“Absolutely amazing food and service! The hummus was on point, creamy with tender and juicy steak and fries. The kunafa was delicious; not too sweet or overly cheesy with right amount of ice cream. The servers all had smiles in their face and absolutely respected everyone. The environment was clean and the food was piping hot.“

“Everything was exquisite. It was a pleasure to be seated here. The lamb shish kabob filled me up. The only constructive criticism I will say is that the water is from tap. The owner John is super friendly and hospitable as well as Yakup who regularly works there too. They also make homemade Turkish Delight that’s the best we’ve had. “Great wine, food and atmosphere. One salad is more than enough for two people. We got the Retsina wine which was off the hook, soft, velvety and delicious. “There is no shortage of Mediterranean restaurants in the Bay Area. This is the only one to which I have paid three visits in one month.

The spanakopita has sesame seeds on it. This is new and delightful for me.

And oh my goodness, do you get a lot of food for your price point.

“Little Joey Skidmark lives just a half block away from Big Baba in that little funky yellow house, so when he asked me for a ride home from pier 3 I said as long as you sit on your jacket and keep the window down, because I don't want a stained seat in my truck. So he got a ride home, and I got to enjoy the world famous grilled chicken sandwich from Big Baba Eats! I got it without the grilling, and it was Amazing! 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆“

“We ordered the house combo and it was very tasty. It came with 4 meats(chicken,beef,gyro ,koftedes). All of the meat was juicy,tender and well seasoned. The rice. was fluffy ans delicious. The mixed green salad had tomatoes amd cucumber and was topped with a pickled cabbage and dressed to perfection. I only had a small bite of the pita because rhe meal was so filling. I can't wait to try the baklava we ordered. What a great find. I will definitely be going back to this restaurant.“

I had just a wonderful experience here! The ambiance in the restaurant is beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised by the vegan options. It’s rare to find a place with great vegan and halal food. You can tell the vegan options are not just an afterthought.

Note: online, their menu does not have the impossible kufta but it’s written on their menu in the restaurant!

We got the:

- Sampler platter: this was incredible! I’m usually not one to be wowed by falafel, but this was delicious! The hummus was smooth (not grainy) and the babaghanous is smoky and fresh.

- Impossible kufta: this was delicious! It also comes with a vegan yogurt sauce.

- Veggie musakhan: I was wowed by the flavor in these! I expected bland veggies but this truly blew me away. It also comes with a vegan tzatziki

Everything was delicious! Bummed I missed out on the vegan dessert but will have to come back!“

“Chicken is super flavorful! I had a plate which was $20. Asked for extra rice instead of bread. Portions are decent size and deliver good value. The customer service is nice but its regular mall style self pick up place. Ingredients seem fresh and good quality. Tahini sauce was liquid and not as thick as other places (I think it’s just a matter of personal preference). The place is halal.
The only thing I would drop the price to $16/$17, not $19

“Oh my goodness. Such a gem in the rough. Amazing food in the middle of an industrial area. I'm an old fat white guy, and the meal defeated me. For the first time in a long time, I needed a doggy bag. The Shawarma were delicious as were the pickled veggies and cole slaw. The Arabic coffee was to die for. So rich and thick!“

“Bahche made our day out on a warm sunny day, even better! We came to Field Works to watch the England vs. Croatia game, and since they are in partnership with Bahche, the food was brought straight to our table! Super fresh, warm and ready to munch by all at the table! The ceviche was super juicy and tasty, the shrimp, fish and octopus was absolutely delicious. The beef and chicken skewers had just the right marinate and grill marks that made us feel outdoors, as if they were grilled right beside us. All around excellent experience for myself my brother and our friends. Anybody visiting this area needs to visit Bahche, it’s super convenient to get to between El Camino and 101-S in a super nice renewed area of Hillsdale/San Mateo. Their baklava with ice cream topped off the amazing experience and it was to our liking. I must call out their attention to detail, check out my photo of the baklava. How they place it even for a to-go packaging! Awesome and well recommended!“
