thai Tofu — recommend but their Tofu isn’t deep fried like some other places. Maybe Inquire or push for this if it’s important.
• Mushroom Dumplings 🥟 — also recommend
• Mango Sticky Rice — decent; not the best I’ve had, but still enjoyable
• Deep Fried Veggie Rolls — pretty good
• Thai Iced Tea — solid and refreshing
Overall, we had a nice experience. The food was tasty, service was attentive, and it’s a great casual spot for a date night.“

“January 2026:
Ordered food to go through Uber Eats. First time trying this place. Was very pleased with my lunch.
Had the chicken pho and the soup was very tasty 😋. Good combo of noodles and chicken.
Also had the chicken cabbage salad and thought it was delicious. Would order that again.
Also tasted the papaya shrimp salad and the tofu banh mi. Both were good. Will definitely come back again. Will try dining in next time.“

“Very solid tofu banh mi (heavy on the veggies but i’d rather extra than not enough) and delicious shrimp summer rolls. I wish their peanut sauce was thicker as it was kind of giving peanut dressing versus sauce, but nonetheless still tasty.“

“It’s my go-to everytime I’m in SF! Delicious, traditional noodle recipes. It always hits home. I love that most of the customers are long term neighbors, people that might have moved away but always came back to this place for some delicious food and memories!!

“Cha-Ya is very good traditional Japanese food that is all vegan. All of their food is excellent from the sushi to the udon to the various small plate offerings. The ingredients are so fresh and high quality and the food is so comforting and delicious. Prices are quite reasonable, but be aware that it is cash or venmo only. There is rarely a wait for a table, and the service is quick and friendly. It's got a homey/old school vibe and isn't a chic modern place, but that's a good match to the very homey traditional food. Highly recommend if you want a big meal that will leave you feeling great at the end.“

“We ordered Salted Boiled Edamame as an appetizer, Unagi Rice Bowl, Tonkatsu Ramen, Miso Tonkatsu Ramen and a bottle of local Nigori Sake. The Tonkatsu soup is very umami delicious paired with seaweed, bamboo shoots, thinly sliced ear mushrooms, half boiled egg and two cuts of boiled pork Chashu. The Unagi Rice Bowl has two skewers of Unagi, which lacks more roasting, it needs to be burned or toasted more. It has a combination of fresh seaweeds, fresh salad and plain rice. There were three of us and we paid a little over $80. We will definitely come back for more Ramen and Yakitori. This place is highly recommended!“

“This is my first time trying this place. I arrived at 10 and it wasn't that busy yet. I ordered 4 different types or rice rolls, preserved duck egg congee and soy milk to go for $45. I tried one of the rice rolls and the soy mil before leaving. I enjoyed the food so much! I like how they have a small sauce station where you can add different sauces and sesame seeds.
I can eat rice rolls several times a week. Looks like this will be one of our regular spots!“

“I highly recommend this small restaurant and its signature Pho: the broth is perfectly seasoned (with extra salt available on the table), it’s packed with meat, and the noodles are excellent. I love soup and would recommend this spot to tourists; the prices are great, and the place is clean and cozy. The fact that locals dine here is the best guarantee of the food's quality.“

“I’ve been ordering the vermicelli bowls, banh mis, spring rolls, and pho regularly at this spot now for almost a year, and they have never missed. “At this location, the fried garlic is served separately—a detail I truly appreciate. I also really enjoy their thin egg noodles, which strike a perfect balance between chewy and tender without becoming overly soft. However, the dish tends to be quite oily, so if you prefer lighter meals, this might not be ideal for you.
My usual order is the Number 1 without kidney, with the soup served on the side. I also always add fish cake as an appetizer. The total cost for two regular dishes plus one appetizer comes to $53.75.
What I love about this restaurant is how it evokes the authentic flavors of Thailand’s street food, especially the dry yellow egg noodles. While it doesn’t include traditional Thai-style char siu or wontons, the taste remains quite close to home.
This well-established Chinese restaurant impresses me with its surprisingly clean restrooms, likely due to my morning visits. Parking can be difficult, as only metered street parking is available. The branch tends to be busy, so clear communication with staff is important. Although there may be a short wait, the service is attentive and friendly.“

“They have individual cooking pots so that each person can get their own broth to cook in which is great when your party likes different spice levels. They provide a good variety of vegetables and mushrooms and choices for sides including vegetables and traditional Chinese hotpot meats like tripe. The pumpkin worked really well.
The steaks were fresh and very thin so easy to cook. The wagu was very fatty, but the menu did say 40% fat. The chuck was perfect to american tastes.“
