Rice Roll Express is a cool, no-nonsense restaurant in the center of Chinatown, known for fantastic food at low prices and great portion sizes. It is super affordable and very lively, with lots of families. The place is clean, with plenty of tables and some bar seating in the dining room.

The menu has everything for an adventurous eater. All the rice rolls are fantastic, including the signature Rice Roll Express Special and the shrimp rice rolls. The long, thin, luxurious rice noodles are delicious with a soft, pillowy texture. Other standout dishes include the chili oil wontons, which are a must try, and the pork & shrimp wontons with chili sauce. The chili oil and peanut sauce are incredibly good, and the broth and meat in the soups is fantastic as well. They offer many different sauces to customize your order.

Service is generally fast, and waiting for food doesn’t take long, though on weekends it can be crazy with a wait. It is best to go on a weekday for an easy and fast meal, or skip the line and order online. It is an eat and go kind of place with very nice staff.
