A lot of ice cream joints, offer, vegan options but few go beyond sorbets and one or two basic flavors. Mr. Dewey's goes the full Monty, with lots of unique flavors, as well as traditional ones. Especially fond of mixing the golden turmeric flavor with another less exotic taste, like banana walnut, for a real treat.

I only tried the chocolate flavor with big cookie chunks mixed in. It was fabulous. I love an ice cream that doesn't skimp out on the mix-ins. Although I am not vegan or even vegetarian, seeing an increase in plant-based options is awesome.

This place is on the pricier side given the portion size, but there were some standout aspects. I particularly enjoyed the use of turmeric in the ice cream. However, it leans towards classic flavors and lacks the originality that non-dairy users might seek. While I didn't find it very chalky, it didn't quite have the same silkiness as other spots, notably Frankie and Jo's in Larkspur.I may not need to rush back, but it's good to have this place in my back pocket for the occasional...read full review
