“The BEST meal! We absolutely love this place. Every dish we’ve tried has been fabulous. Definitely start with the mixed place to try a bit of many appetizers. And the Khan Plov is so so good. I had never had Azerbaijani food but this is our new go-to with guests or for a date night in Oakland.“

“Some sandwiches are incredible (sichuan chicken comes to mind), others just pretty good. Being open only 11-3 and being closed two weekdays entirely I unfortunately tend to forget this place exists, even though I walk past all the time. Also the best sandwiches often sell out past the first couple hours, so you really got to get there 11-1.“

“Took my family to this new Mediterranean spot in Oakland and we were blown away. The shawarma plate comes loaded with seasoned saffron yellow rice, crispy spiced fries, fresh salad, and the meat is charred and tender with tahini and paprika on top. The hummus is silky and authentic. The Kabab was really juicy and well cooked, and the chef is very hospitable.
But what really got us? They brought out tea without us even asking. That kind of hospitality hits different.

“I stumbled upon this and so was rather to try it out, given the high reviews it had. And I'm glad to see that I was not disappointed. The samosas and potato pakoras were absolutely delicious. I'd had this at another restaurant and the difference was so obvious. This was fresher, more decadent, truly loved it. We then had the mixed kabob platter and I loved that they were willing to substitute the shrimp for salmon. It truly was a tasty mix of food, and the portions were actually good enough for two people. If more than two, then that would not be the best option. Dave was also amazing, and worked on meeting my special request. I loved that he wasn't upset about it and even came over to check to see how it was. The level of customer service he showed plus the other waitstaff was very welcome. I certainly would come back here again for sure, and would recommend it to others.“

Whether you leave that building happy or sad, both attitudes could use a cold brew and a croissant -- both of which were good.This cafe is exactly what you need, exactly where you need it.Considered dropping it to 4 stars for not providing the opportunity to get drunk if that's what you needed after the an IRS meeting instead.“

“I don't usually do this... but the food we had delivered from XENiA via Uber Eats was SO delicious I just had to go out of my way to make sure they got a shout out because credit is most certainly due. We ordered the Souvlaki Chicken Rice Bowl, each with different sides and boy was it delicious. The best value mediterranean food we've had in the Bay Area in quite a while!“

“I give the highest caterer recommendation to Ikaros To Go (catering by the team that ran Ikaros restaurant). They planned and managed a very delicious memorial dinner for us for approximately 75 guests. The customer service and food were excellent - our menu included roasted salmon, vegetarian mousaka, rice, Greek salad and garlic bread, plus dessert of Baklava and sugar cookies which everyone also loved. They also handled dinnerware, water, lots of set up and clean up, soft drinks and pretty bottled Greek waters for the tables. They were extremely considerate, thoughtful, flexible, organized and reliable. Ikaros to Go went above and beyond and made our event very special. We are very grateful - Thank you Ikaros to Go!“

“East Bay Express has an article about this place! Excellent Afghan cuisine in the heart of Oakland. THE BEST Mantu I have ever had ( home made). Must try the Chami kebab plate!!! The spicy and savory sauces add to a perfect meal. Family friendly and has an authentic Afghan seating area as well. The owner was so kind and the server provided great service. “I love it because it's more then just grocery & grill. I consider it to be or it should be called "Multi convenience." Or maybe even "Some of this & Some of that!" would also be a good name. “My husband and I went last night. First time going. Restaurant was packed but I had reservations for outside table. The food was amazing and we had excellent service. We will be back again! Next time will try to sit inside. Looks like a beautiful restaurant with wonderful ambiance.“
