“The meat quality is pretty good! Although there was a big party right before us so we had to wait for quite a bit after seated for food to be served, the dining experience was satisfying. “Mensho is definitely not worth the wait in my opinion. The line is usually 45min-1hr long. Coupled with the fact that parking is hard to find and the restraunt is tiny and cramped, you are better off going to marufuku or hinodeya.

I had the spicy GKO. Compared to the other garlic ramen I have had in ramenagi this was ok. The chasu is belly slices like marufuku and not the spiral rolled belly cross section which I prefer since it falls apart more easily.

They don't give you a lot of toppings on the ramen. There is no ajitama or menma in the default. Given that the price point is higher than other sf ramens this doesn't seem like value for money.

Clearly other people disagree since there is a line out the door but also the restraunt is tiny so this could be artificial scarcity and the insta hype cycle.“

“LetsSweet Kitchen is a Hong Kong chaan Teng restaurant in San Francisco South the market neighborhood, across the street from the Porsche dealer. We were in the area and decided to give them a try. Highly rated at 4.9 on Google, 4.7 on Yelp.

The place is clean, Service, friendly and food solid. Prices are higher than Chinatown, of course. Parking is a lot easier here. If you're in the neighborhood and want some Hong Kong style Chinese food, this is a good bet. If you're intimidated by Chinatown, this is a great place to go.

Food Picks:
Brad beef brisket rice with four piece wonton ($22.99) is a special during lunch and includes a drink. Ample quantity and good wontons and sold braised brisket flavor. The Hong Kong milk tea was strong and not too sweet. 8.5/10

Black pepper pork chop and onion over rice ($16.85) had reasonable quantity and was cooked just fine. The sauce was on the peppery side. 8.5/10.

It does get busy, and there was a line since reservations are only for a couple tables, but we only waited about 20–30 minutes. The vibe was lively, and everything felt well worth it.“

“Coming from the San Gabriel Valley, which has plenty of Sichuan food, I’m always on the hunt for good Sichuan places in East Bay. Of which, there aren’t that many.

I was pleasantly surprised by the food at Mr. Liu Noodle House.

The noodles in the Beef Noodle Soup were bouncy, and the broth was wonderfully fragrant and savory. It had just the right amount of flavor and salt.

Their chengdu dumplings are delicious as well. Nice homemade wrappers with a chew to them, in a fragrant balanced chili oil. Just the right amount of Sichuan peppercorn.

The blistered green beans had a nice wok hei to them, and packed a salty punch from the pickled vegetable (“sui mi ya cai”)

Service was lovely. The boss lady 老闆娘 refilled our water multiple times.“

“The fall here is incredible and I've been getting it every week for the past 6 weeks to ease my tummy as I have IBS. Sometimes. The pho is a tad on the sweet side, but it is consistent and delightful. The service is always really attentive at the beginning and once you have your food they kind of leave you alone, which I like.

“Got sat right away after putting myself on waitlist , food came out right away I got the hakata tonkatsu with medium spice . It was so flavorful and good . I didn’t taste any spice so would have been nice to get a bit more spice in it . My only regret is I ate it too fast . The other ramens looked good too . Especially the spicy ground chicken (TanTan). Workers were going at it getting orders out left and right and seemed to enthusiastic about it producing yummy meals for people 🙌🏼“

The short ribs were so tender and had the most delicate, slightly sweet and savory flavor.

We loved the Korean beef tartare and the glass noodles.

The line was long at 6 pm on a Wednesday so come prepared to wait. It’s definitely worth it.

The gentleman on the phone was very polite and professional, he gave me a few recommendations, and even though I don’t eat raw meat, he offered to cook it completely instead. “The best XLB I ever had. The thickness of the exterior dumpling that holds the delicious pork soup mixture inside is the perfect balance where you can gently and carefully pull it apart from the parchment paper it sits upon without tearing and spilling everywhere, and it is not too soft, not too hard, but perfect. Only someone with a masterful and skilled hand could have done this, and the Chef takes confidence and pride in their dumplings, looking through the glass to see our reaction of that first bite, eagerly awaiting for the joy inside to let loose into a smile and a laugh. I pray that this place never goes out of business. The staff was friendly enough, the environment was clean enough, the decor was cute and simple, there is one restroom, very well stocked and clean, and smells kind of like the very first Yugioh starter pack kit, back when it was just Yugi and Kaiba starter decks. I also had a refreshing berry drink that was worth it. We got XLB classic and crab, pan fried soup dumpling, and the very delicious fresh pea leaves which was worth it's price fully in satisfaction of flavor, vibrantness, and freshness. They were incredibly accommodating - not only did they let me sit inside, but they also allowed me to place my order early, which I really appreciated and wasn’t expecting.

