“This spot is definitely your old school neighborhood bar where everyone knows each other. I was there for a bday celebration.... it was cool for a random eveing. They had kareoke and one pool table. Cocktails seemed to ok for the crowd; no quality wine selections for me so it was a dry night. Overall the music made it was enjoyable.“

“Last year, during my first visit to San Francisco, I discovered this restaurant and absolutely loved it. Now I’m back in San Francisco for the second time, and on my very first day in town, I knew I had to come back here.

The food is incredibly delicious! I was so excited to start eating that I completely forgot to take a picture of the chicken soup, but I did manage to get photos of the İskender and the dessert. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and just as amazing as I remembered.

“The interior is lovely, and the open kitchen is nice to see. The waiters provided us exceptional service. Between the two of us, we got the lamb carpaccio and guvec for two -- both of which tasted great. That said, since the meal ended up being over $50 per person and we ordered the menu for two, it would’ve been nice to leave feeling a bit more full. Still, it’s a nice upscale restaurant overall with a great atmosphere.“

“The BEST meal! We absolutely love this place. Every dish we’ve tried has been fabulous. Definitely start with the mixed place to try a bit of many appetizers. And the Khan Plov is so so good. I had never had Azerbaijani food but this is our new go-to with guests or for a date night in Oakland.“

“Family-run hidden gem for lunch among all the low quality and corporate options in this area. I was craving good meat and veg and Boochmania delivered. Perfectly al dente veggies with simple, tender meat. I modified the quinoa bowl which they were very nice about, and really enjoyed the blend of counter service (order everything at the register) and restaurant feel to the cozy seating. This is going to be my new go-to place every time I’m in the area for work“

“Go. To. Tarocco. You. Will. Love. It. Everything is healthy and delicious, but in an indulgent way that doesn't compromise on flavor. The owner could not be friendlier, or more welcoming and gracious. The chef clearly cooks with heart and soul and lots of experience. The atmosphere is sunny, inviting and beautiful. And the daily salads are always a home run. Because the salads are already composed, and you order at the counter, service is immediate. They also have delicious coffee and tea beverages, as well as a daily agua fresca and some really delicious-looking desserts (one a day). I'm vegan, and they have yet to offer vegan desserts, but they always have at least 3 vegan salads available. This is my go-to spot to bring out-of-towners or to go with a girlfriend for a lovely lunch in a beautiful environment. [NOTE: Only open for lunch on weekdays. Weekends and evenings, they're busy doing private events.]“

Being open only 11-3 and being closed two weekdays entirely I unfortunately tend to forget this place exists, even though I walk past all the time. Also the best sandwiches often sell out past the first couple hours, so you really got to get there 11-1.“

“Took my family to this new Mediterranean spot in Oakland and we were blown away. The shawarma plate comes loaded with seasoned saffron yellow rice, crispy spiced fries, fresh salad, and the meat is charred and tender with tahini and paprika on top. The hummus is silky and authentic. The Kabab was really juicy and well cooked, and the chef is very hospitable.
But what really got us? They brought out tea without us even asking. That kind of hospitality hits different.

“The food was good, but there was a significant delay with my Snackpass pickup. My order number was incorrectly labeled, causing the food to sit on the counter for over 20 minutes until I spoke up about not receiving my food three separate times. No compensation, just an apology.

Update: I've came back multiple times. I love the food, and I haven't had an issue since! Would highly recommend.“

“Great wine, food and atmosphere. One salad is more than enough for two people. We got the Retsina wine which was off the hook, soft, velvety and delicious. We got the soup which was reminiscent of Tom Kha in a way and also delicious. Greek fries and lamb salad were also made just right and the food was brought out so quickly. The service here was also very good on the ball and very quick to help with whatever we needed. We got some bread and butter with some type of homemade butter that tasted amazing.