“I live only a block away from several very popular Vietnamese restaurants in the Tenderloin. This is a great choice despite located in it's kinda interesting Tenderloin neiberhood. Super hot pho tai! Quick service, and if you want cold water, they bring a nice pint in a big plastic thermos container. Love it every time.“

The service was unique. There was only one older gentleman, and a bit of a language barrier. But we were able to easily order and communicate that they were out of the donuts. 😭
But despite that, and the hole-in-the-wall location of it. And the confusion of a another, similarly named restaurant Spices across the street. But we got pointed in the right direction and we were very happy with the quality and flavor of the food.
We had the Kung Pao Chicken, Pork Buns, and scallion pancakes. All of which was delicious.
And the price was phenomenal. Especially given how much prices have gone up over the last couple of years.“

“Went here right after a 4-mile hike at Muir and this place literally saved my life 😭 I was STARVING, thirsty, and about to die from exhaustion.

Perhaps my best decision today was ordering the Hoanh Thanh Mi Hai Ky (house special wonton egg noodle soup) and a Vietnamese coffee. Service was super fast and accommodating—they even made my coffee in a to-go cup so I could carry it out later.

My table neighbor got his food before me and his bowl made the WHOLE restaurant smell so good I lowkey started getting hangry like WHERE IS MY FOOD??!! 😭 (extremely impatient of me considering my food literally came out less than 5 minutes after I ordered 💀)

“Came here with a friend and got the ribeye banh mi which was huge and so good! I'm glad we waited in line, it actually was not a very long wait in the end and the food came out fast.

Good:
- Portion size is super generous!
- The price is good
- The meat was so juicy! Loved the ribeye and they are generous with how much they give you
- There are some good picnic blankets nearby and it's not too bad

Bad:
- Long lines and no inside seating

“This place is as authentic as you can get. It’s a gem cause not many places serve rice rolls “肠粉”. This place is no frills - you order at the counter and pick it up there yourself. The food is served on disposable plates. There’s a wide variety of sauces provided for you to add yourself to your food. The special soya sauce is the best and most original way of eating it. I had the rice roll express special - it was alright. The wantons were decent but the soup was lukewarm and barely had any taste in it. The soy milk was freshly made in house. More effort could be invested in keeping the tables clean. Overall - this place is a gem if you’re looking for a real Chinese experience without breaking the bank.“

“I absolutely adore this place! I’ve been coming here for roughly 5 years and the food is absolutely scrumptious! I’m a creature of habit, so my go-to bowl of noodles here is the Chongqing Street Noodles. It’s so hearty and flavorful with the most deliciously chewy hand pulled noodles! I also love the peanuts and they make it perfectly spicy when I request for it. Also, the prices are super reasonable and the portions are ample.

It’s never super busy and they have searing both inside and outside. The lady who takes orders is super sweet and efficient. I love the robot that brings the food to the table! It’s always a hoot to watch. All in all, this is some of the best and most unique noodle soup that you’ll find in Oakland! I love it to pieces!“

“This place seemed like a good comparison to Papa Noodles on New Montgomery. I ordered the Momo Spicy Noodle for an affordable $11 base dish. I added the spicy chicken protein and an extra side of pickled yellow pepper because everything should be pickled.
The compost ready cardboard bowl is good except I think a little leaked onto my desk, so just something to watch out for next time.
The portions were good with lots of base thin noodles, medium sized pieces of chicken and a good amount of pickled yellow peppers.
This dish is definitely spicy and left a tingling sensation in my mouth 10 minutes after finishing.
I was delayed in picking up my order but it was ready and waiting for me when I arrived. A very pleasant person behind the counter greeted me and gave me the food.
Although Papa is still my favorite, Momo is a good runner up for lovely a noodle dish.“

“Cool place (love the decor/style), nice staff & tasty food. Some dishes you will not find in the average Thai restaurant in the Bay Area. For example, the chef or owner is from northern Thailand so the menu features a top Northern Thai dish - Kao Soi noodle soup (beef or chicken), or the all time fav 'street food' grilled pork skewers (moo ping) served with sticky rice (ck out the menu on their website). I had the Pad Kemao Chicken (menu says beef but they are happy to make dishes with what you like & even have Beyond Meat dishes on the menu - cool to see stir fried basil with Beyond Meat (Krapao Beyond Neur)). The taste of my wok fried pad kemao was delicious, same or better than any I've had on prior trips to Bangkok. Glad to have discovered a solid Thai restaurant that doesn't have watered down flavors. Good to see they have a lot of gluten free and vegan choices on the menu too. Definitely will be back, keep up the good work!“

“This is the best ramen in Oakland and possibly the Bay Area. I’m still trying new ramen spots but out of 22 that I’ve tried throughout the Bay Area this is the best I ever had! The toloyaki is really good as well.

The vibe tho! Oh so nice , good music great atmosphere! I try to go twice a month but the way my cholesterol is set up I have to pull back lol.

A huge portion for only $16! The pork was seared nicely, and not dry. Ive walked by this place everyday for months, and I can’t believe it took me this long to try it! A must go if you’re in the mission and craving Vietnamese!“
